Falkenhayn was staring at the door blankly. It wasn't going to be dark anytime soon, thankfully, but he had been terrified after falling asleep in the garden. The dark. He hated it. It was scary and he never knew what would come out from the darkness. Benedict thought it was stupid but he could never understand. The question was, however, where the heck was he. Worry flashed across his face as he continued to stare at the door. What would Mommy do....? "Are you trying to burn a hole through the door? Or are you just waiting for it to hit you in the face?" Ben said flatly as he peered over his brother's shoulder. Falks jumped, and nearly fell backwards. "Sorry! No! I was just... thinking. Where are we and where did Vaska go? Why did he leave while I was sleeping?""He's probably just getting into trouble.""But what if he fell out a window and got her? What if Xiven punished him from breaking something? W-what if--""He's fine! Just relax!" Ben snorted before he motioned towards the corridor. "Let's just go to the gardens. Mom is probably having lunch there.""Okay..." The mixed region said as he walked down the hallway. He was still clearly worried about just about everything.

Jovan collapsed happily onto a bench in the middle of the garden, the smell of roses wafting around him was relaxing and he was glad just to melt into the stone seat under the afternoon sun. He'd spent his morning getting his tail handed to him by Alaster and now his entire body ached in a way that he couldn't help but take pride in. He was working hard and Alaster was proud of his skill despite his youth and general lack of hands. The tentacled youth had almost begun to doze off when he was suddenly made aware of another presence in the garden. The steps were light, probably from another child, and it was accompanied by a nervous voice that almost made him think of Vaska. Slowly he reopened his eyes, gazing around in an attempt to locate who had joined him in the garden. If it was Vaska he'd enjoy getting to talk to the strange boy again.

Falks walked slowly as he looked around curiously. Where was everyone? Was he actually alone? The thought made his heart sink. He didn't like being all alone, but at least it wouldn't be dark soon. Nothing would get him if it was still light out.
Someone came into view. Someone he had never seen before. Mostly white. What were those things coming out of his back? Falks's ears flicked forward as he decided to just keep walking towards the person. "Hi!" he blurted out, "I'm Falkenhayn! Who are you?" His wide eyes seemed even wider as he looked the boy over.
Ben perked up as he peered over his brother's shoulder. "I'm Benedict. It's nice to meet you. Are you one of the people in training?" He would have smirked if it were possible. Most people jumped whenever he started talking, so he might as well get all of the surprises out of the way.

Jovan twitched as the voice he'd thought he had heard suddenly came into full hearing range. The sound was high-pitched and a little grating and it caused him to flatten his ears back although he attempted to smile warmly.
He seemed very nice and quite friendly, he also reminded him a lot of Vaska.. Maybe they were related? Whatever the case, Jovan perked up and shifted into a less-sprawled position. "Hi Falkenhayn!" He really hoped he went by something shorter that was a mouthful! Well, whatever the case, Jovan would wait until he was given a nickname. "I'm --" The boy cutoff mid-sentence, staring at the skull head that had suddenly leaned over Falkenhayn's shoulder to introduce itself.
"Uh..." He blinked a few times, trying to shake off the surprise. ...He'd been meeting a lot of people with multiple heads that talked freely, he'd just smile and shrug it off like he'd done with Honker. "Oh hello, Benedict. I'm Jovan, and yes, I'm here for training with Alaster. It's a pleasure to meet you both." There, that didn't sound too forced did it?

Falks' ears flicked backwards when he heard his brother speak, and then flicked them back forward for Jovan's reply. So he was one of the people that Alaster was training? So he was learning how to fight?
"It's nice to meet you!" The cat-bat said as cheerfully as he could muster considering his rather unfortunate voice. "So are you going to be a noble when you grow up?"
"It's a pleasure to meet you too," Ben said before his brother could run away with the thought train. "Falks doesn't mean to put the cart before the horse. He's just terribly curious about new people. We don't often find someone who doesn't run away screaming or just call me a party trick."
It would be nice to have facial expressions. It was a shame his brother either looked paranoid or surprised all the time. He would have actually done something with a face.
"Uh, yeah. Sorry."

Jovan smiled weakly at Falkenhayn's question before Ben was speaking before he could say anything to it. Ben seemed very logical despite being a skull on what appeared to Falk's tail. It made him wonder what their relationship was like... Were they siblings? Or was it something like Honker and his mouth-in-his-stomach?
Well, at least they didn't seem to hate each other.
"I don't mind at all... I met someone not too long ago with a face in their stomach and he was much less pleasant." Jovan chuckled a little awkwardly. "The face, that is. The someone was very nice." The equine mixed rubbed his head with a tentacle before smiling once more. "Nevertheless," he quickly amended his small rambling, "I don't know if I'm going to become a Noble, but I want to be one of the proud people who defend our Court. It is a very honorable job." It had always been his mother's dream.

Both Ben and Falks gave each other looks. Only Ben's was just assumed since he really didn't have proper eyes. However, the brothers knew they were both curious about this interesting person and what they had just said.
Falks was the first to speak, "That's really cool. I mean, training to be a guard if you become a noble or not. My Mommy's a noble. I'm pretty sure she's a spy."
"It's better than saying she's the resident crazy anyway," Ben added. He cheerfully swiveled a bit closer to Jovan. "Since you're clearly on break, would you like to get some lunch with my brother and I? We haven't had anything to eat since our early morning breakfast."
Falks nodded vigorously. He was starting to get hungry, and he might as well bring someone to the kitchen with him. Being alone there wasn't very fun.

Jovan had to wonder what the two thought when they looked at each other... He surely couldn't tell. Falks, is that what his brother had used for a nickname?, seemed perpetually startled and Benedict didn't have eyebrows to make expressions with... Huh.
Jovan managed to keep a polite smile on his face, as he'd done with Vaska, and pretend he wasn't confused.
"A spy? That's pretty cool, my mother wants to be a Knight one day." He wave his tentacles a little with excitement. "One day I'll be able to handle a big awesome weapon too." He wasn't sure what to say in response to Falk's mom being crazy, it wasn't right to judge someone he didn't know... Though he could see the possibility... "Lunch? That sounds great! I haven't eaten since before training." He laughed a little and hopped up off the bench, trying not to be so aware of his body's very ache. "Thank you very much for the offer."
He was still awfully sore, but that didn't mean he'd pass up the chance to make new friends.

For a brief moment Falks' expression changed from that of constant surprise to that of slight disappointed surprise. "I wish I had hands so I could have a cool weapon like everyone else. I can't even hold a weapon in my mouth thanks to my mask." And he didn't have the heart ability to help him understand weaponry. He had to learn it all by himself. Which was great and all but....
Ben would have shrugged if he had shoulders. "Anyway, we should get going. We may have avoided the rush for lunch, but I'm sure they're quite busy. Falks, do you want to lead the way?"
The cat-bat snapped out of his daydream when his brother spoke. "OH sure!" He said after a rather odd sound that was something between a bat like squeak and a mew. Nails on a chalkboard. Maybe one day he would grow into his voice. Probably not. As Falks started walking towards the kitchens, Ben decided to engage Jovan in education.
"So, what region do you come from? Brought up that is. Neither of us have been outside the palace really... so we're both pretty curious."

Jovan smiled slightly, his expression consoling. It would be hard for Falks to use one, the equine mix slid his gave up to Ben. "Maybe you two could work together? I bet Benedict could hold a weapon in his mouth?" It was a long shot, but he was trying to be helpful.
When Benedict reminded them of food, Jovan perked eagerly and wagged his long tail as he followed after Falks. He really did have a very awkward voice, but it wasn't anything Jovan couldn't ignore. After all, he seemed pretty nice whether or not his voice was pleasant.
"O, my region? I'm an albino Josiggy." He shifted as he walked, making a show of his brindle markings. "They're the only things that give it away." Despite being a little different, Jovan loved his stark white coat with the crisp brindle markings. "What about you... two?" Probably not the best description for them... they appeared to be joined at the hip, or tail tip. "You're mostly back and purple... so Torquehelm mix?" But then there was that line of blue... That could've been a lot of things.
