Wulfram watched Inca with a stern and scrutinizing eye, but Inca did her job well. For the time being, he was pleased with the woman.
When everything was set and he wouldn't wind up getting in her way, Wulfram made his way to the table and slipped into the seat comfortable. It was a small amount of space, but it suited him and a guest well enough. Wulfram didn't want much more than that anyway. He didn't exactly have guests all that often.
The food was good, though a bit 'heavier' than he would prefer... It was suitable enough for most afternoons, at least, and especially so if he had been drinking the previous night. The tea suited well, even, and the scotch quickly balanced the heartiness of the soup.
When lunch was finished, Wulfram smirked at Inca and inclined his head ever so slightly. "You heff done e goot chob today. I vill be pleased to heff you helpink in my Suite." He ran a hand through his hair slightly, regarding the room around them. "I vould like you to come efery ozer day, around ze same time you arrived zhis afternoon. If I am out or busy, I vill leave e note on ze door for you und you vill get your pay as usual."

Her nervousness meant her appetite was lacking, which was why her serving had been fairly smaller than the man's. The small space was kind of cozy, and it held a certain level of welcoming intimacy that most dining areas couldn't capture because it was so small. It made the rest of the room seem a bit imposingly large, however, which was probably the intended effect. Wulfram seemed like the person to care more for his work space than his social space anyway.
He seemed to be enjoying everything, it wouldn't have made sense for him to eat or drink anything he didn't like as she would quickly go and remedy it on a word of disapproval. She hadn't had the recipe in a long time, it was passed down to her from her mother. The thought didn't make her homesick surprisingly, and she thought it would. The realization made her frown slightly, but she pushed it aside, her family was still important but... this was important now, too.
The smirk could have meant anything, but she smiled back in response and clasped her hands politely, waiting for him to speak as it seemed he would when they were finished. "Thank you very much your excellence, I am happy to please." She dipped her head forward respectfully, leaning back and watching the man relax as he eyed the room.
"As you wish, I'll be here." Her voice held a note of shock at the talk of pay, she had thought having a room and an informal position in the courts Was her pay or reward for her duty. She was struggling up through the ranks and moving quickly, but still they were doing her a great favour by allowing her to step foot in the door at such a low rank. Her aspirations motivated her so much that she hadn't needed the money and to be honest she almost felt guilty taking it.
"I'll return the dishes to the kitchen then, is there anything else I can do for you?" Better to double check in case he wanted her to bring something else back or tend to something else as it was still fairly early in the day. She didn't know what to do with herself except maybe to do some reading and training. Spare time was a foreign concept to the girl.

Wulfram arched a brow slightly in response to Inca's little bow and her 'happiness to please'. It left his thoughts roving with a sort of darkness beneath it, pondering using that to his advantage.
Perhaps if he was bored...?
Well, for the time being, Wulfram had nothing to demand.
His room was clean, a bit cleaner than usual even, and he was satisfied with lunch. Inca had done a good job and, for now, Wulfram was done with her services.
"Taking ze dishes vill be it for today. Heff e nice evenink, Inca. I vill see you the afternoon efter tomorrow." He waved a hand to signify that she could begin cleaning and lifted up to his feet. The crow watched her from where he stood, expression unreadable, as he debated what to do next. His room really wasn't messy very often, but he supposed he could use a bit less care than usual just to give her a reason to work.
Or just send her off running errands. Whatever the case, he'd find a good use for her.
(We can either close it up here after another post from you, or we can time forward to her coming back?)

His eyes were extremely unreadable, and the arch of a brow meant either she'd said something interesting or entertaining, or perhaps... it meant nothing at all. It was hard to get her bearings on what he liked and disliked from his servants and people in general, but so far being herself (although a bit more of a nervous version of herself from time to time) hadn't done her too poorly. The girl really was too eager to please.
She was slightly surprised that he didn't expect more of her for the evening, she'd heard that servants of her nature often worked into the early hours of the morning on seemingly tedious, pointless tasks. But Wulfram's room was fairly spotless, and he didn't seem to have any other locations or pet projects that she would be involved in, so it made sense that her use would be limited with the man.
"Very well, thank you again for the opportunity, your excellence. It has been my honour to assist, see you again at that time. Enjoy your evening as well, sir." She stood quickly after he did, a force of habit from her etiquette training, the most important person was always the first to sit and the first to rise, and everyone else acted accordingly. She began to clean up, though casting a glance occasionally back to the man to see if he changed his mind and needed anything further.
When she had re-filled the silver tray with the empty dishes, she moved gracefully towards the door (this bipedal walking with a tray thing was getting easier and easier) and smiled as she opened the door and stood silhouetted in it for a moment. "Good evening, your excellence." And with that she departed, heading for the kitchen with a slight spring in her step. Her first day was over, and it seemed to have been successful!
((I think a time jump is in order as both of their ranks have changed a bit heh, feel free to start off from a few days later ^_^))

Hmmm, changes changes...
Inca would find, most likely to her surprise, that Wulfram had take a rather lengthy leave of absence. In fact, she would find that he did this frequently and often without warning. He had work to do that took him out of the Court frequently and then Lenore's skittishness in the Courts... It was enough to drive a man crazy, and then that stupid night...
Ah well, everything had summed up well. A little down time, a little rough spot... and now he was A Queen. Wulfram really couldn't complain.
After being absent for nearly a week, Inca would he left with a note expressing Wulfram's room change to one of the Queen Suites. Much more room to roam, but very little of it needed to be clean. To give her something to do, he forced himself to ignore things at random. Abandon a few plates to be picked up, leave the bed undone... and he'd just let her dust or something.
Whatever, it gave the little servant girl something to do while she worked on making something of herself.

The girl was considerably worried when the man went missing for spells of a time. She didn't dare to enter his room without invitation, so she had no way of investigating to make sure he was alright. Besides, he could handle himself, and she wasn't his bodyguard so it was none of her business. When she found a note explaining his move, one passing by would have been her eyes widen as she exhaled sharply. She'd been working hard to push herself, and it seemed she wasn't the only one.
From a 7 to a 10 in less than a month, and now she was pushing for Jack. Would he be pleased or upset by her intent? Well if things went according to her ambitions, perhaps she could soon be of use to him in a different way. That is- by being a King under him, or perhaps she'd settle at Jack, she didn't know yet. Queen was not in her interests at all, but she thought he'd do a fine job, there was something... comannding about his presence, anyway. She'd always wondered why he was but a Jack, not that it was a rank to scoff at, she herself could attest to the difficulty of obtaining it!
She followed the directions she was given by the servant in the kitchen whom she'd come to know quite well, and breathed in and out a few times before knocking on the finely detailed door. Dear lord, what had she gotten herself into? Just when her easyness over being new to the courts had started to ease, here she was, feeling out of place all over again.
"Your majesty? It's Inca, may I enter?" She almost hesitated on the new title but managed not to skip a beat. Her heart was going a mile a minute, but she looked down to her chest and the 10 that sat there, knowing soon that would change. She had to stop being so meek. She set her face in a determined manner and arched her back into the proper posture she'd been working on. Right, this was it then. First time ever being inside a Queen's personal room. Nothing to worry about, no sweat.

Wulfram had been working on a... project... for Donalda. How fun. The crow scoffed to himself. It was less a project and more a small art of torture, but he had expected that from a vindictive Yarrow bitch. At least she was a respectable leader.
Luckily for Inca, though, it meant he'd spent a great deal of time neglecting just about everything. At least he tended to leave things in a somewhat tidy mess, laundry was only just beginning to overflow the hamper and forgotten plates or cups were mostly stuffed together on the small table in the room. Wulfram's desk, a mess of papers and files that he was constantly referring to, was the worst of it but it was, sadly, also only his concern.
At the knock at the door, Wulfram set down his quill with a sigh that was more relief than frustration and quickly unsummoned Kirill so the little bugger couldn't try to gnaw on his guest. "Come in, Inca." He'd heard that the girl had upped her rank a bit since he'd last seen her, but considering that he'd done the same he couldn't manage to be too surprised. After all, he was a Queen now. Quite the jump from Jack, after all.

Inca didn't hesitate, but almost barged in at the sheer sound of his voice. Gods she was jumpy today. She breathed in once, waited until his voice faded, opened the door, walked in, and breathed out. Her posture was still firmly upright, her smile open and eager to get back to work, her eyes... just a touch wide. He really was a Queen. Holy crap.
"Wulfram, majesty, it's nice to see you again. Congratulations, by the way." She was biting her tongue from going on a spree of 'not that it's any surprise, I'm sure it wasn't difficult for you, etc, etc'. When she finally drew her eyes from the man for a moment, she felt surprisingly more at ease. The mess was distracting, the mess set her mind into a mechanical mode of just cleaning and not over-thinking how things could go horribly wrong on her first real day back on the job.
Things weren't any different really. Were they? Had she gotten the wrong idea, and things were actually completely different now? They didn't Seem that different. She was going to give herself a headache. She began to move towards the dishes, placing down a large tray to sit them all upon. Her one-handed balancing wouldn't be shown off today because it was too heavy for one hand, but she'd surely get to show off her skill-honing eventually. Not that cheap waitress tricks would wow him, but these trays were unbalanced and she was proud of herself.
It looked like she'd need to make two trips, before moving onto the laundry. "I see you're very busy, I'll try to be invisible as possible." She smiled and stealthily headed for the door with her first load of dishes, using her feet whenever possible to maneuver things and open the door. If she was any more nervous, she'd likely stub her toe and drop the entire damn tray. But so far luck was on her side!

Wulfram's hands were folded on the desk when Inca came inside and his expression was a mixture of amusement and his usual dark intensity. In other words, nothing had changed. Nevertheless, he appreciated the new display of nerves in the girl (as if she'd never seen A Queen before, hmph).
Her congratulations brought a proper smile to his face and he inclined his head. "Thank you. It ist e pleasure to see you again, Inca. Congratulations on your new rank as vell." He motioned curtly to the mess, making a disapproving face. "You heff quite the mess cut out for you, I apologize. Chust stay clear auf ze desk, I'm still goink through zeese papers." To his very blatant disdain.
Inca's promise of 'invisibility' was greatly appreciated by the crow and, with a nod, he returned to his paperwork. Perhaps, if everything worked out, the room would actually be clean well Malachior arrived... The old man would like that.
