Just as the feline's hair raised, Charlie's on feathers protruded hilariously in every direction. Eegads, why was the thing scared of -him-? He wasn't a super big scary monster thing with a SKULL attached to his butt! He settled slightly when Xolani ran her paw over his head, but fluffed out again in confusion when the skull -talked-. He stared, wide-eyed, and seemed genuinely confused that the thing sounded -polite-. Emitting a confused series of clucks, he ran underneath a chair, peering out from under it at them with a bewildered expression.
Xolani giggled at the antics of the bird, obviously not considering his mannerisms too terribly out of the ordinary. Charlie was always quite fickle with new people.
"Don't worry about it. You did me a huge favor too!" The Hisstor said brightly, looking over her shoulder to give the brothers a bright smile. "Wanna see my dollies? My mom sews them for me."

Both the boys stared (though clearly Benedict's stare was speculated since he had no eye or facial expressions to speak of) as the chicken puffed up with feathers at odd angles. He must not have liked people very much. Then again Benedict was a talking skull.
Oh well, no point in dwelling on that.
Falks continued to eye the chicken as Benedict spoke to Xolani's question. "Sure! I didn't know your mother knew how to sew... but then again I suppose I don't know much about your mother in the first place."
Falks tore his eyes away from the oddly frightened Ace, "I'd like to see them too! But uh... is he really all right? He doesn't seem to like us very much." Falks had never been one to play with dolls. And not many of the children he associated with... which were very few... seemed to play with dolls either. So this was a completely new experience to keep his mind off of the frightened chicken and dark.
