She snorted and rolled her eyes, waving her hand rather dismissively. "Sick of you? Only a little. I could always let a servant handle you from here on out. But I imagine her Majesty would be terribly disappointed in me if I did something so irresponsible. Anyway--" She stood cracking her back before taking a few steps forward. "To the kitchen. I'm sure one of staff members will take your order without a hassle and we can have it delivered to your room."
Gracefully she hopped over the gazebo railing, landing on the cobble stone with a very slight tap of her shoes. Apparently she was in a chipper mood. "Though next time someone attempts to get your attention, be more careful. If I was one of the servants I would probably be broken and bleeding. People here have the tendency of sneaking up on you, so I'm probably not the only one who is going to surprise you on your short stay."

Graeme chuckled appreciatively. Yes, whether she was a bit snooty or not, he actually found himself liking this woman. She was certainly more interesting than he imagined a lot of the nobles here would be. "Well, whatever your motive, I do appreciate your continued assistance," he said, eyes following her graceful movement. He decided he wasn't going to attempt anything of the sort; it had been a long day after all. He walked over to join her by the normal route.
Graeme coughed awkwardly as Em brought up his harsh reaction to being startled again. "Ah, well...yes..." He stood up straight, looking serious and trying to stop the blush he felt wanting to sneak up on him again. "I shall just have to avoid reminiscing so, er, deeply, I suppose, in the future." Not that he'd intended to do so, in any case...but intentions were hardly going to save him if he accidentally clipped some poor servant over the head with his cane.

The woman grinned as she turned back to him briefly. "All right then, let's go."
The walk was a long one. They had to go up a few floors to get to the kitchen so the duck could place his order. And then they had to take the long walk to the guestrooms. All the while Em did her best to keep the pace slow and easy. Despite being short she did have the tendency to speed walk. (It was simply because everyone around her was terribly tall.)
"Here we go!" she said cheerfully when they finally arrived at the room. "This is the room that the Queen requested for you, I hope it's suitable. Your food should be arriving in a few minutes. If you need any assistance you should be able to ring for one of the servants."
She would wait until he confirmed that everything was fine before departing.

Graeme found that the fare offered in the kitchens was much the same as in his own private home, albeit without his own stinginess and with more than one or two cooks. He felt no guilt at ordering something a bit more... sumptuous than he would ever dare at home. After all, he'd had a long day and he hadn't eaten for the majority of it.
He was actually quite tired when they finally made it to his room, despite the rather slow pace Em had been careful to keep up as they walked, but he held himself rigid, only leaning very slightly on his cane. He glanced over the room; it was wonderful, definitely up to his own standards. But Graeme could barely appreciate it; he was tired enough a bed roll under a shady tree would have looked good. But then, as a traveler, he was quite used to sleeping just about anywhere, despite how much his money and his own room at home would seem to imply the contrary.
Standing in the doorway, he turned one last time to smile easily at Em. "It looks more than adequate," he said. "Thank you, again..." He paused. What else was there to say? This would most likely be the last time he'd ever see the woman. The thought brought a flutter of actual sadness, which surprised the Duck. Amazing what a couple hours and a moment of weakness with another person could do for your feelings about them.
"Take care, M'Lady." He bowed to her, formally, from the waist, and then, with a last, lingering look, went into the room to wait for the servant to come with dinner. Assuming he could stay awake until then...
