Sabe flew lazily through the air as he searched for the hut that he had only visited once before. He had a really good memory for faces, names, and places, but this seemed years ago. He knew that it should have been around here somewhere, around a nice spring of trees that hides the house from view of the air, though maybe not the sea. He knew why he was coming to seek her aid once more. He was here on a mission that didn't involve delivering any sort of mail or packages. He was here to hope to gain an ally here in his future to be Queen in the court of Clubs. Hopefully he would be able to solve two things here, to get someone to help him secure his power source and to finish his queen quest. He wanted to be a queen to change all the things in the courts that he didn't quite agree with. He really didn't like how some of it was ran, so in his lifetime he had plans to make the world just a bit better than what it was. He spotted the house then, jerking out of his thoughts as he slowly pumped the two sets of wings that allowed him to glide almost effortlessly. He could actually end up flying twice the length than he was normal to. He gave a smile and slowly made his decent to the ground as he started to run the thoughts through his head about what he was going to say and do. He landed lightly on the sandy beach, his claws digging into the sand making him stumble right into the door with his long beak. He tried to throw out his hands to stop himself, but... that didn't help at all... it just sounded like a really loud knock and two soft ones followed behind. He stood up rubbing the sore beak.

Though the house was very much in the same place it had been for years, it had changed. Normally, the door was so rickety, that the force of him running into it would have torn it off its hinges. In fact though, that house was long gone. A new one was built in its place, just as cozy, but with an extra story built on top of it, and slightly bigger. The stuff used to make it seemed to be stronger, less like hay and mud but more like a stucco or concrete, but with enough of the charm of Midori craftmanship so that it didn't look out of place. In fact, almost every building in the village seemed more well built, more new. Only a few months earlier, a hurricane had ravaged the small village; it had taken everyone's effort and outside help to rebuild it, but the village had a quaint grandeur to it that its former glory had failed to exhume. There was even a small town square, filled with palm trees and tropical flowers all surrounding a walkway that circled a fountain. Yes, the Midori had changed over the years. And it wasn't just the scenery that had transformed. A woman answered the door, one that few would have known to be the Midori squirrel, but those thick pink dreadlocks were hard to miss, that and the soft, kind smile she seemed to always have on her lips... for it was a human that answered the door, dark skinned and vibrant as she pulled the door open without any thought as to how rude so loud a knock had been. And she paused, her smile disappearing only for a moment as she tried to recall his face. Oh yes, she knew this heron. But he had changed... "Sabe!" Look at you! You've changed quite a bit, friend!" Smiling broadly, she poked a clawed finger gently to the rank on his chest. "Your rank.. and biped too! Ya must be doin' well for yaself. How's the business?"

Sabe had taken a second to look at the house before she answered. He peered at it and wondered how it had changed and why. It made no wonder that he couldn't find it as quickly as he could, he must have passed it a few times looking for a shack instead of a house. Even the whole village had thrown him off, thinking all the while that this one couldn't be the place.
He was a bit startled when she had answered the door. He thought at first that he had had the wrong person here. His smile faded a bit too, he then noticed that pink dreadlocks that could not belong to another. His smile grew as she poked him and praised him.
"And to you too Zub, look at you!" he said giving a mocking poke at hers as well. "Though I do have to say that you have a good one up on me, being human and all." he said as he kind of looked down and folding his two sets of wings inward to attempt to hide his embarrassment a bit. "Though that business that you mention is no more. Kinda fell through when a over ambitious face card in the courts bought it out from underneath me." he said looking a bit distraught.
He looked all of his height, which was at least a foot or more above the Midori squirrelly human. He smiled though and folded his two sets of wings to fold over one another behind him as he smoothed down the ruffled feathers.

Zuberi gave a soft peep at the lighthearted poke, swatting his hand away good-naturedly with a webbed hand. "Hey now! Remember, human form." She laughed, putting her hand over her mark, which was just above her breasts, which had become quite a bit more ample after having drank those potions. Funny, how things were more sensitive, and felt very much more like 'private' parts in human form when in her earlier life, a chest in animal form wasn't a sensitive place at all. Ah well, things change.
Zuberi made a noise in her throat, waving off his self consciousness. "Eh, regardless, biped is still quite the achievement. Don't be comparing yourself to others or you'll never be happy. So sorry about your business though. A tough market, it is."
Stepping back, she beckoned him in. "But please, come on in!"

He would then smile as she did that. IT was only for fun that he had even made that gesture with his clawed hand. He had forgotten that when most people became humans that they tended to wear more clothing and cover themselves up more often. He would though give a curt bow before speaking again.
"My deepest appoligies Zuberi, if you would forgive my playful nature."
he would say that with laughing eyes still gazed at her... even though he bent from the midsection, his face was still in the same general area. He would though shrug afterwords, once standing to his full height. It really didn't matter if he gotten his human... though biped still allowed him to fly around making his job a bit more easier. Being a human would just slow his production speed dramatically.
He would nod at her last comment ducking under the door frame of her house. He would enter and wait to be directed. "So how goes the business with yourself? I remember delivering those packages and letters long ago... you had some rather particular herbs hanging if I recall." he said with a large grin on his face. That knowing smile that people used often.

Zuberi unleashed a most wicked grin. She kept what she had on her mind to herself, but in reality if he had offended her, he'd probably be bald right now, or some other type of unpleasant curse would have happened to him. No need for hostilities though; she knew he'd meant nothing by it.
She gestured for him to take a seat, moving to the hearth to get a pot of tea going, as she usually did. It was hardly appropriate to leave a friend with a dry mouth after such a long travel. Not that she minded; Zuberi found that it was soothing to prepare food and drink for her friends.
"Oh, those herbs were pleasure, not business. As prevalant as the stereotype, the Midori not be drug traffickers. Business though, is fine. I'm certainly not want for anything. So, what brings you to the Midori? "

Sabe would move to the seat offered and sit on his rear end making sure that the feathers were not crimped. He would cross one leg over the other engulfing the sets of wings around the back of the chair. When he was done sitting, witch took him a few moments, did it not look like their was even a chair their. There was just soo many feathers and so little chair to show.
he would just smile at her wicked grin... he didn't know how to respond to it really... I mean... Sabe had only meet Zuberi once before... but word of her has moved around the cities about how powerful that she could be or is. So that was one of the reasons that he was here. To see if she would join him in his power to become a queen in the court of clubs...
He would smile as she moved to the hearth making some tea. IT was about the same thing that she had done for him the last time. Though she had also served some food. She was a nice person, but he wondered what she could do in a fight... could she defend herself? He gave an inward frown as he thought about her question.
"Well yes, pleasure of course." he said looking around to see if he saw any... "Well I have come to seek your help actually." he said as he laid his hands on his knee lacing his fingers in each other... he would wait and watch for something...

Food wasn't far behind. She pulled out a large bowl from her ice box, dumping the cooled stew into the cooking pot to reheat. "I absolutely adore dis ice box. One of my friend's children bought it for me. Isn't it lovely?"
With the tea steeped, she brought over cups and served them both, offering cream and sugar as well. The tea set was specifically for biped and human use. "I hardly get to use dis set. Not often people around here get outta dere animal form." She obviously seemed pleased with herself that she could finally use it.
She paused at the question, the usually enigmatic human face obviously curious. "Oh, is dis so?" She sat back down, looking up at him curiously over her teacup. "And what do you need?"

He would smile at her as she sat down, ignoring the question at hand currently to express his feelings about the ice box. "Why yes those are nice. I used to have a small one that I used infrequently, being on the road in all has kept me far from the luxuries that many enjoy." he said giveing a small hand movement in her direction.
He would pick up one of the glasses in his left hand while he took two spoons of sugar into the cup stirring it slowly so that he didn't bang the metal around the glass making that awful noise. He would take a cautious sip first and then set it back down on the saucer that it came with. He cleared his throat as he started in on what he wanted to talk about.
"Well, I have a new job that I'm trying to get hired at. Though it requires your help in some form. I have decided that I wish to make a difference in the world, and thus I have joined the Court of Clubs. So I ask of you a favor, only if you would hear me out completely." he finished picking up the tea cup once more sipping on it slowly so it didn't run down his beak and onto his feathers.

Zuberi's pleasant face suddenly contorted into something that seemed... a bit like rage. In an instant, she was out of hear seat and taking a step back from him. "The Courts. The COURTS! I should have known... you trying to work for that Morganberry. Do you really think the only way to make a difference in dis world be in the Courts?? They be nothing but an uptight, rigid bureaucracy! Too buried in dey paperwork to give a damn about anyone but themselves. They lord their power over the weak... Tyrannical bastards!"
Her finger came up, pointing in a most accusatory fashion at the bird. "I would have thought better of you, Sabe. I thought you understood. Do you think the Courts understood the strife they put on others when they tax businesses? Families? Do you think they care when your business gets foreclosed. No. It's numbers on a paper. That's all any of us are to dem!"
