"No, you decidedly are not allowed to go camping there," Khushrenada replied in amusement, having stayed silent for the majority of the exchange. It was honestly more entertaining to watch his ward chat up strangers, so long as the girl remembered her manners and didn't become too loud in a museum setting. He'd stressed the importance of a quiet voice early in their walk, for the sake of the other patrons of the arts if no one else. It was hard to reflect on beautiful still lifes with noise all around you.
"I also think that you would have more fun with a chipmunk and an owl than you would with a bear or a bandersnatch. You wouldn't be able to chase either of them, and I'm sure that's the first thing you would try."
He threw a look the serpent's way, part appreciaton and part gratitude. The woman was probably used to dealing with children, to engage Mirriam so openly and without awkwardness. He still had trouble figuring out the right avenues to take in conversation with the girl and he'd known her for the majority of her life!
