Sabe Leaned a bit forward when the sudo-Mid-Ranger spoke. His words were quite intriguing and he could tell very quickly that this cards honor meant a lot to him, Sabe just hoped that he hadn't bruised that honor with what he had done. He wouldn't voice it aloud, knowing full well that the other may take it as some disrespect of his abilities as a guardian to a Titled Queen in the Courts. It was very odd however when the other showed that he was conducting this interview, as though it was at his leisure instead of Sabes. Which to be at all honest, was quiet amusing to him.
Good words indeed, "You sure you didn't want to be a lawyer when you grew up?" he chuckled a bit, "You would have made a very good one in the least." he leaned back in his chair and opened one of his desks drawers to produce a document that was mostly blank save a few passages of acceptance to a verbal and a physical contract. The rest could be filled in by the parties. "If you mind filling this out then I'll agree to the terms and agreements stated by you verbally and physically" he said as he moved the document across the desk to the other card.

Amherst put his wing on top of the document, but did not pick it up. "I have not finished yet, Your Majesty."
"I am a Guardian, not a soldier, not an assassin, not a thug. My duty will be to protect you from harm, not collect money, not extract information from captives, not fight in your wars. If you go into battle, I will stay at your side and protect you, but will not take the offensive. The Order is strict on this, and I will not allow the Codex to be broken again."
He began to fill out the document. He knew what to write. The Codex was specific on how such documents were meant to be drawn up. "My fee is standard for long-term engagements such as this one: four gold pieces per month." He wrote in long, flowing letters. They were the only kind his wings allowed. "And though it is not necessary, I would recommend housing me near your person. It is the safest arrangement." He finished writing and handed the document back to the queen.
"Those are my terms, Your Majesty."

Sabe watched the flowing script that he wrote in, hoping that he could fit all this on this sheet of paper, else he would have to procure another gilded sheet... and they were not cheep. He tried to make this a professional as possible, and yet he couldn't keep the amused smile off his face. This card was really wrapped in this, he believed everything that he stated with a full heart and without a single thought behind it concerning his own safety. Which was good... and bad.
"Yes. I agree with all that you have said, you are only to be my shield, not the sword or the arm that exercises wrath." he said with a smile and yet stood up to walk over to the large double pained window which spanned from the floor to the ceiling and a small patio outside. They were a few floors up, which was nice... but his office never pointed to the rising or the setting of the sun. He hated that fact, he really wished that the sun would visit him to warm his back. One day he just may get that office, but... with her in his room... it would be harder, at least this way he was out of the way and not to many people came this way.
"Oh... yes a room close to mine..." he said as he turned back to reread the document so that he made sure that nothing was going to be used against him in any way, or that this could get him into more trouble than what it was worth. Well... all seemed to be in order.
So he signed it.
"I'll have this professionally copied for you to have a copy as well." he said as he extended his hand for it to be shaken with the other, a almost sealing of the deal. He had noticed that he had something inside his wing that allowed him to hold onto his weapons without any issue. So there was something to shake. "And your rooms... well... there is a office across my room..." he said as he looked about some... so he decided to show what he had meant... he moved to the door and pointed to the set of doors across the ten paced hallway. "Those are my rooms, that room was actually a office... and the rooms I use of my living quarters was a meeting room, but no one was using them any more... I umm... kinda difficult to find you a room close to mine." he said with a broad grin as he scratched his head with his claws, trying to think of something... he couldn't have him in his room... and this office was way too cramped.

Amherst held up a wing and smiled. The Queen was getting ahead of himself. Amherst did not need to be next to the queen 24/7, even if that was really the only way to guarantee his safety. However, there were obviously privacy issues that Amherst didn't want to intrude upon. "I did not mean that I would have to sleep next to you, merely a residence in the court. My current residence is a rented room in the Capital. It would be...inconvenient if I was forced to run from the Capital to the Court of Clubs every time you needed me. And in the gravest of circumstances, I would not have the time nor the luxury to make a trip."
He took the Queen's hand, shook it, and then stood and gave a bow. "Your Majesty, I place myself entirely at your service. Tell me, besides being at your side in case of trouble, how might I protect your august person?"
