Sitting back he observed and listened carefully to everything she had to say. For one so young she seemed like she had come quite prepared for the position.
Giving a small smile he leaned forward quickly to refill his cup of coffee. "I think, my dear, that you have just earned the position of a titled King in the Court of Clubs." The skills that she had mentioned as having under her belt seemed like they would be valuable assets. Not to mention her comment about always being willing to learn new things had gone over well with the mouse. He was always in support of people who were trying to improve themselves and their surroundings.
"Now as for the further questions that I might have, how about we leave those for later. Consider it a chance to surprise me." It would make things a little more interesting that way. At least as long as they were all pleasant surprises.

Thyme sat up straighter, unable to contain the eagerness in the gesture and the flash of delight that passed across her face. The Court would probably be keeping an eye on her at first to make sure she didn’t screw things up early on, but that was fine. She was in. Now all that remained was to inform her aunt, a task easier said than done. The woman probably ‘knew’ that she hadn’t gotten the position and was all set to welcome her huffily back into the house.
”A surprise, yes. I’m sure that I can surprise you a time or two, Majesty, if that’s what you’re after.” Her smirk fit with the twitching of her tail as it tried to wag and was suppressed. Acting like a pup in front of her new Queen was all that she needed.
”If you will please excuse me, then, I will gather my things and begin to settle myself in. Waffles, come.” She reached down and snapped her fingers twice, hoping that the kitten would approach. It would be easier to just pick him up and carry him out. Before she left, she gave Aderlass one last bow and departed.
