Once the blanket was set up (with not very much help from her date, Mrs. White was quick to note...in fact, the other Feline looked to be daydreaming again!) the Tulgey sat down primly and waited for her glass of wine to be poured. Not too old, or too expensive a brand, she saw from the label, but at least it wasn't the Highlands wine he'd at first mentioned. Let those snobs have their overpriced grape soda. She'd take something more real. Well...the -real- stuff came from such places as Solandria. The stuff that would burn going down despite what tolerance you thought you had.
Mrs. White grasped the wine glass gently in her paw, wondering what fool thing Menefer was dreaming about now. Could it possibly have to do with her? The thought was surprisingly flattering. She took a delicate sip of the wine, and nodded her appreciation. "This wine is delightful, Menefer," she said. At least this was more than that penny-pincher of a boss she had would ever spring for! Not that the fool Duck drank anyway. It was ever so amusing to slip a bit of liquor into his tea before a meeting he was hosting...but that was neither here nor there. She wouldn't even waste this stuff on him.
"It is a wonderful night," she agreed. "Since it's just the two of us out here...together." Subtly, she looked at him out of the corner of her yellow eyes, keeping her eyelids half closed. Time to flirt, then...reel him in a little more. Mrs. White sidled a bit closer to the Torque, under pretense of getting a low-hanging tree branch out of her view. Her paw rested just shy of Menefer's bound leg, and her tail brushed against him as it swished back and forth, but she was pretending not to look at him. "Do you miss Toquehelm, Menefer, dear, on nights like this? When you see the stars and think...oh, oh, but maybe it's harder to see the stars in your home, is it?" She turned to look at him, all wide-eyed curiosity...hoping he would get upset and then she could 'comfort' him and thus fool him better into thinking she actually cared about his problems.
And the binding. They'd come back to that, for sure.

Menefer was indeed daydreaming most of that moment, and didn't realize that she was speaking till she touched him on his bound leg. He looked over surprised at her as his light purple eyes gazed at her in mild confusion and slight fear of the binding being ripped away. Though what saved him from jumping out of his skin was the mere fact that she said something that made his eyes drop to his wine glass.
Torquehelm... he had many memories of the place, but why... why did she have to ask about the stars. He loved seeing the stars, every night that he was able when he gazed up from that accursed place. There were rare moments where the clouds would break for a matter of seconds that would allow him to look up at the dark black setting sky, its silver drops of the stars that shown down on him. He always thought they were the tears of all those that couldn't make it in their lives... but now... wow... he was saddended by the thought.
"Thats a rather hard question... You couldn't see the stars that often... well rarely... though there were rare occasions that also helped my thoughts about getting out of there." he said as he looked up at the sky where the stars were very apparent. He smiled as he looked at them and looked back over at her and placed his paw on hers that was on his leg. "Though... I don't really need to look up at the sky no more... I could just look at you all the time." he said with a smile as he set his wine glass down.

Though Mrs. White kept her expression steady, she felt her spirits rise at how -sad- the question made her date. Yes! Wonderful. Just the sort of reaction she'd hoped for. She didn't, of course, care about the stars or anything else...more useless sentimental drivel that fools and lovers spent way too much time thinking about. And oh, his story about the tears was just the worst. She managed to avoid rolling her eyes, instead just composing her face into what she hoped would be a sympathetic expression and sighing gently.
"Ah, I see. That's unfortunate but..." Her eyes lit up at his compliment, even though part of her wanted to laugh in his face. Granted, she -was- probably more interesting to look at than a bunch of shiny dots in the sky...but still. "Oh! Oh, Menefer!" She blinked rapidly, as if she were staving off tears. "I...that you would say such things to me...we barely know each other!" Oh, if she could get a confession of undying love out of him...that would just be...it would make her night. She batted her eyelashes at him and moved her gaze down to his paw over hers and hers over his leg. Her fluffy tail swished against him again.
She allowed herself a small smirk before forcing her expression back to something teary. This was all going according to plan.

A confession of undying love? Well he had been thinking about that from the beginning but has been holding himself back every moment since the last time that he had meet her in the hotel that he happened to be working at at that time. He hadn't wanted to state it for simple reasons, for if he did then he had a feeling that it would end everything that he had been trying to work for in the past week or so.
Suits this was even their first real date! How could he blunder it up by saying something like that this early in the game? It was unheard of! Though he knew that he could tell her that he liked her to a near point of love though right? That wouldn't be bad... it wouldn't even mess anything up. It may even help them later down in the road right?
Durring all his deep thinking on random things did his expression change to deep concentration. It wasn't as if he hadn't heard what she said, but more or less hadn't realized the amount of time that had passed at the moment. Though it was her tail that brought him out of his thinking.
"Oh!, yes... well It's alright though. I mean... you are more beautiful than the stars and your coat is more precious than the brightest of them all. Why could one not complement you on the things that make you who you are. What makes others gaze upon you with such envy and... umm... other things..." he said with a cough hoping to cover that last bit as he pulled away slightly. Man... this has to be rough for her... I mean... she just lost her husband not to long ago... and here I am trying to get with her. I'm just going to turn into that rebound man....
he looked back to his wine glass and took a long draft and set it back down for a moment. Watching the light pink color of the wine swishing around the glass. "Nell... why did you want to go out on a date with me anyways? I'm really just a no body after all..." he said... hoping to get what she was after in that one statement... he looked up at her with a slightly sad expression.

Mrs. White smiled at Menefer's fumbling for words. He was tripping all over himself trying to compliment her! Why, any poet would be proud of the absolute sap that was flowing from the Torque's mouth. How very...amusing. She let out a small gasp, to hide the fact she wanted to laugh, and wished she could fake a blush. It would show up wonderfully beneath her fur and make Menefer think he had really affected her! Sadly, all she could do was fake tears instead.
The Tulgey blinked rapidly, a few tears leaking out of the corners of her eyes to wet her thick fur. "Oh...oh?" She looked saddened as he drew back, and she was inwardly...confused. Didn't he -want- her to lean all over him? And then he spoke, and it became clear. Ah. He wanted to make sure her intentions were the same as his. She drew herself up, turned away slightly, drawing up a sad expression.
Really, though...what a stupid, melodramatic question! "Well, I...when we met, Menefer...you treated me...differently. No, no wait..." She looked up at him, sincere and solemn except for the odd light in her eyes. "Others don't try to...understand me, not like you do." Her other recent lover understood her far better than this Feline ever will. "You're just so...sweet." And easy to manipulate.
Mrs. White smiled, then, a teary sort of look. "Please...don't say such things about yourself. To me, you're someone. Someone special." Someone whose heart I'm going to enjoy breaking into itty bitty pieces.

Menefer sat there for a moment and thought upon her words that she had spoken, about the way that she moved. It was all fascinating to him to know that someone out there really wasn't after him just to push him around like what he had heard of before. Those women that would use men to their pleasure and wrap them around their fingers just to get what they wanted any time they wanted it. So he in turn was pleased that he had happened to be there when they had come into the hotel that he was serving at the time. He really enjoyed her company without question or doubt.
Things now just seemed to be so much better with her around, Suits, he may even have found someone that he might be able to settle down with latter if he acted right and didn't make too much of a fool out of himself. Though if he knew what she was truly after... he may still stay with her just because she was someone that showed an intress in him. After all... he wasn't a dominate kind of guy.
"That is good to know... really it is!" he said with much passion and an expression of relefe. "I guess that you don't find someone like yourself every day. I guess that I should feel honored to have meet you and have this opportunity to spend a moonlit night out in the park with you." he said with a smile on his face as he turned back to her.
There was a million and one things that he wanted to say and many more things that he would have liked to do at this moment. Like he wanted to lean over and kiss her and tell her that he was hers for the taking if only she wouldn't hurt him. He was just being such a fool to rush a relationship so quickly, someone that fell in love so easily with another person, and yet... it was in his nature to do so. It was also near his nature to be hurt all the time, someone that wouldn't really find that person that would truly love him for who he is and what he did. After all... he was just too easy to manipulate.

Mrs. White kept smiling at him, the smile hiding her predatory feelings toward the other Feline. Her plans for him were what she was really smiling about, for she did, indeed, intend to wrap Menefer around her paw and get him to a point where he'd do anything she asked of him. And since he believed she was still upset about her ex-husband's death, she could use that as a manipulation tool as well if the Torque was ever reluctant. Her tail swished back and forth and she let herself lean a bit closer to him, finally wrapping her tail around his back.
"Oh...how sweet!" She giggled breathlessly. "I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm repeating myself a lot. I just...I..." She stared into his eyes, her own bright and yellow and longing, but with some underlying feelings that may be harder to read.
At least Mrs. White was having fun. How long had it been since she'd done that? Since she'd taken a night to herself? She wasn't sure how often she could get away with doing this...and she also wasn't sure if she should tell Scrooge she was dating someone or not. Hmm. It could be amusing to watch him be happy for her and jealous of her in turns, for she knew he secretly got lonely sometimes. She'd seen him staring at that picture he kept on the mantel. How foolish it was to ever fall in love...how utterly pointless and stupid of an emotion.
Luckily, Mrs. White was fairly sure she was incapable of it.

He straitened up and looked over at her. Seeing in her eyes and melting from the inside out. All he could do was lean against her and wrapping his thinner tail about hers. He was so glad that he had taken quite a long shower and self cleaning. Else he would just smell like raw meats and spices. He didn't mind smelling like that, personally he thought it was the smell of a true chef, though he thought that lavender and iris were going to appeal better to her than that. It was the small things that he would sacrafice at the moment for.
He didn't really know how to respond to her while he was looking up into her eyes, seeing something that he had only read in romance novels. There was something that he wanted to to do, and yet... he was just lost in her vibrant yellow eyes. All he could think about was just how kissable those lips were at that moment...

To Mrs. White, or at least her true self, the smell of raw meat would actually be more appetizing than that of flowers. The smell of blood always made her feel more alive, as well as the taste of it. It was why she ate her meat rare at the places she could get away with it. But, of course, that hardly fit in with the 'sweet, slightly dotty maid' persona she carefully covered her insanity with. So she drew in a deep breath, complete with a flutter of her eyelashes, and let it out on a purr as she took in the floral scent that in all honesty made her gag a little.
Her eyes, half lidded and hungry, stared into his as her small, pink tongue darted out to lick her lips. Her whiskers brushed forward against his and she continued the purr. She debated with herself quietly...should she play hard to get, be all coy and shy, or go in for the kill? The metaphorical kill, of course. Sadly. She finally decided on a mix of both...just to be as frustrating as she could. Her eyes fluttered shut, and she left herself drift forward just enough so her nose touched Menefer's, and then she kissed him, suddenly.
It was only for a moment, and then she fall back, eyes wide and breath coming in gasps. "Ah, ah! I am so sorry, Menefer! I...I don't know what came over me!" She raised a paw to cover her mouth, even managing to shake a little (with laughter, but hopefully Menefer would interpret it as something else).

Menefer didn't quite know what to do. He was torn into leaning forward and take the advantage and letting it ride some until she had made the first move. Though what he didn't expect was that she had leaned forward, her eyes half closed, and once he felt her whiskers did he know for a fact that this was the time, the time where he can kiss her like he had done before. He wanted a deep and long kiss, but she had pulled away from him suddenly and sat back. He was slightly left wanting and at the same time enjoyed the tease that she had gave him.
Though what he hadn't expected was what she did afterwards. . .
"Oh... I'm... umm. Don't feel sorry, I enjoyed it and I hoped that you did too. If at all it should be all my fault." he said as he leaned back a bit and sat there, his tail flat against the cover that they had laid on the ground for them to eat and picnick on. He really didn't understand what just happened but he knew that something should work. Something that he could do.
So... his mind went to food...
"Well... I have some wonderful cheeses and umm..." he started to say... he was so confused at the moment that he really didn't know what to say or do. "... I'm terrible... w-when it comes to dating and.. .going out with people." he said as he laid the cheese back into the basket and laid down on the cover. He didn't look away but instead just looked up at her, almost in a pleeding manor. He would love for her to tell him something to do. He was quite lost at the moment.
