Zeki was thrilled to have managed one of his smoothest landings yet--he didn't even have to berate himself for scaring Virtute or making an idiot out of himself, and he exited the plane in almost deliriously high spirits, heart racing as his pulled off his cap. He looked back up to the cockpit.
With her own cap off and hair mussed up, Virtute looked about as disheveled as Zeki felt--but it was far from a bad feeling, and she looked ridiculously cute, that way. He grinned and offered her a hand out of the plane, and couldn't quite find it in himself to let go when she was back on the ground.
He became conscious of several things in the same second: that he wasn't going to let go; that she was warmly, wonderfully close; that somehow she must have been passing it along to him because he felt flushed again, and not purely from the excitement of the plane ride; and finally that he was going to give in to the overriding impulse to just lean in and kiss her.
As the second passed, he did just that, pressing his mouth to hers in a burst of adrenaline-fueled courage.

Once they were back on solid ground, Virtute was all too aware that her feet felt oddly unsteady. She clung to Zeki's paw a bit more firmly than she might have normally as she regained her balance.
Something decidedly odd happened, then. For a moment, she thought something terrible had happened, and she couldn't breathe. Then her eyes had focused again, the shock receding from her system, and she'd realized what was going on. Zeki was kissing her. Zeki was kissing her. She froze until he'd broken away, her eyes going round with terror. Kissing. She was being kissed. Not by her brother, either. It felt completely different - a lightning storm going through her veins. It felt incredible.
So she kissed back, raising a shaking paw to place on his cheek as she did, her eyes slipping closed.
When they finally broke away, she didn't say anything for a moment, her head spinning with the reality of the moment. She'd just gone flying, and then she'd kissed a boy. "I..." Words failed her. "I should probably get going. Sorcha's probably freaking out right about now." Had Sorcha ever kissed a boy? She wouldn't be surprised, Sorcha had pretty much done everything. Such was the benefit of not being plagued by crippling paranoia. But the paranoia was quiet now. Virtute paused, then kissed him again, just for the joy of it. "...Please come see me soon, okay? Thank you for taking me in your plane." Thank you for everything.
One more kiss wouldn't hurt.
