Eldy gave Mephit her best 'are you stupid?' look. "I didn't say I actually thought you were doing something wrong," she explained in the voice one might use to speak to an Ace. "I was only pointing out that you were being rather paranoid for someone who has nothing to hide." She shrugged. "Really, even if you were doing something wrong, I wouldn't care, as long as you weren't planning to like, kill my family or something. Court politics are dull."
Before she could give another snarky reply to Mephit's comments about her being a traitor, the Deer abruptly turned her back, leaving Eldy blinking and feeling slightly foolish. She frowned, backing up a few paces, and staring unblinkingly at Mephit's back. To be perfectly honest, this whole situation was getting on her nerves. It would be best for her to just leave.
...but Eldy didn't want to. Not yet. Perhaps it was the Torquhelm in her, seeking 'punishment'. She didn't want to play any silly games. But she had nothing better to do, and she was curious to see how Mephit would react to her further 'skulking'. She said she didn't care...but was that the truth?

(Note: Let me know if dear Mephit went too far. She got mighty pissed but ultimately she doesn't intend to do anything other than scare Eldy a little.<3)
Mephit was literally ten seconds away from going back to work. Ten seconds from pretending Eldy wasn't there and allowing the feline to go back to wandering the dungeons as if she wasn't really there. Ten seconds from slowly and painfully extracting this canine's still-beating heart from his chest as he spewed to her his deepest, most intimate secrets.
Yet, before she even laid her hand upon his jaw to lift his gaze to hers, Eldy was speaking. The tone she used was one for Aces - not for established Nobles of the court, not for The Queen's King. In the back of her mind she caught the suggestion of a grin that immediately brought back memories of Pravus when they had played in the dungeons so many many years ago. That feline grin whispered to her 'Are you really going to take that shit from a six?'
Before Mephit realized she'd done it, the rapier had appeared in her hand and she had swung around to point the tip of the blade directly between Eldy's eyes. The deer's serpentine eyes flashed dangerously before narrowing into piercing slits as she activated her fear ability once more. "How dare you speak down to me! Do you think that just because you're The Queen of Hearts' Sister that you have some special privileged? That you can be disrespectful to me and just walk out of here unscathed? I could kill you and not even bat an eye." She emphasized the word 'kill' by activating her Pain Ability. The sensation of the nail slamming into the back of her head would be enough to eventually knock her out and, when it did, the last thing she would see would be the fanged deer's wicked grin and terrifying eyes looming above her.
King's Ability: At will she is now able to summon a thin, bone handled rapier from her heart marking and wield it as though it were a part of her body. The rapier has a few small razor notches at the end of the blade that dig into and pull flesh backwards as it is withdrawn. This blade will automatically unsummon itself against other Hearts, refusing to injure them.
Small Ability: Her eyes are incredibly captivating, staring into them can cause Cards ranked 8 and below to feel very, very afraid.
Strong Magical Ability: When activated, she can inflict mental pain on another card of any suit, once per day. The pain feels like a nail slowly being driven through the other's spine near the skull. Her pain can now knock out another card for one hour, though Queens and some Kings may be able to withstand it.

In the brief second before Mephit turned around, Eldy noticed a subtle change in the set of her shoulders, and, thinking back over what she'd just said...realized she'd gone too far. There was a flash of indignity (was it her fault the Deer had been acting so dumb?) quickly followed by anger, and regret got barely a chance to be recognized before there was suddenly a sword pointed between her eyes. Eldy went very, very still, nearly cross eyed trying to look at the sharp tip inches away from her skin.
Fear now ate at her again, and this time she wasn't as prepared for it. She trembled slightly, ear plastered back against her head. This wasn't what she'd wanted. This time...this time she honestly had no one but herself to blame for this situation. This time, she had nothing to say in response, and gave a small cry of pain as white hot burning piercing AUGH slammed into the back of her head. She activated her pain-ignore ability in response to what she knew was Mephit's pain ability, but it only lessened the blinding sensations. It wasn't enough to keep her from passing out a few minutes later, slumping sideways on the cold floor.
Basic Magical Ability: She can ignore moderate amounts of pain for up to five minutes.
