It was more than the feline could deal with. True, he supposed he’d gone looking for trouble, in a sense, but it became clearer every second that he had bitten off more than he could chew. Everything just felt off. Farran wasn’t much for instincts or really paying attention for that matter, but even his general obliviousness couldn’t block out the wretched wrongness of everything.
Rosewood kept giving him that weird, startled look every once in a while and now Arkady, who’d been somewhat of a pillar despite all the hard knocks, was shaking uncontrollably. It was cold, sure, but the Villa had an uncomfortable feeling that the little canine was finally overwhelmed. Apparently he and the strange Conall kid grew up together, and his inability to remember him has sent the Solandrian into shock. Or something. Farran inched over so that their sides were just barely brushing – an awkward attempt to ground and reassure his little friend.
After what seemed like ages of debate, though there had only been a few exchanges between the group, the Tulgey made what Farran considered to be an Executive Decision.
That sounds like a great idea.
His shoulders sagged with mutual relief and trepidation at having to go into a Corvie lab (he pointedly ignored the doctor’s glib remark about the officers already knowing about the evenings oddities), but at least they were doing something. Having something to do and somewhere to go was infinitely better than hanging out here waiting for something else even more horrible to happen.
Once they’d nearly arrived at the doctor’s doorstep the Corvie directed him toward the officers’ houses. He hesitated for a moment to catch Rosewood’s eye and gently brushed past Arkady, just to let him know he was still here. When he deemed that his silent communication had been more or less understood, he bolted as fast as he could across the street and few houses down.
Farran loped across the street as fast as his paws could carry him, the ends of his now dirty and slightly bloodied scarf billowing solemnly behind him. Not only did he not want to leave his companions in the company of a Corvie longer than necessary, but he didn’t want to be alone in the city for more than it took to fetch the officers.
He thundered up the steps to the front porch of the house that Dr. Zenon had indicated and hammered on the door as hard as he could.
Hello?! Officers, officers, are you there??? We need your help!!

((There is no reply to Farran's knock and there doesn't appear to be any way into the station, the doors are sealed and everything inside is dark as pitch.))

Arkady swallowed, fighting the urge to be sick. He was doing better, but he was still shaking hard, and not at all from the cold. He was bleeding again freely from his side, and his eyes were wide and terrified. He shook his head at Conall, still unable to believe this. "D-don't worry," he managed, and despite how gross he'd found the boy's fur problems in the past, right now he longed for nothing more desperately than to hug him. But that wouldn't help, not when Conall didn't remember anything at all. He nodded at the suggestion, the movement odd and jerky. Of course, there was no way he'd leave them to go off on his own, not right now.
"We're...um. Near a pub." Ark didn't know the city very well, having only been here a few times, and in the odd clammy emptiness of the streets, there was nothing familiar. He subsided into silence, following along as Zenon led them to her lab, keeping his pace to match with Conall's as closely as he could. He also tried to stay close to Rosewood. He felt safe with them. He whimpered a bit when Farran left, returning the bump by burying his nose briefly in the Feline's fur, and then he followed on to the Corvie's lab. At least with so many of them, they should be all right...
He jumped, heart pounding wildly with fright, every hair on his body standing up, as Zenon swore like that. What was the problem? He was almost afraid to look. He skittered nervously behind Rosewood's legs and stayed there, breathing quickly and shivering worse than ever. Farran was right. Ark had really had about as much of this as he could take, and was slowly being consumed by primal terror.

Rosewood gave a small shrug. The police would at least provide them with a little bit of moral support if nothing else. He was sure at least they could contact the Courts with greater ease than he could. A letter wasn't going to do anyone much good.
He walked in silence, keeping a close eye on the boys. Suits only knew what would happen if he lost them while walking.
The swan watched calmly as the feline ran off in the dark to get the police. Well at least he wouldn't be seeing the horrible sight for much longer? He took a deep breath and sighed as they entered the woman's lab.
Well. Damn. That wasn't normal. "Apparently there are other people wandering around tonight, he said as he took a step into the room, avoiding a broken bottle." He motioned to Arkady and Conall to stay there. He gave a general look at the chaos. There didn't seem to be much of a pattern to the looting at first glance. "At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, can you tell if anything important is missing?"
Conall was confused as he looked to Arkady. The boy seemed terribly upset, and as much as Conall wanted to comfort him, he wasn't sure what would help. The silence in the city didn't help the mood much either.
When they arrived at the lab he peered around the swan to look inside. He didn't catch the hint that he was supposed to stay behind him "just in case" and slipped past him to look around. He poked at a bottle that actually wasn't broken. Apparently the person who had ransacked the lab hadn't completely destroyed everything.

The woman was barely aware of her companions as she stormed through the mess, the occasional curse still flying from her mouth. She swore in all of the languages available to her: The native tongues of Solandria and Corvistowne, Common, the Diamond House tongue, once or twice in the Heart language... A few curses in assorted other languages even escaped her, ones she had picked up from patients throughout the years.
Her feathers fluffed with rage.
She had locked the door. She would have been a fool to have not locked the door, and Zenon was not a fool. Cruel, perhaps. But this... This crossed a boundary. She held up a bottle of what had once been a potent mood serum and was now shattered (and dry) glass, the volatile compound having long since evaporated away. She clacked her beak angrily, shaking her head. "Not just from looking at the mess they've left, no.[/b]" The words were short, snappish. Then, the doctor took a deep breath, and closed her eyes. No need to take it out on the Swan.
"...Give me a moment and I'll tell you if there is or not. If you wouldn't mind, just... Pull the undamaged things out and start making piles?[/b]" Suits, she could feel a headache coming one. She rubbed her forehead with a talon and then started to pick up the papers that had been scattered.

Arkady didn't really need to be told to stay where he was...he really didn't want to come face to face with whatever had made that mess. For that matter, he didn't want to get any closer to the angry Corvie, either. Really, he just wanted to curl up into a little ball until all of this went away. He shivered hard, closing his eyes and trying to get a grip. It took a few moments, but he managed to get something of a handle on his panic, so that it was down to the level of 'scared of every shadow' instead of 'HELP HELP I'M GONNA DIE'.
This accomplished, he slowly opened his eyes...and whimpered as he saw Conall already exploring the lab. He wavered in indecision for a moment, but the other boy was obviously confused, and Ark didn't want to be responsible for something bad happening to his friend. He ran over to Conall, though his legs felt a little stiff and unwilling to move, and fine tremors still shook his body and made his fur puff a bit. He nosed over a broken beaker, carefully, and then paused as he heard Zenon's request. Well, she seemed to be a bit calmer and...and she was actually part Solandrian, wasn't she? How had he not noticed that before?
Oddly, the observation returned a small measure of calm to the young Coyote, and he began carefully looking for things that were still intact among the mess. Finding an upended lab table, he pushed it back into its proper place and began to make piles of the notes that had been on it, books and loose pages alike covered with diagrams and a surprisingly legible scrawl...and now hopelessly out of order. Well, that would fall to the scientist herself to put right.

Rosewood sighed. So they were going to clean up the lab before she took a look at the two boys? Somehow that didn't seem like a particularly great idea, but who was he to complain at this point. The two boys seemed to already have crossed the threshold and started helping.
The swan went to work in a small section of the lab collecting the various paperwork and a few odds and ends that didn't seemed to be damaged and just thrown about in all of the madness.
Conall was picking up bottles and putting them on an undamaged table. He couldn't help but wonder why someone would trash a lab as badly as this. What was the Corvie working on that was so fascinating? She certainly had a lot of materials to work with. Would she actually be able to "help" him?
It was really weird that he couldn't remember people. He could remember things, and random knowledge that wasn't particularly useful at the moment. But the large gap in his memory was terribly frightening.
Glassware. There was a lot of it to avoid on the floor. He should probably focus on that rather than how strange things were.

Only a few moments passed before Farran realized how quiet and dark the building seemed. This fact only fueled his distress into a full-blown panic. Not now! Come on!! He pounded harder and harder on the door to no avail.
Shit! Hello?? HELLO?!
The feline found himself hammering on the door with all his might. After a while his arms began to ache, so he quit, muttering curses to himself and ran around the building to see if there was some way in. He wasn’t sure what he was doing, only that he couldn’t believe their luck was so awful that not even the police were around to help on this strange evening. Huffing and puffing after criss-crossing over the threshold, running down the sides of the building and trying several unsuccessful attempts to rattle the gates that were so very obviously locked up tight - he finally gave up. Farran aimed a kicked at the front porch and found himself hobbling down the street toward where he’d left the group. At least the pain made him forget, however briefly, how terrified he was of everything that had happened so far.
As he approached the house he had seen the others enter, renewed fear washed over him. The door had been left ajar and the remnants of broken glass lay just instead the doorjamb. The Villa hesitated slightly, but at the sound of familiar voices he relaxed a bit and made his way carefully into the laboratory… which turned out to be an absolute disaster.
His jaw hung open as he made his way gingerly around the detritus. Just great. Like he needed more surprises.
What happened? Is everyone okay?
Everyone appeared more or less as he had left him, though Zenon was clearly pissed off and Arkady looked like he was trying not to wet himself. Both the younger boys looked like they needed medical attention and now the doctor’s lab had been ransacked. Guh.
Um… I hate to be the bearer of more bad news, but the station is locked up and appears to be deserted…

((There appear to be a massive amount of basic supplies missing; hypodermics, tubes, beakers, and other various equipment. Many things broken are experiments in progress, or test animals.
Looks as though the person who broke in was searching for a way to build using their own materials, how odd. Maybe you should re-check the Police station... Or perhaps you ought to see if heading back to the main Capital will help you find other people. Or maybe it would be better to keep digging through the lab and see if you can find anything left behind...
Up to you all, really...but someone should look at those boys before they get...sick....))

The papers were quickly tossed onto a table, in a slightly lopsided stack. There would be time to actually sort through them later. Right now she had to get her wits about her again.
Medical supplies. She turned to the cabinet and groaned audibly - the doors were open, the supplies strewn about like almost everything else had been. Before she could do anything about their injuries, she had to figure out what was still there. Already, she was getting a good feeling of all that had vanished. Mostly, it was supplies that she'd very recently purchased... That made her fur stand on-end. And so much work, all of it on the floor or outright gone.
"Right, because tonight needed that sort of improvement...[/b]" she mumbled, not even bothering to turn to look at Farran. There was an Ace missing, as well as a Bander. She was so close with the two of them, and now she'd have to start everything over... The woman growled under her breath, then spied her doctor's bag. It had been tossed aside, but didn't look as though it had been opened. The supplies within were rudimentary, but enough to stitch one boy and look over the other. "Find a seat and sit down. Let's get you patched up and get out of here.[/b]"
To start, she focused her attention on Arkady. His wounds were simplest to treat, and it didn't take her long to put stitches into the gash. Then, she sat up and motioned for Conall to come close. "We'll have to go into the main part of the Capital to run blood tests if we want to find out if you've been drugged... I can at least do a physical examination here, though.[/b]"
