Arkady listened with rapt attention as Castiel explained the game with the strange name. It had a lot of rules, didn't it? It -did- sound kind of fun, but while he was still forming his opinion on it, Conall objected. Arkady was about to counter when he paused to think it through. Considering how greasy Conall was, it was probably a better idea that he didn't risk getting any of his oils onto Castiel through games that required direct physical contact. Right, then.
He listened to the remaining games, ears flicking as he thought. He should probably give his opinion, but in the end it didn't matter what they played as long as it was fun and let them pass the time in the carriage. He half turned to Conall again, and, his tail wagging hesitantly, ventured, "Well...what about Bull? I think Conall wanted to hear about that one." It seemed a safe bet. And it apparently didn't involve slapping, so that was a good thing, too.

"The goal of Bull is losing all the cards in your hand. We would split the cards between the three of us. the first person picks a card from their deck, says what it is, and places it on a center pile. However, they can lie about the card they put face down, and if someone doesn't believe them they can say "Bull." If the person lied they have to pick up the entire discard pile, if they told the truth the person who called Bull has to pick the the entire discard pile." She explained cheerfully as she continued to shuffle the deck.
Conall listened silently his ears perking forward at Arkady's comment and Castiel's following explanation. That game actually sounded interesting and fun to play. "Well, I'd be okay with that one." He said as he watched Castiel continue to shuffled the deck. At least this game would distract them from the long ride to the Highlands.

Arkady listened, and he felt his tail start wagging, slowly, and then a bit faster. This game wasn't complicated at all, really, and it sounded easy enough to pick up and play! He wasn't sure why someone would ever lie about what cards they had, but he was sure that would be clear once they started playing. He nodded to what Conall was saying.
"Yeah, let's play that, Cas!" His tail kept up a constant beat, and his ears were perked. If it was a fun enough game, maybe he could teach it to his siblings and they could play it when they were stuck inside and had to have quiet fun because their mother was working. He leaned his head forward, looking on curiously as Cas shuffled the cards. Someday, when he had hands, maybe he could do that too! For now, he'd leave it to her, and maybe Conall if his hands were actually clean.

Castiel looked victorious. "All right! It's Bull then!" she chirped cheerfully as she split the deck between the three of them. The game would keep them busy for a while, and they would make it to the Highlands in no time. It was a fun and easy game that could take hours to complete.
Of course if they were particularly fantastic at bluffing the game could end quickly. Castiel wasn't particularly good at picking up on tells, she she was more focused on playing the game for the fun of it all.
Conall was actually having a good deal of fun, even if he was terrible at telling if someone was telling the truth or not. That or he just had bad luck when it came down to it. Ending up with half the deck in his hand seemed to be a pattern throughout the game.
But the ride was going smoothly and they would make it to the Highlands without incident.

Arkady had the feeling that he was probably going to be terrible at this game, but he was surprised to find that even though he thought he was a bad liar, he was able to bluff his two friends a surprising amount of the time. Or maybe it was just the fact that he was able to keep a straight face better than they could. Of course, he was way too shy to call anyone out on anything at first, but as the game really got going he got more into it. Even if it was a false positive, it was kind of fun to yell 'bull' and eagerly flip the top cards over.
The game made the time pass so quickly that when he half glanced out the window and saw the grass of the Highlands rolling by in great green waves, he was shocked. "Hey...are we here already?" he asked, tail wagging and ears perked. The game was starting to draw to a close anyway, at least it seemed like it.

Castiel looked outside the window with a curious expression at Arkady's statement. They were in fact in the Highlands all ready, and it seemed like the carriage was slowing down. The human girl shifted a bit to look outside of the window properly. Oh good! She had told the man to drop them off at the proper inn, that was it in the distance.
"Yep! We're here! The driver is dropping us off at this one Inn I heard about. This should be a blast!"
Conall looked up from the game and out the window. Card games really were good for passing time. He would keep that in mind for later... not like he had that many other people he played with....
When the carriage came to a halt Castiel cheerfully opened the door and hopped out before anyone had a chance to help her. The driver looked a little flustered by the girl's actions, but she went over to properly pay him.
Conall managed to tear a bit more of the fabric on his way out. With a small grimace he smoothed a bit of the fabric back up onto the wall. At least it didn't look too awful when it was like that? Silently he slipped out of the carriage and went to stand by the inn door.
It was a cozy little place that didn't seem to be all that busy at this time of day.

Arkady's grin widened at the confirmation. So they were here! It would certainly be good to stretch his legs after so long in the carriage. Time flying by not withstanding, his muscles still felt cramped from being in the same position so long. The Coyote pup made a small noise of protest as Castiel hopped out without any help, but, in a way that was just who she was. So he grinned and followed, leaping easily out of the carriage and shaking a bit to get his mane to lie right.
He looked curiously up at the inn Cas had requested. This was certainly somewhere he'd never been before, if nothing else. He'd taken numerous day trips to the Highlands, but never any more than that. They were still probably a bit farther south of the Court than he'd been before, too. "All right, where to first?" he asked, turned to look at Castiel for guidance, tail wagging cheerfully. Once again, he was determined to have fun.

Castiel bounced on her heals as the carriage driver drove away and Arkady spoke. That was a good question. They could be responsible or they could wander around and get into trouble.
"Let's look around town! I know there are a few things around here, so I'm sure we could have a blast!" She said cheerfully as she started walking towards a quaintly decorated little shop covered in vines. The girl didn't even look back, as she assumed the pair were following her.
Conall never expected her to turn around and do the responsible thing. She was Castiel. For once however, he could honestly careless. It had been a long ride and walking seemed to be a wonderful idea. He followed, humming a bit as they went.
The shop's outside was poorly taken care of, or at the very least the owner was having trouble with keeping the vines properly trimmed. The shop seemed to have no proper title in sight, and from the window it seemed to be a thrift store. "Should we look around?"
"I've never... been in a store like that," Conall remarked as he nearly pressed his nose against the glass.

That sounded like a good idea to Arkady. After all, he fully trusted that himself and Conall could keep Castiel out of too much trouble. And it certainly was an interesting looking town. Besides that, he just wanted to spend more time with his friends. Tail wagging, the pup followed the girl, making sure their steps echoed a half beat behind each other as they walked over the cobblestones. He slowed as they approached the shop, and sat down to take a look at it.
Were the vines there because of neglect, or was it actually intentional? It was honestly a bit hard to tell. In a way it might be sort of an interesting look, to draw travelers like themselves into the shop. Or maybe the owner was just lazy. He tried sniffing around, but all he could smell from here was plants and a slightly musty scent. "Sure, let's go in. Just be careful," he warned, though he wasn't too concerned about a place like this. He just wasn't sure that it wouldn't have some sort of odd magical items on display that could potentially be dangerous. He nosed the door open for the other two.

The door swung open with a cheerful ring when Arkady pushed it open. There was a feline behind the counter cheerfully browsing a magazine. She waved to the group of children was they entered the shop.
It still didn't have anything properly labeled. Despite not seeming to have a central theme, the store had some sort of order. The various odds and ends were neatly arranged despite china and books being mixed with doilies and clothing. It had a welcoming sort of air and faintly smelled like cinnamon.
Castiel entered the store, thanking Arkady as she went, and wandered over to one of the shelves that had a variety of books and knickknacks on it. Conall wandered in last, per usual, and paused to scope out the surroundings. Were they the only ones in the store besides the woman behind the counter? He wasn't sure if that was comforting or not.
He decided to slowly wander the store on his own, keeping an eye on Castiel. Suits only knew what trouble she could get in.
