Oooooh ..... extra tails? Extra bone tails? That's awesome!
He was the only one of his siblings born without rot, much less the all the way to the bone rot the both of them had on their front leg and he had a horrible fascination with it. suits, even mama had that little section of visible bone on his tail, that was just .... cool. He didn't care what other people thought, having your bones show through your skin was just absolutely awesome.
But Kat was here... and ruining all his fun with his suspicious looks and posture, wasn't he?
Kaaaaat, where are your manners?
Hush Nova.
The way he watched Buddy made him feel different on his insides, darker. The mushroom was his friend, a friend that didn't talk but one none the less, and he wasn't about to let this copy of his sibling anywhere near it. His hackles rose and his feathers fanned once the copy spoke as well, eat him? He unfolded one of those white, feathery wings quickly and covered up his mushroom with it, dipping his head and pulling his shoulders forward. The action only served to make him look strange, and a little larger .... the odd curvature of his ratty spine not agreeing with the pose.
Don't touch Buddy.
He was showing all the signs of aggression, but it was a nervous sort that tended to get a little unpredictable. Nova tilted his head to the side and stared curiously at his sibling ... he'd never seen him act like this before. The only response the triple-breed gave was to grind his beak tips together and make an odd, drawn out. clicking sort of sound. He wasn't sure what was going on in his head. he just knew that this... thing... whatever this other Nova was, made him possessive and edgy.

"Oh yeah, they're awesome," Jak agreed with a smirk, wiggling his non-bony canine butt. "It's too bad you can't seeeee 'em. That's okay, though. And hey, why not? I just wanna touch him with my mouth a little." And his esophagus and stomach. They'd be great friends!
And ooh, ratty-thing was getting all bristley and hostile. Maybe he should go. It wasn't like he could take anything with both of them watching him, and he could probably get away just fine. If they chased him, he'd duck into an alley and quick-shift-melt into some hobo in the garbage. But he kind of wanted that mushroom now. What would happen if he ate it, or took just a taste? Getting at it now would be tough with the Lowlander all hunched and curled.
He lowered his head and made a play-feint at the aggressive male, butt still wiggling like the real Nova. "He doesn't want to play," the Joker whined to his flaming counterpart.

When the Nova-copy made that play feint Brokat let out a horrible squawk like sound and kicked out with a taloned hind foot. The movement put him in an awkward looking position but his talons, gift of the raptor in his blood, was about the only dangerous thing on him besides his partial beak. He just ... didn't trust this, this thing. His tail was also officially bristled and, with how long his fur was, looked absolutely ridiculous.
Nova continued to watch his larger sibling with a confused look and, now, an arched brow as well. That was, of course, until his 'twin' mentioned the word play. Instantly he perked up, tail thumping against the ground for a brief moment before he sprang, aiming to pounce his flaming twin. A happy little chuckle drifted from his muzzle, he was always ready for some fun!
I will! come on... let's wrestle!
And with that a playful little growl rumbled up from his throat.

Jak danced out of the way of the awkward kick, making a mock-unhappy face before laughing at how silly the Lowlander looked. It started out as a chuckle and ended on a high-pitched giggle that sounded absolutely ridiculous coming out of Nova's muzzle and in a parody of his voice. Distracted by the stuffy brother, he missed the warning signs of the pounce and had to fall back a few steps so as not to actually light the other canine on fire. That would make way too much noise. Maybe having fire on his back wasn't such a good idea next time?
"Uhhhhhm, maybe not wrestling," he replied dubiously, craning his head around to stare at his back. "Y'know, hot stuff, and crap like that. Might hurt. Or light something on fire. Besiiiiides, I should probably think about maybe heading towards that door over there and disappearing again. Don't want to cause any huuuuuge family drama when they figure out I survived it all. Life, that is. And... stuff. Um."
Bullshitting was a great skill of his, but not when he was actually concentrating on the bullshit spewing out of his mouth. He wanted to play. He didn't want to involve a fire department. He also didn't want to get so involved that he couldn't get away, especially not when he was totally trying to burgle their house before he made a noise. Herm. Dilemma.

When his look alike moved away the full canine did the first thing that came to mind, pout in that oh so puppy manner. No one ever wanted ot play with him and it just wasn't fair! He flopped his red lined ears to the side and stared at Jak with his best puppy dog look, it worked on his parents so.... maybe, just maybe...
Wait... he was worried about setting things on fire? Did that mean he had a power his twin didn't? One triangular ear perked up and his head tilted to the side, that tail of his thumping against the floor once more.
Can't you do this?
He peered back at his wings and activated one of his abilities. The skin around the bone opened a bit and then both flame and bone disappeared into his furry form, the skin closing as the last lick of flame disappeared. Oy... using that ability still kinda hurt .... but suits was it ever cool.
Brokat simply stared at this 'intruder', but didn't move. Olive eyes did narrow a bit as he watched this little fake with more intensity.... there was just no way his mother would have tossed one of the kids aside, especially if he had kept one of the 'twins'. This one was a fake .... he just wasn't quite sure how this other Nova was pulling it off.
Moderate Ability: He is now able to retract his wings, flame and bone, into his body whenever he desires. He can also extend them separately should he choose (ie: just the bone out, or just the fire), and then jut them both back out when he feels like it. When he does this, the flesh actually opens slightly around the bone to allow it inside, it hurts a tiny bit, but once used to it, he'll hardly notice.

That puppy look would have worked on Jak if it had been kept up much longer, mostly because he wouldn't have been able to stand the thought of the canine unhappy. Especially not because of him. As it was, he stared curiously at the question and then his eyes widened approvingly when the bone wings actually retracted into him. Cool! He could totally mimic that in a not-quite-as-awesome fashion! Score one Joker.
"Ohhhh yeah. That. Er, sorta. Mine's a little different. But, uh, same results." He used his Joker's ability to become a Nova without the wings, which was basically just a melting of the wings into the body and then it looking like they had never been there in the first place. He'd been told that the sliding melt was pretty cool, but only by Amhal, who was really the only one he ever did it around.
He beamed at the other canine. "There. Cool. Problem solved!" And now they could play for a while without starting a fire, and he could get out some of his energy, and then he could book it.
"Tag!" he said suddenly, jumping on Nova before scrambling away.
