Sand crunched under lime-green hooves as Helen wandered along the beaches of Midori. The travel brochures and rumor had always painted it as a gorgeous, sunlit stretch of sand, and it was true that it was rather sunny right now, and there was plenty of sand... But there was also a good deal of debreis and mess from the hurricane that had apparently swept through here recently. The beach was covered with torn up branches and trees, seaweed and other things from the deep ocean to straggle all along the sand. It didn't look anything like the pictures that she'd seen of the place. All told, Helen paid little to no attention to the mess, drifting along the beach with an absent-minded, dreamy expression on her face. She'd heard about someone who lived here who intrigued her, that she wanted to meet, to speak with. If anyone could offer any sort of insights, wouldn't it be the woman she'd heard spoken of?

With her hut in shambles, Zuberi was living in a small lean-to with little more than three walls and a roof. It was cozy though, and with a little hearth just a few paces from where she lived and the sea to bathe in, she found herself feeling more at home than she ever had in that ragged , hand-me-down hut. Her unnamed ace suddenly sat upright, clucking an alert as he saw someone walking nearby. Curious, Zuberi looked around. The chicken had gotten quite used to the others who lived in the village; he generally only got this riled up when it was someone he hadn't seen before. And it certainly wasn't. It looked to be.. Torquehelm at the very least, though the green screamed of the vivid color that often blotched a Corvie. And that gold.. she'd heard of what gold meant on a Torque. How fascinating. Smiling, Zuberi waved to the newcomer. "Hey d'ere. You not lost, are ye?"

A voice caught her attention, and she lifted her head toward the trace of dark and pink that she'd absently noticed out of the corner of her eyes, blinking at the brightly-colored chicken-thing that she realized was an Ace after wondering for a while why there was a chicken on the beach. She didn't think it was their natural habitat or anything, or else there would be more stories about chickens on beaches rather than in farmyards.
"Only as lost as any traveller in the world, wandering and searching for that with which one can define themself," she said airily, golden tail twitching, the green on the end flicking lightly side to side. "Considering such a definition, would you be lost as well, or have you found that driving force of your own?"
The sight of wings on her body made her attention sharpen, glassy purple eyes focusing intently on the woman as she altered her path to come up to her where she relaxed. If she was right, then this was the Card that she was looking for. If nothing else, the skull-hat was rather unmistakable.

Oh, a philosopher? That was the thing about Corvies, she supposed; always thinking. She found their schemes exhausting sometimes, but this little mix was.. interesting to say the least. Honestly, anyone who defined themselves as 'traveller' and made thought provoking comments was able to pique her interest, at least for a while.
"Oh, I haven't been lost for a very long time, thankfully. I'm just riding out the tides." How interesting it was, that such a person came through the area at this time. Soon, she would make her way back to the cave where Pinkbeard's gold had been. She'd returned there year after year, but with her rank changed, and human form attained, Zuberi felt the time was now right to return and search for her love.
Considering the stranger's lack of hands, she did not offer her own, but she would introduce herself. "Well friend, if you be needin' any help finding your way while you are in Midori, just let me know. My name is Zuberi."

"The tides of life, or the tides of the ocean?"[/b] Glancing around slowly, she looked at the mess across the beach. "If the ocean, it seems as if there has been much thrown up recently. Chaos and mess, neither harmful nor helpful until seperated and put to some sort of use."
Walking the rest of the way to comfortable talking distance, she folded her legs beneath her to relax on the sand. It was both more comfortable, and less comfortable than she'd anticipated. At first it seemed like it was hard and unforgiving, but as she wiggled a bit, it slid aside and let her create a comfortable little hollow to rest in. Rather nice, this.
"I think I've been looking for you, so you've helped me considerably already," she said, pleased. "I'm called Helen, or sometimes Cassandra." It was a name she'd been using more and more recently, representing her goal and dream, the thing that she was working toward in all of her studies and research.

Zuberi gave a small smile, assuming that comment had been rhetorical. Had it not been... well, she'd just let the girl ponder on that one. Taking Helen's example, Zuberi too sat down, sticking her bare feet into the warm sand. It wasn't often that she met one so relaxed. For someone who seemed so intent to find themselves, they certainly had the laid back attitude that seemed more fitting to the average Midori. Then again, perhaps it was the gorgeous weather that was bringing such a calm to the visitor. Zuberi didn't know, and she didn't feel too inclined to overthink it.
"Looking for me, eh?" She did not seem at all surprised. After all, she was sought out quite often for her advice and expertise in the way of the juju. "Well, you have certainly found me. I'd offer you a place to stay.. well, in fact, I do offer it to you, but it's nothing more than three walls and a roof, which is fine if you don't mind sleeping on a mat on the ground. The nights are never too cold here."
