Thud.
Where he was sitting on the floor, Apocalypse let out a long breath he hadn't even been aware he'd been holding. The spell had worked like a charm. In a way, it was a blessing. Had the man been of a higher rank, the results of it would have been far more painful. This way he would just... be out. His heart pounded dully in his chest, and slowly, he pulled himself back onto his feet. "Shit," he whispered, rubbing his forehead. Then he was aware of Poe's urgent words, her fear. As far as she knew, he had just killed her brother.
"He'll be waking up in a minute or so," he said, giving her an apologetic look. "I should - I'll hide in the bathroom. He didn't seem to have any interest in going after you, so I figure... it'll give you guys a chance to talk."
At her concerned question, the man's expression softened and he reached out to lightly touch her cheek. "I'm fine. Come get me when it's safe." He said the words somewhat jokingly, hoping to distract her slightly from what had just happened.
Then he moved into her house, making a beeline for the bathroom and shutting the door behind him. Once there, he took a deep breath. That was weird.

Poe was still trembling, torn between her concern and her need to apologize. Everyone was alright, though, and that was good... especially since Apocalypse didn't seem particularly angry either.
"T-Thank you." She smiled, blushing heavily. "Alright."
It wasn't long after Pale hurried off that Imre woke once more.
Ace woke first. The beast jolted upright, teeth bared and his feathery fur bristled all over, but there were no Hearts here only terrified Poe. She trembled, big purple eyes fixed on him, and Ace relinquished his control over Imre with a soft whine.
Imre collapses as soon as the Ace let go, flopping onto his rear and clutching his head in his massive paws. "Wow." Was all that managed to come out as he tried to tame his spinning head. Ace had apparently gotten up too fast. "Your friend? Is he alright?"
"Apocalypse is fine... but, Suits, Imre! You scared the life out of me. What was that?"
"I... Ace took over. He's never done that before." He dropped his paws, bowing his head apologetically. "I'm sorry, Poe. I would've warned you if I'd known." He slowly shook himself and climbed to his feet, capturing Poe in a massive hug. "So uh, I'm gonna go. But I'll be back at my usual time next week to hear all about your new friend." He bumped her affectionately.
Poe nuzzled her brother. "Thank you. I'm sorry about the visit this week... I didn't expect to see Apocalypse and it just threw my whole week for a loop. Things should be back to normal next week, at least enough to have our usual chat."
After Imre had vanished back into The Wood, Poe slipped inside and locked up the door before hurrying to the bathroom. Their exchange hadn't been long, but she could only assume that it must have felt like an eternity trapped in a bathroom.
"Apocalypse," she chirped outside of the bathroom "Imre's gone home."
