Her ears twitched at the last bit of the statement. The woman had spoken something under her breath, and the Queen didn't want to make assumptions. But she could have swore... herm. Maybe she was just trying put her feelings on the other woman.
Either way, she did want to spend the night and have a tour of the palace. Xiven wouldn't argue about spending quality time with the woman. With the last of her tea drained she placed the cup upside down on the saucer, a clear indication for the servants that the little tea party was done.
Standing up she briefly brushed her fur into place. "Well Miss Calanthe, I think we should be going then. It's quite a big palace and there's quite a bit to show you. Though you could always stay for a bit longer if you like. We have plenty of guest rooms available."

Once she saw the Queen place her cup upside down, Calanthe wasted no time and jumped quietly off her seat onto the ground of the garden. She stood there until Xiven was finished smoothing her fur back into place. Cal herself shook her whole body to make her fur feel fresher after having sat down for so long. It felt good to be up and walking among the flowers again. Nothing could ever beat that feeling for her.
At the mention of staying longer than one night, Cal's ears perked up. It would take her more than just one day to see the entire palace as well as complete Her Majesty's flower arrangement. Spending more time with Xiven would be quite the treat. However, she figured she'd better pipe up now about the matter, in case Xiven had forgotten about that fact.
"Your Majesty Xiven, would it be alright if I stayed until I've completed your flower arrangement? I know I mentioned it back when I first introduced myself, and I am still willing to make one or however many you'd like while I'm here. I did tell your mother Peaches I'd do this for you, and I don't want to go back on my word, unless of course, you don't require my services."
She hoped desperately that last part wouldn't be the case, but she was ready to accept it if it was. Even if it would be with a heavy heart.

Xiven gave the woman a bright toothy smile. The offer was on the table now wasn't it? "You can stay as long as you see fit, Miss Calanthe. I will consider you one of my guests, and I would be more than happy to still receive your services."
However dirty that sounded, it was still quite innocent. Xiven had no intention of taking advantage of the woman, she was just rather thrilled to have such nice company. This was uncomplicated and not laced with an inescapable bag of emotions. It was simple, and she greatly enjoyed it. Of course it would be nice to know someone like this a bit more intimately if they continued to hit things off.
That would be nice. The thought briefly cropped up in Xiven's mind before she focused on the tour at hand.
"Besides the gardens what would be a major point of interest for you. There's quite a few places we can start. And there is plenty of time before dinner."

There was no hiding her happiness now. She responded to Xiven's toothy smile with one of her own. She even tossed in a tail wag, she was just that happy. It felt incredibly good to be wanted, even if it would only be for her professional flower services.
But, maybe. Just maybe. Could she be wanted for something more?
Cal blinked as she regained her focus. The palace. Just looking at it from the outside she could tell it had a vast interior. What could she possibly want to see after viewing the exquisite garden?
"Your Majesty, in all honesty, I never even dreamed I'd be standing here in front of the Court of Hearts. So, if you don't mind, maybe you could show me a little bit of everything there is to see? Maybe we could start with my guest room, so I could drop off my belongings there before embarking on the rest of the tour."
She knew if Xiven was leading the way, things could only get better.

Cal was an interesting woman. Xiven mused for a moment before giving her a nod. "To your guest room them," she said in a cheerful note as she turned out of the garden. It was a good fifteen minute walk, and Xiven was more than happy to small talk with the Yarrow.
It was quite a nice day to, so they took as much of the open path as they could. Xiven couldn't help but bask in the warm glow of the sun as they walked along the halls. What a nice day that the Yarrow had chosen to show up. Of course her mother seemed to have planned this perfectly for one reason or another.
That still made Xiven a bit suspicious, but it was easy enough to ignore with the delightful woman by her side. "Here we go," she said finally opening the door that lead to the guest room. It had a large bed, a bathroom and a nicely decorated set of drawers and nightstand. The white marble and red carpet theme held true to this room.

Cal smiled another one of her big grins as she began to follow Xiven down the path to the palace. The sun felt wonderful on her fur, and it warmed her up considerably.
Halfway to the guest room, Cal realized that her belongings had already been taken there when she first arrived at the Court. How silly of her to forget! Not wanting to make the trip seem like a waste of time, she said nothing, and they continued on their way. It would be nice, after all, to see where she'd be staying for whatever length of time it turned out to be. Maybe she could even rest up a bit before they embarked on the tour, since the trip to the Highlands had been quite the long one. At that point, Calanthe didn't care what happened next, as long as she was by Xiven's side.
Finally, they arrived in front of the polished wood door that was her room. Once Xiven opened it, Cal peeked inside, and almost couldn't believe how spacious it was. It even had it's own bathroom! It was almost as big as her little cottage back in the Gardens, the only difference between them being that her place had a kitchen as well as a work area. As she walked further into the room, she noticed her bags up against the wall closest to the bed. She gave them a slight prod with her nose, and since nothing jingled or shifted, she assumed nothing broke on its way up here.
Turning back towards the Torquehelm Queen, she bowed slightly, then brought her head back up with a smile. "This room is perfect, M'Lady. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I already feel very comfortable here." She would have to try and thank the servants as well, since they took such good care of her possessions.
Looking at the bed, she could tell it would be quite pleasant once she laid down on it. "Your Majesty, would it be at all possible for me to take a short rest before the tour? This bed looks quite relaxing, and I could use a nap. All the traveling and the sun has taken its toll on me." she said with a sheepish grin. She really hoped Xiven wouldn't mind postponing the tour just a little bit longer.

Xiven gave the woman a bright smile. "Of course you can rest, I'll be back in an hour or two then?"
After the response the feline would slip out of the room to attend to a few errands. She still technically had quite a bit of paperwork to do. This would give her the opportunity to get a bit done before she could enjoy herself the rest of the evening.
At least she hoped. Things were going rather nicely so far, so she could only hope that a nap would improve whatever dragging there was. The cat hummed happily as she went about her business. It wasn't every day her mom came home with a stranger that wasn't absolutely crazy. Of course, there were still a few doubts, after all when had things gone well for her in the matter of friendship and other such relations?
The thought made her laugh.
She came back after the time Cal had specified. Knocking lightly on the door.

The smile was a clear indication that Xiven had no qualms with her wanting to take a nap. She smiled back, eternally grateful for this short break. "Thank you, M'Lady. I shall need no more than two hours to rest. Until then..." and she bowed as the Queen left the room.
Once the door was closed, Cal jumped up onto the soft bed, spun around a bit until she was comfortable, and finally curled up to sleep.
--------
Her body seemed to know just when to wake her up. As she blinked the sleep out of her eyes, she realized an hour and a half had passed. Slowly coming down off of the bed, she proceeded to shake her whole body and stretch her limbs in an attempt to wake herself up. Stifling back a yawn, Cal decided to unpack her bags before Xiven returned. It didn't take all that long to unpack everything into the set of drawers. With time to spare, Cal went to the bathroom to freshen up. Just as she was drying her face off from washing it, she heard a knock at the door. Quickly finishing up, she then padded to the door and opened it to see Xiven standing there.
"Hello again, Your Majesty. I feel quite refreshed. That nap was just what I needed. Shall we embark on our tour?"

A bright smile crossed Xiven's face when Cal answered the door. At least she hadn't woken up the woman. The feline nodded, "Yes, let's."
They started with the closest place, one of the smaller gardens. Going from place to place, they ended up covering quite a bit. Of course, it would probably take another day to show her the other various places in the palace if she wanted a more detail tour.
But at the moment they were a few minutes late for dinner. Xiven ushered the canine to the garden they had previously eaten. There was a small table set up for the pair of them, a few little candles to light the space since evening was falling rapidly.
"I do hope you like steak. I wasn't sure what to go with and it seemed like the most logical choice." She said as she motioned for Cal to take a seat.

Responding with a smile, Calanthe began to follow the Queen around various parts of the Court. They visited a small garden first, and from there on out, the rest was a blur. Cal listened as Xiven spoke about each section of the Court. As the sun began to set, they headed back towards the larger garden where they had enjoyed their tea.
Once they arrived there, everything was already set up. There were some candles and plates on the same small table. The lit candles certianly helped as the sunlight was fading fast. Cal took the seat that Xiven offered her, and at the mention of steak, she almost fell back out of the chair. It had been so long since she'd had steak or beef of any kind, since she couldn't usually afford to buy it at the market back home. Her tail wagged a bit in anticipation for their dinner.
"Your Majesty, it has been quite awhile since I've had steak, so this will be a real treat for me. I can usually only afford chicken or some kind of fish back at home, so thank you in advance for tonight's dinner."
Cal really had to contain her excitement. She could feel saliva starting to collect in her mouth, and she didn't want to drool all over the nice table setting. Swallowing it down, she gave Xiven another one of her bright smiles.
