HAHA. I force you to RP with me!
With a new outlook on life, Haret reached up toward the higher limbs in the tree that she now climbed with ease and lack of any effort put forth. One more limb beneath her, another, and another. She was climbing higher and higher, causing the ground to become farther away by the moment. Arms stretched up, she grasped one more branch and hoisted herself up onto it. She was certainly a good 20 feet from the earth level, enjoying her view for the very first time since she was born. Never before had she been this high. Looking down and all around her, she admired the beauty of the Torquehelm region. It was a dim place but she really loved her home. No matter where she would wander, Torquehelm would always be where she belonged at the end of the day. Depressing and downtrodden or not. She leaned back against the trunk of the tree and yawned, tag wagging behind her slowly. Comfortable in her tree she stretched out and gave the landscape another look. It was then that she noticed from the corner of her eye that the bushes were moving below her. Squinting to get a better look, she still could not see what was going on down there. Figuring she had better climb down a little to see what the hell was happening, she slipped down a few branches and made herself comfortable there for a few. Whatever it was, would need to come out sooner or later. Or so she thought.

Walking through the low underbrush, Lucio shook his head yet again. The stories about these woods were more than accurate. Soon after entering the land, he began to feel downtrodden..sad..depressed. There really was no reason for it, but it just was. Huffing a bit to himself, and shakeing his head yet agian, he tried to will the hair on his back to lie down, and his muscles to relax. Jeez, what was it about this place anyway? Funny, he though to himself. It really should be lovely, this land by the woods. Craneing his neck to try and catch a glimpse of the sky, and failing he started to resume his walk before suddenly pausing and looking back again. He blinked at the ground a few times, then turned his head and looked back up into the trees. No, his mind was not playing tricks on him. There, in a tree, was a very beautifull resident of Torquehelm...but what surprsied him was the fact it was a Canine watching him from the boughs of the tree. Sitting back on his haunches, he quickly licked his nose and eyed this curious watcher. Her markings confirmed she was from this place, as well as her bindings..though she had one of the strangest he had ever heard of. Her beautifull hair grew down to wrap itself around her wrists. Blinking again, he tilted his head back a bit more to look up into her face. " Hail Mi'Lady, and well met. How are you this eve? And what do you spy from your lovely perch?"

I spy with my little eye… The old children’s rhyme came to mind, though Haret had never played such a game herself. Again a fluttering of joy heaved through her chest; a smattering of butterfly wings alighting from her body as those pain-filled, lonely years were behind her now. She had carefully watched the others play back then, just in case she was one day invited to play. She never was back then and a sense of her remembered sorrow briefly distracted her from this day.
A tiny shake of her head to banish the old pain, nothing too extravagant because that would pull her bindings… at least in her other form it would have. Not anymore. And that returned the smile to her face, a beatific, gentle smile filled with simple joy.
”I see a beautiful, if misunderstood, land,” Haret replied. ”I see new hope and new chances. Wot do you see?”

Grinning as best he could, Lucio gazed up at the beautiful Canine. "I see a beautifull land as well. And you are right. I do not understand it. It has been confuseing me since I entered. For all my eyes tell me it is beautifull, my body tells me it is...wrong. It makes me feel sad and downtrodden, though there is no reason for me to be feel so. Espically now that I have stumbled upon such lovely company" he said with a slight grin.
Padding softly over to the base, Lucio sat once again and looked up. She really was very lovely. And her hair..it was absolutely amazing. Though he was sure the way it bound her must make it seem not quite so great to her.
"So, tell me, lovely Canine, do you often spend your days in the tree-tops? I would gladly offer to join you in your sky-high perch, but I dont think I'm quite acrobatic enough for such antics".

(( Sorry this took so long, Shade... ^^;;; i've restarted this post, like, three times... ><;; ))
The bound canine didn't seem to notice that the ferret's eyes strayed far more often to her black form than the scenery. She gazed out from beneath the constricting locks, purple gaze again drinking in her homeland. She could understand why visitors were few; after all, she had been one of the terribly depressed and downtrodden. One black hand slipped across the rough bark of the branch upon which she perched. There was hope, even here. A pleased sigh expanded her chest, easing out with a content, wistful note.
”Our dreams are better hidden than those of the other regions,” she admitted softly. ”But it is still there.”
She glanced down again to find him staring up at her. Her head tilted to one side, an action that brought no pain, as it once did. This brought a smile curling her lips; an unconscious reaction that happened often now.
He couldn’t get up into the tree? It seemed odd that a winged being such as himself would have such difficulty and she could not help but bring up that fact. ”Your wings…?” A low, tentative question, the canine had no desire to be rude.

((no worries. I know the feeling ^_^))
"Ah, yes" Lucio said, as he slowly unfurled his wings and allowed them to stretch out beside himself. "They allow me to glide for a short distance, but are not capable of flight. And, aside from that..I'm not so sure my four paws would allow me the confidence your hands lend to you" he coninued with a slight grin. "So, I think I'll stay nice and balanced down here. I much prefer a crick in my neck to it being broken from a clumsey slip. Though I really dont care for either. So, if you will excuse me in a bit of sillyness.."
Saying that, Lucio promptly rolls over onto his back and squirms around a bit untill the Canine is in his view, then curves his neck to a more comfortable angle.
"So, he began again while subconsciously gesturing with his front paws now that they were in the air, tell me how that beautifull smile came to grace your face..for surely not all of Torquehelm share your disposition on life"?

Haret turned her head slightly to watch as the male wiggled about on the ground. Her eyes showed the amused laugh that threatened below her stoic surface; she couldn’t explain exactly wot it was, but somehow the way he moved made her want to giggle. He was an interesting creature.
His explanation about his wings was interesting and she eyed the limbs as he flopped over onto his back. It seemed like that should be uncomfortable but the ferret didn’t seem in the least bit concerned. She didn’t want him to be in pain, not from a crick or lying on his wings. She searched his gaze for some sign of discomfort, but he seemed utterly at ease. She could not worry, then, if he evidently was not.
A hint of a blush slid across her face, mostly hidden by the long, dark locks. Not so lovely, not so beautiful, but freer, yes. ”No people can be defined by a single outlook,” Haret offered quietly, eyes skimming past the amusing male to the forest and lands around them. ”Here, as in other regions, there is joy along with sadness.”

"Fair enough, and very true. I suppose it is just another assumption I took for granted. I do try to stay away from doing that, but it seems they do catch up to me every now and again. A common generalization people use to blanket an entire region. My apologies for accepting such a thing as fact without any knowledge."
Looking up at the girl he raised an eyebrow as best he could and licked his muzzle. "And sadness..yes every realm suffers from it. But it is a shame for those who hale from here. I hope someday, someone can lift whatever it is that is over Torquehelm. It saddens me that so many lovely creatures are held back just because of the place of their birth. But enough of that. I dident interfere with anything in my aimless wondering did I? I would hate to be a bother to you."

Haret mused over the male’s words, thinking seriously about the implications of his words. It wasn’t unusual for people to not take –every- facet of an idea into consideration before speaking. He had, she felt, no call to apologize. He did have the right of it, however, generally the Torquehelm residents were as downtrodden as their land.
She didn’t feel sorry for her fellow inhabitants, however. Their land was cursed and they did wot they could to lift it. Someday, they too would be free. Though… Haret had her own thoughts on that matter and they all linked back to their neighbour, the Tulgey Wood.
”You aren’t interrupting anything,” she replied in her soft voice. ”And you’re certainly not bothering me. I’m simply enjoying this beautiful day in my home.” She glanced back down at the Sorgaire Range resident. ”Wot wandering brings you to Torquehelm?” The black canine asked softly.

"I am glad", Lucio replied at her saying that he was not interrupting her. He was truly enjoying this chance visit with the tree-fairing Canine. "And as for the wanderings that brought me here. I suppose the same that take me anywhere else. I set off on a walk..and here I am. Roaming around seems to be what I do, though I really dont consider myself to have been anywhere. I am where I am at the end of the day..or when I meet someone on the way there." He knew the answer really answerd nothing, but it was the best he could give. He really couldent say why he wanderd like he did. It was just...what he had always done, it seemed.
