Elias walked down the street, preoccupied. At least the majority of the crowd didn't notice his shiny new glossy skin while he was using blending into the crowd.
When he walked near the rat in the blue clothes, he didn't pay very much attention, just accepted the envelope and stuffed it into a pocket. He was back at his rooms before he noticed the envelope again, and pulled it out of his pocket. One of the envelopes the Courts had signed off on. He laughed, and tore open the paper. Where were his taxes going these days?

Mirriam was doing some holiday 'shopping' for her guardian, all bundled up in a scarf and wooly hat. She was wearing a bright smile and not seeming to notice how sharp an eye her attendant, an eagle from the palace, was keeping on her. Something very bright caught her eye...her brown eyes widened happily and she eagerly tugged on the eagle's hand. "Come on come on, let's see!" she insisted, and with a small sight, the eagle let himself be led over to where the disgruntled cop was. He gave Rodney a sympathetic look, while Mirriam eagerly took the envelope that was presented.
"Thank you Mr. Rat! I really like your scarf. I have one too, see?" She presented a side of her own yellow scarf with a wing claw. "Mine was knitted by my friend Miss Hilda who works n the Palace. Who made yours?" Mouthing an apology to Rodney, the eagle herded the little bat away. "Aww, but I was talking to to the nice Mr. Rat! Happy Holidays Mr. Rat!" She waved a wing happily, the envelope clutched in the other wingclaw.

Are you fond of Candy canes?: Yessiree  Kaleb walked down the bustling street, seeming to intimidate all those he came across with his huge claws and antlers. "Maybe I should just go back home..." he thought to himself as he began to feel highly uncomfortable. Then he noticed the bipedal rat handing out envelopes and ringing a bell. Couldn't possibly hurt to grab one too, right? He quickly approached the rat and took the envelope that was handed to him into one of his giant front paws. "Thank you, sir, and Happy Holidays!" He then rushed off before he could be stared at any longer, all the while wondering what could be inside the envelope. |

Are you fond of Candy canes?: I enjoy the flavor immensely, but I don't enjoy how sticky they get. I almost always find a way to accidentally drool where the plastic is still on the cane and make an absolute mess of it.
Mikael's coat certainly wasn't the thickness of a pure blooded Solandrian, but it was enough to take some of the bite out of the chill wind as he made his way down the road. His body was still bruised from the fight he'd been in, but there was no way he could stay cooped up inside any longer. It was driving him stir-crazy.
The young quadruped gave a flinch when an envelope was pushed unceremoniously into his face. "Oh.. thank you." How very kind! He put the envelope in his satchel and moved on. What a great start to the holidays!
