Each movement carried an elegance to it that he knew his own movements were lacking, but that didn't bother the King. He knew he could beat Xiven in a fight without either of them using magical abilities beyond that which he used to summon his weapon. This woman was fast, but he could see a flaw in her movements.
Both of theirs, really. They were so involved in what they were doing, they didn't even seem to notice that they were being watched... Wasn't that fun?
A bright flicker went through the man's eyes and he ran his tongue across the points of his teeth, already feeling his heart pound with anticipation. He stepped forward, following their movements with bright eyes. Even for a Heart, Apocalypse knew he was a damn good fighter. It only made sense, considering what he had once been. His entire purpose in life had been to fight. He wasn't afraid of being injured, as the multitude of tight scars across his torso would prove better than any words, and that gave him an unpredictability that was almost impossible for an opponent to deal with.
He made his move as soon as the strange King made her acrobatic flip, muscles tensing as he slipped between the turned backs of the woman and his Queen. In a flash, his scythe appeared in his hand and he slipped the blade around so that its curved blade barely touched her torso. He raised an eyebrow slowly, tilting his head to the side.
"Be gentle with my Queen," he said, a teasing note in his tone as he regarded the stranger closely. "She's pregnant with my children, I'd hate for anything to happen to her... or them."

She had not anticipated a flip by any means, and a thrilled sound escaped her.
Of course the fight came to a rather sudden halt as Apocalypse was suddenly there. And he happened to announce that she was pregnant. The Queen growled slightly.
She supposed that he had every reason to intervene. She should have been behaving herself after all. "This, Sekhmet, is my King Apocalypse. And you will probably be working with him on a few tons of paperwork when you get started."
That seemed like a fine way to announce that the woman would be regaining her title, she supposed. Xiven carefully let her ax touch the ground, before moving to a more proper position. Damn, her knees hurt. At this rate she wouldn't be able to stand by the time she was fifty. She brushed that thought aside as she decided to address the issue in front of her.
"You, Sir, didn't have to announce my private business to the world," she said, half tempted to flick him in the ear.

Her eyes were anticipating Xiven's next move, with an excitement filling her body in response to the sound the Queen had made, obviously both getting very immersed in the battle and the atmosphere. This would have been fine and dandy if the glimmer of a blade didn't make her freeze the second her feet felt impact.
She began to say "You said no-" but before the last word came out, she had begun to turn away from the phantom blade. "...magic?" She finished with surprise, noting that this was not an act of magic, but merely a potentially suicidal move by... Her eyes flicked downwards to catch the marking on his chest, not entirely hearing his words immediately. Xiven's King, the name she hadn't recognized.
"She's?..." Her eyes widened in surprise, turning back to the woman just as she made her announcement. "Working with...?" She breathed in and out slowly, stepping back and putting her hands out to either side. "A moment, please." A few seconds went past before she breathed out and smiled, her muscles still flinching a little now and then as her body, and her mind, tried to catch up and then swiftly relax.
"First and foremost- are you crazy, Majesty?! Congratulations, but now I feel terrible by putting you, or them, in any danger." She frowned slightly before smiling widely. "And, thank you Xiven... It will be my honour to get started immediately." Really, she was... unusually eager to get back to using that boring repertoire. She then turned to the other King and extended her hand.
"My apologies for causing you worry. It's a pleasure to meet you Apocalypse, I am Sekhmet." She thought about reassuring him by adding that she had been Majesty Shinrai's previous second King, but obviously if Xiven had accepted her, that should be comfort enough to let the man know she was no threat.

All things considered, it was probably lucky that Sekhmet did not try and touch the so-called magical blade. Rhiannon was very solid and very real, and it likely would have been very painful. And a shame, Apocalypse reflected, his eyes flickering curiously as he looked the lean woman over. She had moved well, even if she hadn't exactly been paying attention to her surroundings. Not a great trait, to be sure, but one that even Xiven was guilty of, if the look on her face at his appearance was anything for him to go by.
Working with, hmm? "I hope you're as skilled with a pen as you seem to be with that sword." He replied easily, tone betraying none of his surprise. Did Xiven's statement mean what he thought it did? Judging from the redhead's reaction to the words, it certainly seemed as if they did. Hmm. Curious. If she needed a moment, however, he'd give it to her.
A slow smile curled across his lips as he turned his attention from fiery Morganberry to the woman who was his Queen, hefting his massive weapon effortlessly and pulling it away. It seemed as if the newcomer needed a moment, anyway, so it wouldn't hurt to focus his attention for the time being.
"I certainly didn't," he replied happily, leaning in and giving the Queen's sweaty forehead a soft kiss, his cheeks alighting with a warm blush, obvious beneath his pale skin. "I just wanted to. Maybe I like letting the world know that sometimes I get to sleep with you, hmmm?" He blinked when the other woman stepped back into the conversation, his smile only broadening. This was fun. He wasn't fully sure why, but it was. Another King would certainly be useful, especially with the amount of work that the few nobles that remained in the Court had to take care of on a daily basis.
He extended a hand, grasping the woman's in a firm shake, slit-pupiled eyes leveled thoughtfully on her. "The pleasure is all mine," he replied easily, giving her a small nod of his head. "What brings you to our humble court, other than a desire to spar and earn yourself a title?" Amusement crept into his voice.

Xiven was rather unamused by the woman's crazy comment. Really? It wasn't like she was going to let the other woman actually hurt her. If that were the case she would have simply used magic to avoid injury, and she had enough confidence in her skill.
And exercise never hurt anyone. "The doctor said if I was careful I could spar with someone I trusted. And if worse came to worst I would have used magic to stop the battle." She smiled.
She watched as Pale kissed her on the forehead. She ignore the feeling of her own blush. Really, she wasn't normally embarrassed about public displays of affection. "I think we're loud enough that the entire world knows when we're together," she commented with a small smirk.
She took the opportunity of the conversation the two Kings were now engaging in to straighten herself up. The exercise may have been cut short, but it was still a workout. She could take a nice long shower, and maybe have some time to herself? And maybe she could get Pale to show around Sekhmet?

She had no doubts the woman wouldn't have let harm come to her children, but she knew how stubborn royals could be when it came to pushing themselves. Exhaustion wasn't uncommon, and she just did not want any angry baby daddy coming after her.
"Mm, I'm glad you trusted me then Majesty." Small smile was given as she allowed the two their time to share affection and conversation, recollecting herself from all the sudden surprises. The woman couldn't help but smirk at the banter, though it did remind her of someone. Ah, damn it. She forced the shadow from her expression, perking in obvious surprise when Pale addressed her again. No more of that zoning out.
The man was very polite and she smiled warmly in response, good to know she'd be working with such amicable company. A small laugh started her response as her lips curved upwards into a smirk. "I'm not as young as I apparently seem. I've been a part of the courts since long before her Majesty Xiven was even born. Being as... close to his Majesty, the late Shinrai, as I was... well, I needed a bit of a break to cope. But, the combination of his loyalties to the court and mine brought me back. It's simply not something I can abandon. Maybe Bernard rubbed off on me too much as well." She chuckled again and looked at the feline with a long, warm consideration. God it was good to see a familiar face.
But, she couldn't hide behind that as a way to ignore that things were just... different now. No matter how many things brought back nostalgic, comforting memories and made it seem like some things would never change, some things obviously had. She sighed softly and smiled, the look only a little defeated. It was an improvement.
