Darkness was suddenly permeated by a little ball of light, floating gaily around a small river in the back of the cave. It was a routine that Zuberi had become used to; every year, she came back to this place, with the stone that allowed her entry into the area where Pinkbeard's treasure lie. The secret words were uttered, and the dead end wall gave way to the secret room. The summoned whisp floated forward, lighting the way and bouncing to and fro. A few coins gleamed, but much of the treasure had already been cleaned out, transported by the very woman who'd found it, into a secret place of her own. Did she still feel that she'd find Pinkbeard here? Would she hear his voice once again speak to her? Every year, she came... and nothing. Now though.. things had changed. Her rank had grown to queen, and her human form had been acquired. Yes, if there were ever a time that she was worthy, it would be now. She -needed- this. So many things.. had changed. Friends had been lost, heartache had been felt. Zuberi was filled with a near.. bitterness in this point and time in her life. So long she had waited. So much, she had given up for an intangible love. She'd given up children... She'd given up a chance at love with someone she could -touch- and -hear-. It -had- to be for something. "Pinkbeard! Show yourself!"((Blarg DX Not as epic a post as I had hoped.. but meh))

Coronet Addition: This SD is now able to summon and speak to the past owner of the skull mounted on the coronet they wear: Captain Pinkbeard. They can do this whenever they please and can speak to and see him even when not a spirit themselves. He may be slightly disgruntled and mistrusting at first, but winning him over could get this SD quite an amazing spiritual servant or errand runner...or thief and pillager of information. Pinkbeard is not capable of seeing reincarnations and will not speak to them. He also has a rather hearty distaste for other pirate ghosts and will avoid speaking to them, even at the cost of lying to his summoner.
Come to think of it...he'll be likely to lie rather a lot, unless he thinks the SD is pretty...
This SD will not be able to touch the spirit just as they cannot touch any others, in or out of their own spirit form.
A voice floated in from behind her, dry and rasping and undeniably male. "Ye're a handsome wench, ent'cha?"
Standing behind her, six inches off the ground so that he could look her human form in the eye, was the ghost of a pirate. The pirate. Pinkbeard himself. His signature adornment was long enough to drape down to his belt, braided in places with beads and left to scraggle downward in others. He wore a long coat in dark, dark green and nothing else save for his hat. It was, to put it modestly, a large hat.
Over his heart, just barely discernible, was a faded rank. Queen of Clubs. The way he looked at her would make any woman feel like a very, very attractive piece of meat. "Been ages since ye found that thing, lass. Took ye this long t'figger it out?"
((Edit: Oopsie, forgot he was a Club. xD *fixes*))

After so many years of being met with nothing but silence.. to be answered was jarring at best. She swung around to be met with face. And HAT. Mostly hat, really. Zuberi had to take a step back from the sight. She didn't have to ask who he was. She knew.
"Migad!" She was able to blurt out, doing a double, and triple take at the sight in front of her.
She might have melted into a puddle of goo, had his comment not caused her to feel quite... taken aback. "I... I beg your pardon? I... try to contact you for most of my life.... and that's what ya say to me?" Ugh!
"If anythin', ya got to be giving me credit for tenacity!" Even as she was feeling quite put-off, her good eye roved up and down, all the way to seeing that his feet weren't touching the ground.. and that rank on his chest. Huh. Seth is a Queen of Spades. Funny, how that came to mind.

The ghostly rodent smirked, crossing his arms across his chest and changing his stance. It looked pretty strange for someone who wasn't... touching the ground. Or properly tangible. One of his elbows went through a bit of nearby stone without his noticing.
"I'll say a sight more'n that to ye if the opportunity arises. Ye had me excited when ye entered at the first, lass, an' I don't take too kindly to waitin' around. But, I dinnae have much of a choice in the matter. What manner o' woman are ye, t'be callin' me forth from me restin' place o' so many years? Y'ain't no ordinary sort, I can tell that much. Tenacious, aye. Beautiful, certainly. Strange, oh yes. What be yer name, lass? I'm assumin' that ye're familiar with me own." He grinned, a rakish expression as he continued to size her up. The dear Captain seemed to be in high spirits.

Zuberi immediately flushed red at his innuendo, unsure whether to be flattered or angry with him for saying such a thing. Surely any unwanted comments from a tangible man would have the unsightly punishment of becoming quite -bald-. But, this was a ghost.... and with him slipping through the rock wall like that, he most certainly was not tangible. That was a disappointment. As a child she'd always dreamt of being held in the arms of the man she so pined after.
"Well.... I'm sorry I kept you waiting." Zuberi didn't necessarily want to sound contrite, but that was how it came out as she faced her idol for the first time. And he thought she was beautiful.... Zuberi allowed herself to give a shy smile at that. He also thought her strange, but she could certainly deal with that.
"I'm Zuberi. I've... been wanting to meet you since I was a little girl, really. When I found that map..." She had to force herself not to get overcome by emotion.

"Oh, an' such a delicate lass t'be flushin' at so small a thing. Seas preserve ye if'n I ever really get started." The chipmunk laughed, an action that shook his entire ghostly frame. He laughed from the gut, hard and at a higher pitch thanks to his breed.
Then he flipped off his hat and swept it to the side and a grand bow. "Well then. It's a pleasure t'finally be makin' yer formal acquaintance, Z'berri." He rolled the 'r' in her name and looked up at her from under a thick brow before rising and settling the feathered behemoth back atop his head. "I left me map bits fer jus' such a one as ye t'find. I'll tell ye, it's quite a treat, talkin' t'someone alive again. An' did ye sell all me treasure, or have ye squirreled it away fer yer future years?"
She really was a comely wench. There were many a worse sort that might have stumbled across his booty. Speaking of, he would have dearly liked to steal a piece of hers. If he'd been alive. Damn it all.
