Once he was used to the water, Arkady took a deep breath and plunged himself entirely under the cold stream. It felt nice, despite the little niggling in the back of his mind that said this water may not be quite as clean as he hoped it was, but he forced the worrying thought away and paddled a bit, fighting the current and feeling the mud wash away. It left him feeling much lighter, and when he finally had to rise to the surface to breathe, which he did in a gasp, Ark felt almost like he could float up into the air.
He didn't, of course, as it was only a metaphor. He blinked a bit of water away from his eyes and turned to find his brother. There was a slight jolt of alarm when he wasn't immediately visible, but before Ark's mind could conjure up images of a sea monster running away with his brother, a sodden yellow-and-brown boy was approaching him again, and the pup smiled in relief. He nodded happily to his brother's question, sending little drops of water spraying everywhere, and made a gesture with his head for Yuri to follow as he pulled himself out of the water onto the grassiest part of the bank.

They were about as clean as they were going to get without soap and a thorough scrub, which suited him just fine; the only time sterilization was necessary was when he was performing an operation. He tugged himself out of the water after his brother and flopped onto the grass in an ungainly spread of limbs, relaxed and noodle-limp in the patch of sunlight, rather divested of an inclination to get up and move. He probably should have taken his mask off before submerging himself, but then his underwater acrobatics would have been really comical and also his brain cells might get a little toasty.
The warm grass almost seemed the perfect opportunity for a nap, though it might cause the both of them to overheat. He couldn't imagine having a truly thick Glacier pelt in their climate; that much fluff would be miserable. It was so calming, though, just the burble of the water and the rustle of trees and the buzz of bugs.
"Do you think a little sleepytime would hurt?" he asked.

Stepping a bit away from Yuri, Arkady shook himself, water flying everywhere and making his thick fur stand up at odd angles as it left. He used his paws and his reflection in the water to fix his Mohawk, and then he flopped into the grass beside his brother, tongue lolling out just a bit. When his tongue found the taste of grass, he quickly pulled it back into his mouth. He may have consented to wash in water that wasn't hot and decontaminated, but that didn't mean his worries about germs were very far from his mind, even then.
Still, the sun felt warm on his fur, and for a moment, it was pleasant. He was sure it wouldn't take too long for it to get unbearably hot, but hopefully he'd be somewhat dry by then. "Nah, not if it was only a little," he muttered, because this was rather comfortable and he didn't want to show back up at the Court still wet, anyway. He shifted a bit, inching along in the grass as he made his way to some shade. At least then he wouldn't get as hot from the direct, merciless rays of the Highland sun.
