Seki found himself quickly beginning to fidget as he stood with Andrei. There was something about the younger male that just made him feel small. Or maybe just vulnerable. The feline assumed it was just the jitters that he was with someone strong enough to make another card black out, but subconsciously he knew he was fidgeting because he was now standing in front of him and Andrei would be able to get a real look at him.
"You're very kind." Seki murmured, and he flashed the smallest hint of a smile to verify this gratitude. Whether or not Seki had deserved it, Andrei did seem to have his best interest in mind...
And then food entered the conversation and the downtrodden feline absently wrapped his arms around himself. If he wasn't self conscious before, he was now. To deny the invitation, though, would be to give himself up to a lonely night... He did say the portions were small, he could handle that... "I think that sounds nice. A cafe w-would be quieter than any bar out here at this time of night anyway."

Andrei stopped himself from flinching at Seki's lack of discipline. Honestly, fidgeting? That made Andrei fight back a squirm. He hated it when other people fidgeted around him. Though I suppose he can't help it, Andrei thought, reminding himself of he overall assessment of Seki so far.
"Splendid! I'll treat, how's that?" he asked, "Shall we head out?" When given the affirmative, Andrei began to head toward the door and leading the way to the suggested cafe. It was a clear night. Though Andrei found the star cover in the city incredibly disappointed as compared to the sight to behold on a hilltops in the middle of the plains of the Highlands. Still, it had its charm in the nightlife and culture that could not be found in the Court. "So, Seki, may I ask where you're from?"

The little feline couldn't help himself. He felt so vulnerable under everyone's gaze and in front of Andrei especially... A stranger he'd only just met but one that was also so young and confident and so much stronger than he was. Seki couldn't figure just what part of all that made him want to squirm and hide.
Whatever it was, it wasn't strong enough to get him to stop being curious.
"T-Thank you, Andrei! That's very kind of you." Seki flushed beneath his dark fur but followed obediently after Andrei once they left. He would allow the other card to lead, simply happy to follow. "I was born in Corvistowne," there was a tiny hint of pride in his voice but it was easily lost in the uncertainty that continued to keep his voice meek and low. "I spent a lot of time in Torquehelm and here in the Capital as well..." He wrung his hands absently. "W-what about you? Were you born in the Highlands?" Seki was so very fond of Highlanders... They were handsome...

Andrei walked on his wing knuckles for as long as he could before going to his bipedal walk. It was a graceless thing in his animal form, especially mixed with the animals that he was, but it couldn't be helped, unfortunately.
Corvistowne and Torquehelm. He'd had a suspicion of the latter with that odd contraption on him, but with the Corvistownes Andrei had learned that you may truly never know.
"Oh, I've heard some very interesting things about both of those places, been curious enough to consider traveling there one day." He left out the 'when I'm older bit' to keep up appearances. He hated admitting he was still legally a child. "Hmm, yes I was, actually," he cleared his throat in false modesty. He knew it was a touch uncouth to brag, but he couldn't help it. His pride wouldn't allow him to not specify "The Court of Hearts, to be exact."

"I really l-love Corvistowne, but I always felt a little out of place... I'm not nearly as talented..." The feline's tail tucked up against his body and he sighed. "But I like the city and all the buildings..." It was comfortable there, safe.
Seki's ears twitched slightly upon hearing those words.
Highlands, The Court of Hearts... Father had hated the Courts, but his half-siblings didn't mind it... and Father had friends there... Or had? Mephit had sent news of someone's passing, but he'd only heard vague things about it from Xylia.
"Two of my half-siblings work in the Court of Hearts... Is it nice there?" For a moment Seki forgot to be shy. He liked talking about his family, and liked knowing things about the places where they lived. Not to mention, of course, that he got to learn more about Andrei. "I hear the Rose Gardens are wonderful..."

[I'm using my magical skills of convenient settings to have the long walk across town suddenly end. XD )
Andrei looked up at the bipedal Feline. He may be a Five, but he'd be damned if he didn't at least acknowledge him having a Bipedal form. Unless he was born with it... then again, I was born a Jack, so I can't really be too proud of something I didn't really work for...
"You ever think of going back?" he asked with a small smile. Oh Hills! He would be so attractive if he just held himself with a little more confidence! His shyness really detracted from the good in his appearance and emphasized the negative. Especially how his ribs poked out... but it didn't look like his binding would allow for anything else. Shame. Maybe another fifteen pounds on him and he'd look a lovely healthy tawny.
"Do you now?" That was just a crazy coincidence. Where they servants? It seemed more likely. "May I ask who they are? That's quite a coincidence."
He opened the door for him and followed after. He loved this little place. He handed Seki a menu and picked one up for himself.

Seki didn't look up at that suggestion, clasping his hands together slightly. "Sometimes..." It was hard to explain why he didn't... Ophelia needed only to look at him and it felt as if she knew everything, and Maxwell... The feline wished he could have lowered his head more, or just melted into the ground.
It almost felt as if Andrei already knew as well.
Seki made sure not to meet his eyes, especially once they entered he cafe.
Family, yes... Back to family, off of him. The feline settled down at a table with Andrei and buried his nose in the menu while they spoke. "My half-brother is a King, I think... Severus. And my half-sister is a Jack, Mephitisia. I.. uhm, think... They were never very friendly so we didn't talk much." The feline's tail twitched a couple of times as he looked over the menu. "I only really know what we're doing through what my other siblings tell me."
The cat hesitated, looking up over the edge of his menu at last. "W-What are you getting?"

That was an odd reaction. Sometimes he thought of it... but he looked somehow guilty at the thought. He bit the knuckle of his wing thumb and glanced down at his menu, brain processing both how to learn more about this little Kitten in a subtle fashion and what he wanted to eat. After a few seconds, he realized that he was engaged in a rather unsightly habit and promptly released the claw. He gave a quick glance up at Seki, hoping he didn't see it. Damn.
Immediately he looked up, over sized ears coming forward. He knew those two. Mephitisia more than Severus, but he was familiar with them. He found Mephit fascinating and beautiful, her penchant for cruelty only serving to spark something he dare didn't name, but couldn't bring himself to part with. Severus on the other hand... he couldn't believe that sulking sack of grease was related to Mephitisia. He looked at Seki's face.
"Yanno... You do remind me of them. Your face... Guh, I'm sorry. How rude of me. I didn't mean to stare so blatantly," he apologized. He glanced back down at the menu, "Hrmm, I think I'm going to get the Crusted Ahi and -my personal favorite- the crackers with the chicken, pear, and cheese. It's pretty small portions, like I said. Have you decided yet?" He looked at Seki with a patient smile. The Feline already seemed a touch jumpy, so he wanted to express he was not rushing him.

Seki found himself blushing again, and utterly thankful for his dark fur to conceal it. He looked like his half-siblings? The feline had never thought so, but then again he'd never spent much time with either of them. Mephit was cold, Severus was aloof... Neither were the sort to spare him more than a first glance.
"I.. It's alright." Seki bowed his head and lost himself in the menu again. Andrei seemed quite confident in his selection of food, which meant he'd been there before... What in the name of the Suits should he have? The feline's tail twitched slightly and he examined the menu again. Andrei's patient smile caused Seki to smile back in return, thankful that the man didn't seem terribly impatient with him, or eager to have him eat... which always just made him more nervous. "I... think those crackers sound really good, actually."

[Done with permission. :B ]
The resemblance wasn't obvious, but there were definitely some similarities that bridged the gap of their differing Breeds. Andrei nodded at him, keeping up his smile.
"Shall I flag down a waitress, then, or are you considering something more?" Seki didn't look like much of an eater, but his step mother was a thin person, too, and she ate like a shameless cow. Andrei tilted his head at Seki's non-committal response. Andrei tried to stay positive. He was so used to people who were so confident in what they wanted that it was sometimes a nuisance, but it seemed an effort to even get a proper response out of him.
Then he saw Seki oggle some of the plates on a nearby table. It was mostly junkfood, cookies and fudge and such. The thought of eating nothing but that revolted Andrei. The most he could tolerate was a bite or two of high-quality fudge. Despite his own personal tastes, Seki seemed very interested in it.
"Does something over there catch your interest instead?" he asked.
