Her question stirred an odd feeling in his chest ... and he wasn't quite sure what it was exactly, but it wasn't the most pleasant of feelings. He couldn't help but close his eyes for a moment and sigh again, one hand drifting up to his own chest, over his heart, and resting there for a moment.
I've spent so long ignoring it ... I don't quite know if I can hear it any longer.
Oh suits, he wasn't doing a very good job of easing her mind ... was he? He fought the urge to sigh at his own ... lack of certainty and brought his hand back down, running it down her neck and spine without even really thinking about it. His eyes remained closed for awhile, but they were definitely opened once again before she spoke, and a little smile crossed his muzzle.
Y-you ... are one of the prettiest .... I've seen.
Oh yes, because that sounded ever so intelligent. He went to stroke her cheek again, his hand suddenly shaky as a thought crossed his mind .... one that was... painfully unlike him, but he'd done worse things on a whim in the past, right? Sure, he hadn't been entirely sober then but ... he'd definitely done worse. Thus he traced a purple claw over her cheek and down, under her chin to tilt her head up ever so slightly .... and then he paused for a moment ... but managed not to start second guessing himself and dipped his head to give her a short, soft kiss .... his cheeks turning a rather deep shade of crimson in the process.

"That's the saddest thing I've ever heard..." she said. There was no mocking or disapproval in her voice, indeed, she was genuinely sad to hear such a thing come from the rat's lips. "What happened to you to make you ignore it?" she asked, laying her head against his hand on his chest. She closed her eyes and wiped a tear or two away. She knew he probably wouldn't answer her, and he wouldn't blame him. It was quite a question, and it was awkward...and intimate. She didn't imagine he'd suddenly start telling her his life story.
She felt a bit of comfort from his petting. It reminded her of the times when she had been so upset as a child, being pet by Igal to go to sleep. It was more then just that kind of comfort. It soothed her soul in a way...that made it painful to know she would probably never have this kind of comfort again.
Ilana blushed at his compliment, her cheeks rosey. She was confused slightly, but before she had much time to think about it, Tavor had touched his lips to hers. Her chest fluttered slightly. Did he really just...kiss her? She was speechless, she couldn't find anything to say. Moments ago she thought he was letting her go...and now...did he like her to? She didn't know, but the moment felt right, and she smiled, even allowed herself to chuckle once or twice. She shyly inched her face closer to his, her cheeks growning more and more crimson, before she finally planted her own lips on his. It was soft, almost velvety, but she allowed it to linger as she closed her eyes, her mind expanding and growing with the beauty of the moment.

This part was cut and is continued here =3 : decadentsuits.proboards102.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=maturerp&thread=2944______________________________ He felt so much better now that he knew she didn't hate him, and didn't want to leave either, it was a good feeling. His nose twitched when she kissed it, but he was smiling again and the relief was great enough to pull a sleepy little yawn from his muzzle soon after. I'm so glad to here that Ilana. He adjusted himself against the rock once again, it wasn't exactly the most comfortable thing to be leaning on ... but it'd have to do for the night. He folded his wing over her once more, more confidently this time, and nuzzled his chin against the top of her head .... at least his pillow for the evening would be nice. It wasn't long after that that he found himself sleeping into the land of dreams. __________________________ His ears twitched to the sound of a song bird cheerfully singing in a nearby tree, the sound bringing enough consciousness to him to make him realize that there was sunlight on his face. He shifted, making a little noise in the back of his throat, and slowly opened one eye. It was then he realized there was a weight on him and for a brief moment his heart fluttered with panic before his memory kicked in and he knew who it was. He didn't move anymore after that and simply waited for her to wake up. It was .... a wonderful morning already.

Ilana's eyes stayed closed for a long time, as she was deep in sleep. Not even the sounds of the forest wildlife outside or the sun shining in her face could wake her up. She had a small smile on her face, one that told of good dreams and comfortible sleep, and her eyelashes lay delicately atop her cheeks. When she finally opened her eyes, the lids partcially opened, and looked around, realizing that Tavor was still there with her, her smile became larger and she closed her eyes as she streched carefully in his lap before lifting her head to look at him.
Indeed, what a wonderful start to the morning to see him there with her. "Good Morning....Did you sleep well?" she said, feeling the urge to lick him on the cheek, but deciding that it might embarrass him a little if she did. She wanted to make him feel comfortible around her again before attempting to steal a smooch. After all, saying she didn't want to leave...and that she didn't hate him, didn't mean that he would want to do anything like that again. It made her want to sigh, but she refrained from doing that to. How had she managed to get so emotional upon waking up? She supposed Tavor had that effect on her, and she couldn't help but blush a bit.

It was perfectly fine with him that she didn't stir for awhile as he was perfectly content to sit and take in the sounds and sights of nature the morning after a storm, everything just seemed so refreshed ... it was delightful. He did lift his head up off of hers once she began to stir and his gaze shifted down to peer at her, ears forward.
I did indeed, and you?
He would leave out the fact that his back was bothering him from sleeping up against the rock, she didn't need to worry about him ... at least not after just waking. He pulled his wing back, tucking it against himself just like the other, and shifted his gaze back to the forest.
I'm sure I could find some berries around here .... if you're hungry.
That hadn't eaten dinner last night, so he assumed she would be ... he knew he was. He turned his gaze back down, noticing the now dry mud on her fur ... they still needed to clean up to, and some fresh water sounded just ... great.
And maybe some water to?
He laughed a little... soft and with a hint of nerves, but a laugh none the less. Suits she was a pretty sight in the morning .... even covered in mud.

"Yes, you were very comfortible." she giggled a little bit, she looked back at the rocks he had to lay on instead, and she nodded. "But next time, I'll lay against the rocks and you can lay on top of m.." she blushed crimson, realizing the conentations of what she was saying. After a moment or two, she couldn't help but laugh, attempting to relieve some of the tension, and succeeding. She was glad for the change in subject, and so was her stomach at the mention of berries.
"Berries sound perfect. I can help you find them!" she said excitedly, looking out into the forest from their little cranny, then working to get out without stepping on poor Tavor. She also noticed the hardened mud covering both of them, only serving to make her blush again. "Yes...and some water...Bathing before we enter into a town might be....prefered." she said as she streched out her legs and wiggled her tail once outside the little cave. Her tail was absolutely caked in mud, and so were her to back legs, which she rubbed together in hopes of flaking some of the mud off her.
She lifted her head high, her long neck extending to help her find what she was looking for, and in the distance, she could hear the sound of running water. "I think there is a stream nearby, at least...I think I hear one." she said, looking back into the little mudhole where Tavor still lay, giving him a small smile. Maybe they would find berries near the stream, and kill two birds with one stone....or...erm...get two things done at the same time.

He blushed a bit at her comment as well and was quite happy to see her get distracted with the talk of breakfast and bathing. When she removed herself from him he stretched himself out and twisted his neck from one side to the other, cracking it and making it feel so much better then before. He twitched his tail before he leaned over and crawled out from the crevice as well, far muddier then she was. his cloak, however, looked worse then he did and he'd definitely have to rinse it off before they went anywhere ...
Well, following me is how we got here ... so .... lead away.
He smiled to her before he stood up and stretched again since e was able to do so more adequately since he could fully stretch all of his limbs. It made his back feel better, but it didn't fix it all the way. He curled up his tail and paused, realizing something.
I never got to show you how pretty the night can be.

She nodded a bit, but waited until it looked like Tavor was ready to wander around with her before she started walking in the direction of where she heard water. Funny how the world was so full of water just yesterday, and now they actually had to go searching for it. But her satillite ears didn't lie, and soon she found the small river. Her muddy tail wagged excitedly, and in a leap and a bound she was at the water's edge drinking from it. Her throat thanked her for the nice refreshing cool water, and when she lifted her head she sighed with contentment. She looked over at Tavor, "The water is a bit cold for washing in...but, at least it'll wake us up more." she laughed a bit nervously.
She watched the water move down the small incline they were both on, and gulped a bit. She was not looking forward to getting into that water really, but this was all part of the experience of the outdoors, and she wasn't about to get prissy about it. At Tavor's words she looked back at him again, "That wasn't pretty enough?" she asked, genuinely bewildered, then blushing and continuing. "I mean, well....We will have plenty of other nights in the forest, looking for your rose. I figure there will be plenty more chances..."

He followed her to the water and curled his tail, which look particularly awful with his feathers entirely crusted with mud, but he didn't approach it. The first thing he did was slip his cloak off and inspect it and, as he thought, a good portion of it was covered with caked mud ... he'd definitely need to wash it.
Well..... we can always wait a bit and see if it warms up .... this'll take a few hours to dry ...
And with that he finally stepped over to the waters edge and knelt down, testing it with his fingers, it was a little chilly but ... wait, what did she just say? He cheeks took up a blush once again.
N-no that's not what I meant!
Suits he didn't mean to offend her ... last night was lovely but ... not in the way he truly meant. And her second comment? Well that just made the blush travel up to his ears again. He cleared his throat and dipped his cloak into the water, rubbing the fabric together under it and starting to get all that pesky mud off before he finally smiled and turned his gaze back to her.
You just ... haven't lived until you've seen the forest at night.
