Arkady didn't mind waiting for an answer. If Laika didn't want to talk about it yet, or even if she didn't want to talk about it at all, that was all right. She let him be here for her, that was enough for him. He licked around her ears, almost a clumsy sort of grooming, though he stayed to the areas that didn't have a lot of dirt on them. Sister or not, he didn't want to get any germs in his mouth. The thought of a bath surged up strong in his mind again, and Ark forced it away.
When Laika finally did speak, Ark went entirely still to listen. His ears tilted towards her and he regarded her with an unusually solemn gaze for his age. He nodded. He knew exactly what she was talking about. The Thing was what his sister had nightmares about all the time. The ones where she woke in the middle of the night howling and shaking and terrified and sometimes even Ark couldn't comfort her enough at all and they had to get Mom.
He understood; he knew about the fear. "No more roses," he agreed, tail wagging hopefully. It was a small thing to give up in order to keep the fear away from Laika. He wasn't too keen to be near them himself again after what had happened that day. He nosed her again, affectionately, and thought that maybe, just maybe, the bath could wait until after a snuggly puppy nap.
((sounds good to me. ^^ <3))
