Carrots? Hehe. Kidding. Actually though, I wouldn't be surprised if they used some kind of valuable import commodity. Maybe Tea? It seems to be so common as to be ritualized in the culture. That's not a bad idea. It has a grand tradition in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland after all.

(quite, actually, he strikes me as an industrious sort and we haven't had an industrious fighter for hire since Seth went to seed), more like since Seth seeded some fertile ground, amirite |D -snerk-

Tea seems an incredibly good method of casual currency for the Rabbit society. I rather like it. ~Nathalia

had actually been pondering what Rabbits do for actual wealth for a while. I'd always had this idea where they actually were more dependent on cards than they let it seem. Of course, this 'dependance' isn't seen as such as it is taking advantage of the resources of the numerous vermin.
The real question is how much is made by rabbits? I always assumed furniture would be made by rabbits, because it has to suit the particular heights of leverets and Does and Jacks. So perhaps there are certain 'warren's that have a surplus of leverets that do the labor for that sort of stuff, and perhaps a few indentured Jacks who went there to escape potential madness when they turned Jack without a Doe.
Personal wealth could be accrued by, along the same lines Harp is thinking.. herbs and spices. Not just tea but other types that are expensive in small quantities and can be peddled rather easily to larger distributors by the leverets.
I also imagine that there might be trading of rather basic goods between warrens, especially warrens from different realms. It gives Jacks more reason to keep in touch professionally with other Jacks and trading seasonal vegetables, pickled and canned goods, etc.
