((An odd series of sounds seems to be coming from the street, though if investigated it appears to be nothing at first. See if the pair of you can't check out what those noises were...maybe someone broke into a lab nearby? There are a good few Corvie ones around here. The sign on the door reads "Dr. Zenon". Huh, poor unlucky thing.
Check around and see if you can't find out who broke in and how. If you can get inside creatively, start searching the place, maybe there's something in here to help Iso...either way, searching it all out is a good way to make sure their labs aren't burglarized next.))

Courante's third eye widened in fear as he saw the Corvie behind start to change as more and more of the black substance oozed out of her mouth. Putting his full attention on her by turning away from the door, he could do nothing but stare, as fear seemed to glue his paws to the floor.
The change happened so quickly, that he honestly didn't have a chance to react or do anything to help the poor woman in front of him. She still seemed coherent though, as she looked past him towards the door. It was then that he heard the knob begin to turn again, the person on the other side clearly still trying to gain access into the room.
His mind jumped again when he heard a commotion coming from the street. Not sure what to focus on first, he found himself walking towards the window, to see what was going on. There was some shouting, as he saw a figure scramble away from one of the buildings just a short way down the road.
Courante knew he wanted to be anywhere but here at the current moment. He couldn't even begin to guess who was trying to get into the room, but he didn't want to find out either. If it had been someone either of them knew, they would've said something through the door, right?
Looking back at his unlikely companion, he walked closer to her. With a nervous and hushed tone, he asked: "Are you alright enough to escape from here with me? I don't think we can stay here any longer."
((OOC: I am so incredibly sorry for the lack of posting until now. I promise I will make it up to you! And I will most likely write a long post tomorrow as to why I've been absent until now. Please, I hope you can forgive me for this. I don't think I could ever apologize enough for doing this to you ;___; ))

Iso’s eyes swiveled silently to meet the other Corvie’s then flicked back toward the door. It seemed that whomever had been trying to enter had given up and fled – an echoing crash sounded throughout the streets as the perpetrator made their way into other buildings. Burglaries weren’t uncommon in the Outer Bazaar but the air was filled with menace. She didn’t want to linger here anymore than her strange companion. The doctor had yet to try to adjust herself or check her vitals. She brought a paw to her neck – her pulse had returned to normal – then proceeded to test her reflexes, adjusting limbs one at a time to test for full mobility. I seem to be physically functional. I feel no pain nor can sense any injury.Which was well and good for a preliminary inspection, however there was still the matter of the protrusions she felt sprouting from her head. Hallucination or reality? Either situation had its own set of repercussions. Iso gently removed herself from the bed, wary of the puddle of sick she had earlier purged, and maneuvered toward a mirror on the far side of the room. She closed her eyes while positioning herself, unsure of the image she would meet. Finally, she looked toward the reflective surface…. to find a monster. The collection of horns was frightening enough, but the strip of viscous black substance in a solid stripe down her back was another matter entirely. It seemed almost innocent, comparatively, then stirred - forming angry, whipping spikes as she stared at her own image - momentary outrage bubbling insider her. She tore her eyes away, the black substance whipping from her sides like weakening flagella before being reabsorbed onto the stripe. Suits…She blinked several times and then sighed heavily before joining the stranger at the window. Nothing seemed amiss in the streets, save for the broken glass and haphazardly discarded items littering the cobblestones. Before we proceed, I assume introductions are in order? Dr. Iaso Price, Iso if you please. It appears someone is ransacking the neighborhood – perhaps we should investigate, beginning with the parallel laboratory? It was prudent to determine how and which items the thieves were pilfering – so as to better secure her home. Hopefully Polina was on the alert and had adequately protected the building. Perhaps, if they could apprehend the criminal, they might server a cure for her current… ailment. ((OOC: Oh, please don't worry! Nat gave me a "heads up" on your situation, so don't apologize. You're here now! ))

His mechanical tail twitched slightly as he saw the other Corvie glance at the door once more, almost expecting the handle to move again. When it didn't, Courante felt a wave of relief wash over him, especially when the female spoke. She sounded much better than when he first encountered her, and for that he was grateful. As she moved off the bed and towards the mirror, however, he began to feel a twinge of sadness. The poor woman had gone through such a drastic change in a short amount of time, and he hadn't been able to prevent it. Giving her some time to herself, he moved back to the window to try and see what was happening on the street below.
He looked at the woman when she came up next to him as she scanned the street herself. She then spoke her name, and he learned then that she was a doctor. Courante couldn't help but wonder what sort of medicine she practiced. But that could be given more thought later. He should at least give his name so then they could figure out a plan.
"The name's Courante. It's nice t'meet you, Iso. I say we get out of here, no matter what we decide to do. Although, I can't say I'm not curious about what's going on out there..." he said with another glance to the window.
With that, he moved towards the door, tail at the ready in case someone was still lurking behind it. He rose up onto his back paws and slowly opened the door, just a crack at first so he could take a look. Not seeing anyone in the lit hallway, Courante proceeded to open the door the rest of the way, and with that, he and Iso were off into the night.
Once they hit the street, he looked to his impromptu companion, while motioning across the street. "Is that where you're saying we should go? Are you thinking we can find something or someone there to help you out with your, uh...situation?"
((OOC: Oh, thank god for Nat! And thank YOU for being so understanding. I can't thank you enough for being so patient with me <333))

He was patient… didn’t push her, question or rush her for her reaction to her…. situation. It was most likely a side effect of the ferret relearning Card interaction and fully considering the subtle nuances of basic communications, but nevertheless it was appreciated. Had she the time, she might have thanked him for giving her space to… adjust… but as it was, the very air itself felt…. wrong. Different at the very least, but Iso, who hated anything supernatural or magical, was feeling fear of the unknown. The very air tingled – the spiced scent on the air unnatural and deeply disturbing. She didn’t know what to make of it. For once, the doctor understood the mental anguish her transformation might have on her persona, but for some reason she was unwilling to negotiate that particular terrain at the moment. It was too much for her to process and didn’t seem like something she could control at the moment, so why not address other, possibly more important matters? Her laboratory – her work – might be in danger. What exactly were the thieves after? And was her Great-Aunt safe? Courante, the Corvie repeated. I’m sorry to make your acquaintance under such conditions. Thank you for your kind assistance and I apologize for the mess.Iso returned to the window and glanced up and down the street. I agree. It doesn’t seem safe here. I can’t guarantee answers or help, but perhaps an exploration of the burglarized lab might uncover what the pilferers are after, or why… she shuddered, unable to identify the odd, uneasy feeling she had… tonight appears so unusual. If you would be so inclined to join me, I would be grateful for the company. The Spade stared out the window as she awaited Courante’s answer. She half-hoped this was a dream. That she would wake up to Polina bustling in the kitchen and Aberforth's solid knocks upon the crooked front door. Unfortunately, she was possibly trapped in reality or an unbearable nightmare – either way, Iso wasn’t one to entertain imaginative alternate existences. Finally, she sighed and looked to her companion and headed toward the door. Whether he joined her or not was his business, but she dearly hoped he would accompany her. She stepped lightly into the street and made her way carefully and quietly across the cobbled street. As she reached for the doorknob her eyes glanced upward to catch the sign on the door, “Dr. Zenon.” Hopefully said Dr. Zenon wouldn’t mind the intrusion – there were incongruities to be remedied. ((OOC: Awww... again, no worries! Just glad to have you back on the board to continue the awesome RP!! ))

((Ercole's alley seems to stretch and change until he finally sees the smoke tapering off...leaving him far from where he once was. Good Lord, can this day get any more bizarre? Takio seems to have followed him and both are now standing in an alley that leads toward a building...looks a bit eccentric, maybe a Corvie's lab? The door is hanging oddly on the hinges and there are voices coming from inside! Excellent, maybe they can help you both figure out where you are.
Another voice rings out in the street, calling quietly and hesitantly...someone else?))"Hello? Anyone out there?" A tall, broad-shouldered Josiggy Wolf pads lightly down the street, looking wary and distraught. "Anyone out there?"

It was strange being in the capitol in this form when he wasn't on the 'hunt', but it wasn't exactly a normal trip to the capitol was it? He didn't really know what was going on, but it made him feel uneasy. And to top that all off his feisty daughter was missing. He had to find her before something bad happened or she got herself into trouble... which would lead to that bad thing happening he was sure of it. At the very least he wanted his hearing to be at it's height, and bipedal was the best choice. But, at the very least, he wasn't alone. even though they'd yet to speak to each other he was quite content to stay near this mystery person and follow them until he could figure out where he was and where he needed to be. however, it became apparent with the tapering smoke that they were heading straight for a building.... not much of an escape route really. It made him almost sigh.... almost. Well this, doesn't look promising. He was about to say more, maybe get an introduction to his traveling 'partner' in, when another voice came into the picture. His tufted tail twitched a bit in thought before he spoke again. Besides, the stranger might have already heard him talk before. Yes, over here. By this... door._____ Takio's Tulgey: when people are around him, they tend to hear a faint background whisper of violins until he departs...[[Posting really fast while at school, will get better =3]]

With his wings still stretched over his head to hopefully subside his pounding head, Ercole could feel the heaviness of the air around him begin to clear. He still had no recollection of what had transpired other than the strange darting liquid and the unnerving feeling of blindness in the alley. What had started as an innocent venture to a nearby pub had turned into a strange and unexplainable evening. Just over his shoulder he heard a voice and what seemed to be the faint sound of violins being played. Then another voice… “Who…W-who’s there?“, the Corvie peered through an opening in his wing-cover and discovered a very blurry white blob which looked to be directing him down the alleyway. Flapping his wings back in place, the heron attempted to get to his feet but wasn’t very successful. He crashed back onto the cobblestone street. Nevertheless overjoyed with his unexplained ability of partial sight once again, he turned towards the ‘blob‘, “I-I…can see!” With two blinks, the blob near him began to come into focus. It was another card! A uniquely decorated Biped. Ercole made a mental note to query him on his markings (and his name) later on. He hadn't noticed the change in location until now, probably because of his self created notion that he was blind. The two cards were in what seemed to be a completely different alley. Ercole shrugged, he assumed he was probably in a dream and was bound to wake up soon. There was no feasible explanation in his mind that could explain all of this, might as well enjoy the madness in the meantime, right? The unfamiliar card was pointing towards a door of some sorts. “F-functional things door are, eh? This calls for a d-drink!” He reached into his chest feathers and pulled out a vial. Taking a swig of the blue liquid, he got to his feet. He stumbled but managed to catch himself to avoid a face-plant. A sly smirk formed around his face. This bird was clearly intoxicated, even more so than usual. Ercole hopped over to the door, “W-well, I s-suppose this one has seen better days!” He pressed his head tightly to the wood surface. The feathers on his head flared up as he heard more voices both beyond the door and behind him, though he couldn’t quite make out what was being said in either case. “Oi, t-there are others,” he said as he awarded himself with yet another generous swig from the now empty vial. He beckoned the nearby stranger, “B-bingo! C’mon, I-I’m going in. I’ve s-seen lots of t-these where I’m from.” Grinning at the sign just above the door that advertised the residence of a doctor, thirst began to flare in his eyes, he hoped the lab would have some left over materials to supply a refill of his vial. He twisted the door knob and quickly made his way inside. ((Sorry for the delay! All of my professors decided to pound on the homework the very first day back to class. o.o Also, I'm still trying to get into the groove of things with Ercole. It'll get better, I promise!))

A hand reached out of the darkness behind the Heron and tapped his shoulder. "Excuse me." A voice growled, soft and low. "But, I was under the impression that the Capital had been cleared out. Have you not noticed the state of it?"
Stepping back, the Wolf gives the Bird and the strange creature before it, an odd look. "Corvies, huh? Shoulda' known, shouldn't I? Can't leave your tools alone, not even for a spell like this. Right, all of you, however many there are, please, come out here."
Hefting a short sword and returning it to his belt, the Wolf holds out a large hand with some hesitation. "Name's Evan, Evan Timbing...who are you and what're you all doin' out here?"

Iso had just opened the door (rather, what was left of the door) when a faint strumming of stringed instruments sounded softly behind it. She stopped, paw still on the doorknob, and motioned for her companion to halt, then gestured for him to follow her just inside the laboratory entrance.
The night had been much too strange to risk carelessness – the newcomers could be the very thieves they pursued. The ferret racked her brain for anything that could help protect themselves and felt her fear and anger increase. She had never been much for magic, and now she dearly wished she had endeavored to increase her natural abilities. The doctor had never anticipated having to protect herself until this very moment.
Voices soon joined the strange music and Iso panicked for a brief moment. They could attempt to hide within Dr. Zenon’s lab, but there was no telling whether an intruder was lying in wait. She felt trapped, the feeling manifesting itself physically as the ink along her back began rolling in nervous waves down her back. Finally, she settled for her basic Spade ability. If she doused the unknowns with several gallons of water, that would give she and Courante a distraction as they made their escape – she would easily be able to outrun any followers.
Her ears flattened against her head as one of the strangers, who sounded a bit off-kilter, announced he would be entering the premises. The doctor clutched the wall nervously, fearful of what she would find should the strangers enter. There seemed no alternative options. Before the stranger could reach the threshold, she took a deep breath and bellowed as loudly as she could.
DON’T COME ANY CLOSER! IDENTIFY YOURSELVES!
