"I am a damn fine person," Felaria grunted in agreement as she heaved the fat possum upstairs.
And then the fucking stairs gave way. Of course they did! The levels of cursing that suddenly erupted from her mouth couldn't beat Karkat's in volume, but they trumped him in creativity and anatomical improbability. There went the Josiggy chick, who she had felt behind her more than once and who had in fact been a fucking real Rabbit, known courtesy of her nifty ability. When they were no longer in life-threatening danger from fire or killer plants or killer anything, she would have dearly liked to turn and grill the little thing.
Not anymore. She was probably dead beneath a pile of rubble.
Then the blob started struggling, making him about a million times harder to carry, and she had to fight with her Club strength and her balance not to lose him altogether. Nova wasn't so fortunate, not with his legs kicking like that.
When the stairs moved, she froze. Then she slammed a hand down around his mouth, vicing her grip so that he couldn't accidentally bite her with those gator-teeth, and hissed a warning. "We are on some fuckin' stairs that are about to collapse under the weight of our combined stupidity. Once we're not, I'll explain more. We need t'go up, Ted. Shut up and come. Can you walk?" Whether he could or not, she'd do her best to help heave him up, following Karkat's lead.
She saved the kid once. She could save herself now.

nova had wanted to surge up the steps once they were revealed, but stopped mid step when Felaria called him. He paused, glanced up the steps longingly before drooping his ears and tail and heading over to collect the possum. Hopefully he bathed... or carrying the feet was going to suck.
And then the stairs he'd been working so hard to find just.... collapsed. He scrambled, trying to grab the steps but he just wasn't fast enough, not with Ted anyhow. When he hit the bottom he bit his tongue in an effort not to yelp at the sensation of his already injured leg tapping the ground under his weight, and then part of Ted's. It didn't help at all when the man started to struggle like that, but at least he managed to keep most of it sucked up .... except for a sharp exhale when Ted's foot got his just right.
The stairs.... what happened? He peered up, putting his ears back as he stared upward, ignoring the little feline face string back down at him in an effort to try and listen to what the voices had to say about this! [11]

Soph was relieved to freed from the vine, even if it was in a rather rough manner.. She was tossed and landed in a little heap on the floor, sliding into the wall [7] with a hiss and a thud. Despite her jaw being as sore as it was, her curse was still very much active and she rattled off a thank you that Felaria may or may not have heard. She flipped her ears back at the sound of the vine thing .... eating the dismembered part of Karkat. That was just a little too morbid for her liking.
And then everyone was in a hurry to leave up those steps, they didn't even wait for her... hmph! She got up to her paws and shook out her fur, enjoying the little breeze from upstairs for a moment before she saw everyone disappear all at once.
The hell?!
She moved quickly over to the hole the party had made and paused at the edge to peer down at them for a bit, meeting the weird canine's gaze for a moment.
Serves you guys right, jerks.
She straightened up and took a few steps back and launched herself across the gap [14] and had her diamond flight ability ready to activate should these steps fall too. She would rather face the dangers alone then continue on with this freak show.

((Kitty, I think our group managed to keep from falling? It was only Maeve that fell down. Nova, Felaria, Ted and Karkat are all still on the stairs at the top of the hole.))

((Jenn is correct, the only person to fall was Maeve. Soph is caught behind the group on a gap, Nova was nowhere near falling in . )) Ted struggled to find his feet even as he managed to cuss himself silly into Felaria's hand. Just because he as going to do as she said didn't mean he wasn't going to be one hell of an ass about it. His side felt like it was on fire! Complying as best he could, he staggered upright and shut up, gripping his side tightly and following after the smarter of the group. The girl managed to sail across to them, but he ignored her, lest she start shouting or something equally refined...
The stairs led out onto an incredibly small landing, with nothing in save what looked like a very bland tapestry...until they reached out and found it shoved aside! This..."secret" staircase actually led through the back of this tapestry into a wide, old-looking bedroom. Very out of place, considering the things they've been wandering through so far! This would look more at home in a rickety old castle on the moors! Struggling to sit upright on the bed is a bright red, Kahmden Bird. She looks disoriented and keeps giving that beautiful, full-length mirror on the far side of the room funny looks. Who the Hell is she?

With all the strangeness that had happened this day already, Sindri had to say this wasn't entirely unexpected. Suddenly finding herself on a bed after seeing two red eyes in the mirror in what seemed to be a rather nice, old-looking room. It was certainly an upgrade from her awkward position in the chair. At the very least she wasn't cramped this time...just not in a great position. She struggled to right herself, her claws catching the covers and impeding her progress. Finally sitting upright she saw a flash of red...and almost panicked before realizing it was her reflection in a mirror. One sigh of relief later, she tried to see if she could find those eyes in the mirror again, her head bobbing up and down and twisting to the sides as she investigated what she could (though she wasn't prepared to go anywhere near it for fear of another "transport"; better an old bedroom than, say, a back alleyway in Corvistowne!). While scrutinizing the mirror from her soft perch, another movement caught her eye. It seemed that the tapestry on the wall was moving...and a few cards appeared to be on the other side of it. As the procession entered the room, she noticed a couple high ranking cards, but also one that wasn't immediately identifiable due to a shirt covering. She was a bit curious about that, but it wouldn't do to be rude and openly ask. The group itself seemed...odd. Not just the individuals (though the Golfam and....Corvistowne was he? seemed to be odd mixes), but that they were all assembled together, and that's what really got her attention. She could not imagine what a group like this was doing together, but the feeling in the pit of her stomach was not a good one. Sindri hopped off the bed and gave the group a short bow in greeting. If it was a more formal meeting she may have done a lower bow, but as it was, this was an odd place, with quite the odd group, in an equally odd situation. "A pleasure to meet you."

The landing was small, but it felt significantly safer to Karkat, and didn't seem immediately at risk of crumbling away beneath his hooves. He did what he could to help Felaria haul Ted's lardass to safety before actually taking a moment to look around the space. It didn't seem to have a lot to help them, but with any luck, it wasn't going to come crashing down...
He prodded lightly at the tapestry with the tip of his tail, hissing at it when it moved in a way that was unexpected based on its position against the wall. Unless...
Very slowly, Karkat pushed it aside, eyes going wide as it became clear he had found some sort of doorway. "What the shit..?" He mumbled, glancing back at the rest of the group to see if they would follow. Then, torch still held out to light the way in front of them, he stepped through. There was a bedroom that didn't seem to match the rest of the building at all, and a woman. Taken a bit aback, the goat-mix took a step back, his ears flattening against his head. "Uh. Hi." The sight of her teal spots made something in his memory stir, but... No. Irrelevant. Right now, he needed to figure out where they were and how to get the fuck out. This seemed to be the only entrance to this room, which meant that the Kahmden woman had to have come in the same way they did.
Right?
"Save the pleasantries, lady. Where the fuck are we?" he hissed, taking a step forward and narrowing his eyes. "How did we get here? I need answers, and you-" He punctuated this by jabbing in her general direction with his stump, "-had better start talking."

Definitely from Corvistowne... Sindri thought to herself as the rude young man started pointing stumps at her. She almost felt pity for him, probably growing up with no one to teach him proper manners. Still, regardless of his lack of tack, he was in need of assistance, and it just wouldn't do to get all flustered by an impolite Corvie.
Careful to hide her distaste of someone who was likely a higher rank than she, if his bipedal form was any indication of that, she kept her voice even as she answered each of his questions. "To the best of my knowledge we appear to be in a room. I myself have been here only a moment longer than you. And you appear to have gotten here through that opening behind the tapestry." She gestured to where the group had entered from.
She actually debated with herself whether or not to embellish on her own situation. It would do the one-handed young man some good to learn to ask questions properly. "Perhaps if you were to ask how I came to be here, and what information I have to offer about this precarious situation I may be able to assist you more effectively."

[[ My apologies, please disregard anything in my post that doesn't make sense. I've got a nice heap of RL bs that makes it to where I can't even think straight. >.< ]]
The canine followed Karkat out of the staircase into the.... bedroom? His ears perked forward as his eyes shifted around it briefly before settling on the bird. He felt a little better now that he'd found the stairs, but a nervous little feeling still prickled under his pelt. He sighed lightly when Karkat started to threaten the poor little thing, she seemed just as out of it and confused as they all had started out as.
He brushed past the goat mix, flicking him lightly with his fluffy tail, before stepping toward the bird with a friendly smile on hiss maw.
Don't mind him, he's just a little freaked.
He cast a glance over his shoulder at the group, more so Karkat though, before turning his attention back to the little bird. Here he'd stop for a moment to test and see if he could put any weight down on the leg he'd been favoring since the beginning, this form was just getting old.
Look, why don't we all just swap information and then maybe we can make sense of all this. you two play rock, paper, scissors to see who goes first or something if no one wants to just spill it.
his ears swiveled a bit to the sides before he tuned out of the conversation for a bit... had the voices disappeared? Did they have another mission for him? Were those the stairs? He concentrated, trying to find them again.
______________
The feline-sparrow was the last one to slip out from behind the tapestry and into the room. Her ears were back, her tail was fluffed, she was covered in suits only knows what and smelt quite a bit like death, to say that she wasn't happy would probably be the understatement of the century.
She paused only briefly before slinking forward, staying away from everyone as best as she could, and crept toward the bed. Man, it just looked so damn cozy.... too bad she couldn't hop up there and indulge in a little nap. No, but perhaps she could indulge in some alone time?
She pawed at the covers for a second before dipping down and trying to stick her nose under the bed... if it wasn't blocked she'd try and slip underneath. Anything to get away from the group for awhile.

Ted gave the Kahmden girl a stare, limping his way into the room and making very slight 'sorry' gestures as he passed everyne, got to the bed, and yanked off a sheet to tear up and wrap his bleeding side. "Sorry, missy, fuckin' dog took a chunk out of my side before I could wake the Hell back up. 'Scuse me." He began tearing and applying them as best he could, grumbling to himself and wincing as he pulled the sheets over torn flesh.
Nova, meanwhile, seems to have lost track of the voices for now, though he can still hear just a vague muttering on the edge of his consciousness, keep checking for them. Soph was easily able to squirm her way under the bed, finding nothing under there but dust bunnies and a thick, heavy book? Huh, what's a book on mirrors doing under the bed, and why are over half the pages torn out?
Felaria and Nova were also able to notice that, as the Kahmden woman glanced toward the mirror, tow small points of red seemed to flash quickly in and out of sight. Did...did they really just see that?

Pleased with herself, and glad there wasn't any scary monsters under here that wanted to eat her, the feline-sparrow relaxed and let her fur follow suit. Her little ears perked at the sight of the book though.... why would someone keep a book under their bed unless it was just... awesome? She wiggled her way over to it and took a moment to brush her hair away from her eyes when she reached it. She grimaced at the feel of all the gunk in her normally silky tresses, vowing to take not just one bath... but fifteen and to make sure at least one of those was a nice bubble bath to boot.
She took a little paw and placed it on the cover, odd subject but, hey, might be interesting right? Don't judge a book by it's cover, she was certain she'd heard her brother say that at least once. She unsheathed a claw and gently flipped the cover open, tilting her head to the side a bit as she flipped through it. Why did someone take some of the pages? Her tail twitched a bit as she flipped back a bit to start reading what was just before the first bit of missing pages... perhaps that would offer her a clue? She wasn't going to share this discovery with the others until it might serve her as useful.
_______________
Nova simply ignored Ted's comment, a little too nice of a guy to make a remark back. His tail did twitch a bit when he didn't find any voices directly, but he could still sense them there.... that was oddly comforting to him. They'd helped them once, right?
The mirror thing though? Yeah, that got to him a little bit. He took a step or two away from it as his hackles rose. What .... the hell?
Did anyone else see that?
He was hearing voices after all, hopefully he wasn't seeing things now as well.
