Webster squinted his eyes closed when the splinter was removed, it did hurt after all, but it wasn't enough to keep the chipper little feline down. He brushed himself up against the man's legs in a feline display of gratitude before looking up at him with a bright little smile.
Thanks mister!
After that he skipped cheerfully back over to the highlander, favoring the paw the splinter was in a little bit, and snuggled himself up against her once more. He was quite partial to this stranger, she seemed so very nice.
But then the group started to move soon after and he got to his paws once more and followed. He kept up with them the best he could but he wasn't the fasted, nor the most coordinated of the lot.
Talaith remained unconvinced of this man's 'good intentions' after he'd removed the splinter from the smallest one's paw. That could be an opportunity to do something small with little effort to win the others over. Nope, she wasn't going to buy that, and she wasn't going to join them yet either because of those suspicions.
Instead she moved out from her hiding spot and followed behind them, trying to stay out of sight by sticking to the walls and ducking behind things. Hell, if he -was- being sincere and not devious, she could at least get her bearings and get out of here and return to the warren ... or maybe she could use this as a way to fake her death and vanish? That sounded good too. either way though, she needed to figure out where she was in the capitol.

Evaline had wandered into the Capital earlier, hoping to get out of the house for a few hours and check things out. A rather beautiful rose garden had caught her attention and when she peeked in she was greeted by Amorette. Amazing how quickly they had made friends, and then they were out to the streets to play. It had been a few hours when things started to seem. . . weird. All sound disappeared besides their voices and the two girls were unsure what to do. A vague feeling of wrong began to make them both nervous and the girls had found a rather nice hiding spot to hole up in for a while, hoping that whatever this was would pass. A group of other Cards, the first they had seen in quite a while suddenly began to wander by. And at the sight of another younger card with them they both leaped out of their spot. "Excuse me! Umm. . . could we follow you? We aren't sure what's going on and. . . " Amorette trailed off, not wanting to admit that she had begun to get quite scared at the lack of people and noise. It just wasn't NORMAL. Evaline moved out the shadows a little slower. . . she wasn't so sure about these strangers. But the younger boy seemed okay.

((Farrago turned in surprise at the sound of more voices...and completely missed the fact that long fingered hands reach out of nowhere with a rag and, slapping it over Othello's face, vanished without a sound.))
"And who 're th' two of you, now?" He asked, coking his head to the side to stare at the pair in bemusement. "Really, I gotta say 'm surprised t' see so many people around...thought everyone had been evacuated."

Amorette balked at the sudden attention, even though that was what she had been hoping for. In some small part of her mind she had convinced herself she had gone crazy and that nobody was really real. At least. . that's how it had seemed to be until the pair had run across this group. Where WAS everyone?
Evaline cleared her throat carefully "I'm Evaline, this is Amorette. . . we were playing and. . everyone disappeared. Honestly you're the first people we've seen!" She stretched her shoulders slightly, trying to calm herself down.
Amorette fluffed her wings uncomfortable and looked off down the street with a saddened look. What was going on? As if echoing the bird mixes thoughts Evaline spoke again after a short pause.
"Do you know what's going on? It's like everyone vanished. . . . It just doesn't seem right out here." She wiped gently at her face with a back of a paw to rid it of some of the ever-flowing blood, a nervous habit.

Webster walked with his tail high and curled in a happy position and a grin on his face. Obviously for the kitten this whole strangeness just wasn't bothering him yet. He had fun company and they were taking him somewhere and it would probably be loads of fun as well.
But when the girls came into the picture he stopped, ears perked and whisker flared, and stared for a moment. That was the one thing that was missing from this picture, more cards around his own age.
After they introduced themselves he bounded over to the pair, his tender paw almost forgotten and definitely not babied anymore. Cheerfully he weaved himself between them, purring a greeting and brushing his fur against theirs. Quite obviously he had no concept of the concept that people had bubbles of space that they didn't like having violated, and he didn't care really. Strangers were just possible friends after all.
Hi! I'm Webster.
Had he ever even introduced himself to everyone else? He couldn't really remember. Also, in all of his cheerful distraction, he didn't notice the disappearance of Othello.

Amorette blinked rapidly when the boy just suddenly started rubbing all over her. She had never met anyone before that introduced themselves in such a friendly manner. She giggled a little before quieting and nodding to him after he told them his name. The mix was grateful they had found others, and that fact was beginning to make her feel a little better. Amorette quietly walked a few feet from the group, she was honestly still a little overwhelmed by everything that was happening and just wanted a bit of space. With a quick flick she bumped over a pile of trash with a foot and idly looked through the now scattered junk.
Evaline was made a little more uncomfortable by the kittens greeting. She was always so conscious of keeping her face away from everyone else, worried about dripping blood on them and being shunned because of it. But this one, Webster, didn't really seem to care or even notice. Definitely a surprisingly nice thing.
"Nice to meet you Webster. . . do you guys know what's going on at all?"

come on, we should all get going, right?
He looked at the girls and then looked toward the highland wolf before trotting back over to her with his tail held high and in a half loop. He was a rather happy kitten and nothing ever really got him down anymore except when he started to miss his pap of course. The other felines disappearance had made him cry and mope for days as he waited for his return.
As the group moved further away, Talaith noticed that the hiding places got fewer and farther between until there wasn't any way she could get to them unnoticed. Well, crap ... now what? She still didnt' fully trust the jossiggy, but she didn't have any alternatives left ... she had to join the group.
She moved out of her hiding place and came from the opposite direction of of the girls, after making sure her costume was still in place of course. Who knows what they'd do if they found out she was a rabbit!
Can I .... come with you too?

((Farrago had re-shouldered his bow and begun to head out while the children chattered when anther form stepped out of the shadows, tense and nervous now at the size of the group, he barely even looked at the newcomer, focusing on the surroundings, trying to listen for anything unusual.. "Cor, there's a load of yeh all around t'night. Sure, why not. Evaline, introduce everyone t' our new friend in th' coat will yeh?" He asked, giving the girl a half-bow and a little smile. "Thanks, m'lady. Now, please stay close, try not to touch anythin."
He stalked ahead of them, leading them down a few side streets before stopping and cursing under his breath. "Jus' a moment." He muttered, sinking his talons into the crumbling stone of a wall and up onto a ledge. A wan, yellow orange color was visible nearby and he let out a flat hiss, feathers going slick down along his neck at the sight. "Effin' Lowlanders!" He hissed as he slid back down. "Kepe together, 'n keep yer heads down, we'll be goin' near their camp, try not to make too much noise. Sir." He gestured to the Corvie Rat. "Try to keep the boy quiet, he might not understan', we're in terrible danger, aye. Keep close now." He begins to skirt down an alley, keeping low, waving the group after him and trying not to make much sound.
Everyone needs to roll a die (20-sided) for how quiet you can manage to be in the next post for each character.))

The kitten moved forward to greet the new stranger in a similar matter to the girls, but the leveret hopped back and put a paw up, placing it on his chest, to stop him. She wanted no more contact with these filthy beasts then was absolutely necessary. Although she did find the strange child rather adorable... for a beast of course.
I heard all your names already. I'm .... Talaith.
Eh, not like any of them would recognize her name, and she'd rather be called by it then some alias. Whatever, at least the group was moving, and when she was told to be as quiet as possible? Oh.... you didn't have to ask her twice!
Webster on the other hand? Well, he side stepped the rat and went straight for Farrago himself, since the man was acting curious and a little different. He officially had the kittens attention .... for now.
Farrago had said the magic words to unleash a barrage of questions from the young feline.
Hey, what'd you see? Can I see? Lowlanders? Why are you worried about them? What're they doing?
He peered up at the avian mix with wide, curious eyes.
[[ I'm going to assume that the lower the roll was, the noisier, yes? Talaith [20] Webster [3] ))

Amorette was surprised to see another join their group. Funny how you could feel so lost and alone for so long, and next thing you know a huge group just seems to congregate on its own. She was feeling better with her safety in numbers. But this false calm shattered when she noticed Farragon, their guide of sorts, suddenly get rattled by something. Lowlanders. . .? A shot of anger went through her small body and she nearly snapped at him. What was so bad about lowlanders? Nothing! Perhaps he was the sort of person that had her father hide in the back of the store all the time! Just because they weren't always the prettiest, didn't mean they weren't good people! She was shaking she was so angry and she finally spoke up, breaking the silence their 'guide' had asked for, though she still kept her voice reasonably low.
"Lowlanders aren't bad you know! They're decent people like anyone else!"
Evaline watched the sudden transformation of her new friend with a bit of wonder. She had only known the other girl for a day, but with how soft-spoken and sweet the younger girl was, she just assumed the Ranger wouldn't be possible of an outburst, quiet voice or not.
To Evaline's horror, she was so caught up in this surprise that she let her claws catch in the cobblestones beneath her and tripped, falling into a nearby trash pile. . . . When she caught her balance her eyes were huge, had she just gotten the group into trouble?
"I'm so sorry" She mouthed to Farragon, shaking slightly in fear of what they might be hiding from.
(Amorette=11, Evaline=2 . . . ooops)
