Poe, of course, had her momentary doubts but ultimately they were all discarded.
There would be too many conspiratorial inconsistencies if it were a lie and it would mean that both Xiven and Othello were playing her for a fool. It was easier to simply believe that they were both being honest.
"I see." The finch offered an apologetic little chirp. "That must be terribly awkward to deal with." She was proud to see he managed his burden fairly well, but that was most likely a product of age and experience. "Has it been like this your whole life?"
The finch paused, realizing she was probably prying or rubbing a sore spot a little too much. "I hope I'm not being too much of a pest with all these question... If you'd like me to stop, I will." The finch blushed a little beneath her feathers, suddenly feeling terribly rude. "You see, I used to be very interested in clairvoyance as a child and though I never picked up the art, the fascination never faded. I can't help but be a little curious."
Poe had been half-watching Kamina for some time now. A little smile curled up on her beak as she watched the girl flop onto the pile of stuffed animals and begin to purr without restraint. She was utterly adorable. She also seemed to be a bit... dreamy? It reminded Poe of her own highs and made her wonder what exactly that sweet-smelling smoke drifting from Kamina was.

Xiven was never really sure what to think of Othello. At times she could only believe that he had some sort of ability that allowed him to look in the past. He could quote events that were never spoken of on a regular basis. He knew the truth behind rumors. But sometimes he spoke of things that could hardly be possible.
"I've had it thince I was born," he said with a small shrug. He could only tell who his siblings were and what his parents looked like because of Xander. He had been nice enough to give him details about everything. That was until he just decided to become a douche bag of the highest proportions. Something about teenage angst.... "It's not a bother. Most people just pat me on the head and call me crazy. Thank you for believing me."
Kamina sighed happily as she dragged one of the stuffed animal's closer, nuzzling it.

Poe brightened rather quickly. Oh good! She really hated to think she might have been coming off as rude. Othello was such an enjoyable child and Poe didn't want to ruin their first meeting with pressing buttons about a potentially sensitive subject.
"You're very welcome, Othello. I don't think you're crazy at all. Strange things happen to perfectly sane people every day. I know more insane people than I'd honestly like to admit." Though he wouldn't be able to see it, Othello would easily hear the smile and hint of laughter in her voice. "Perhaps on another one of my visits we can exchange stories? I'd love to hear more about what you've seen."
The finch fluffed up happily at the thought of getting to spend more time with Xiven's family. Despite the unusual mutations, Xiven's children had proven to be everything Poe had expected: They were wonderful, very well behaved, and intriguing in their own rights. She was already looking forward to meeting the others.

The boy blushed something awful at the woman's comment. She was very nice, and terribly sweet about this entire thing. His metallic hand's digits tapped lightly on the floor. Would she really talk to him about things like that? "T-thank you," he said after a moment of trying to collect himself. "I'll hold you to that."
Kamina snuggled against the pile of soft things. In a few moments she had nodded off, purring like a motor as she curled up. She was blissfully unaware of everything in those moments.
Xiven smiled, as she leaned on the door frame. Now was probably a good time to leave the children. "We should get going, but I think its safe to say that you have a job here, Poe." She watched the boy perk at the sound of the news. It was nice to see him cheerful about something.

Today was just wonderful. Everything had gone so smoothly, she couldn't have dreamed of a better reunion with Xiven and now she even had a way to repay her! Not to mention that she already greatly enjoyed Othello's company and looked forward to talking more with him in the future.
"Good, I expect you to."
Xiven's news was the icing on the cake of her day. Poe let out a happy little chirp, delighted to see that Othello's reaction was equally as cheerful. Wonderful! "Thank you very much, Xiven. It'll be a pleasure."
However, The Queen was right. It was probably time to get going. She had a long trek home yet and she still wanted to discuss some things with Xiven. "It was wonderful meeting you, Othello. I look forward to seeing you soon." She turned to say goodbye to Kamina, but the lovely little feline had already fallen soundly asleep. "Also, your sister appears to have fallen asleep on the stuffed animals but if you could say goodbye to her for me once she wakes I'd greatly appreciate it."

"Bye, Miss Poe," Othello said with a smile. "I'll tell her when she wakes up." Hopefully the little girl would remember who Poe was. Sometimes she spaced out to an extent that even Othello wasn't able to comprehend. He gave the bird a wave with his mechanical hand.
He really wished he could have seen her. Maybe Mom would tell him what she looked like....
Xiven smiled, giving her son her usual goodbye before departing with the other Torquehelm. They still had a bit to talk about, but at least that was out of the way. Othello and Kamina had taken well to the woman, and she actually wasn't utterly terrified by either of them.
"Thank you for accepting the job offer. You're a real life saver." The Queen said as they walked down the hallway. It would be a bit before they arrived at her office. "We can hammer out the details when you're ready to put yourself into the job."

Poe smiled cheerfully at the boy (so sweet!) before slipping out of the room with Xiven. It was rare for her to be in such good spirits in a situation like this. Usually her nerves ate her when she was dealing with lots of new people, especially when she was fairly sober.
"You're very welcome, Your Majesty. Really, it's an honor to help out and to spend time with your children. They're both wonderfully sweet. I can't wait to meet the others as well." The little finch chirped happily, hopping a little as she walked. "It'll be a little bit before I can come out here officially, but I really do look forward to making an extended stay."
Once to the Queen's chambers, Poe would sit and talk a while longer until the time came that she had to leave. It would be a long, late night carriage ride home, but well worth it.
