((Ah, no trouble. I almost forgot about this thread! )) "That's so kind of you." Dania said. She sensed that he was confused by her emotional response, and she was little embarrassed by her transparency. She grasped for the words to explain, "I really am excited about it... just, I don't know, it's hard to leave home for the first time. I guess I'm homesick already!" She laughed softly, although the sound was a little sad. She perked up when he asked about her area of study. "You probably won't be surprised that I chose to study literature and writing, with a minor in Torquehelm Realm studies." The written word really was her passion, and she devoured books of all kinds. As much as it was difficult to leave her family and embark on something so dauntingly new and different, the chance to study in the vast libraries of Esterberry under the best professors and teachers was really a dream come true for the bookish girl. Xopek was a sweet fellow, she decided, and awfully helpful. She had expected a snobbish attitude from Cards of the studious realm, but so far had found them surprisingly welcoming and warm. "I'm meeting up with someone quite early and we're taking a carriage together. We expect to arrive around tea-time."

"I had a feeling you would be studying literature. I am a scholar, i travel the realms finding adventure and good books. Ive explored all the known realms and ive picked up books from all of them. I had a wonderful professor back when i was a student. Im sure i can get you in his class."
Xopek was surprised and very happy that there was someone else as into books as him. He gave a smile and wondered about how Dania was happy and sad about leaving. He never had a home really and was raised by the professor to be a scholar. He guessed he couldnt understand what she was going through.
"Dont worry about your family. You'll be able to visit them quite often, isnt your family happy your going to be studying in Esterberry?"
"I was going to head back to esterberry once i completed my work here. Ill go there and ill meet you at this little inn nearby the library. Its called the Booksman's Lodging ill be in the main room. Meet me there and i can show you around."

The rat smiled gravely as Xopek spoke of his adventures. She had personally been only to nearby Avington and the Capital City, otherwise remaining in her homeland. In fact, it was rare that Dania left her small home town. She lived an insulated, sheltered life of work and books and family. The idea that someone had been to every realm fascinated her. She wondered briefly if he was telling the truth-- it seemed impossible that a scholar like Xopek had been through the dangerous wastes of Raemblen Bog and even the treacherous Tulgey Wood and lived to tell about it. Still, what reason would he have to lie? It must be true, as impossible as it sounded.
She was wide-eyed, clearly impressed by his bravery as well as pleased by his generous offer to get her into a class. "That would be great. I mean... assuming I end up going to the school he teaches at." There was no guarantee that she would even get into whatever prestigious college the Esterberry came from.
"I'll try not to worry," She agreed, although she wasn't sure how often she would really get away from classes and studying to return. "I-I think they're happy for me... in a way." Her smile was little strained. "My father would prefer I stay here and work in the shop, but I know he'll be proud of me some day. Right now he's just peeved that he'll have to hire someone else to do my job." Dania laughed softly, only half serious about her father's reason for wanting her to stay at home.
"Bookman's Lodging." She repeated, "That sounds great." It was a little worrisome to her how he said 'the library', as if there was only one, as opposed to... probably hundreds. Still, the name was memorable, and she could always ask for directions once she got there.
Talking with the kind scholar was cheering Dania up tremendously. She began to feel lighter inside as excitement once again outweighed nerves and guilt over leaving her parents behind. She ran a paw over the nearby shelf of books gently, almost lovingly, imagining the huge majestic libraries of Esterberry that awaited her.

Xopek smiled. Dania was really happy he had helped and his offer. Xopek was happy to help and he had made a new friend.
"The library you want to go to to get to The Bookmans Lodging is called central branch library. Its one of the biggest and most famous one in Esterberry."
"I have some buisness to conclude and then im going to take my carriage home to Esterberry. It was very nice to meet you and im happy your going to be studying in the best schools. If you need to find me before tomorrow im over at the big resturant down the road. Ill see you in esterberry, goodbye Dania."
Xopek grabbed his book and turned towards the door. He waved his paw in goodbye at Dania and stepped out of the store. The bell jingled as the door swung shut behind him.
