"You're welcome, Your Majesty." Jovan replied with as he flashed a polite smile to mask the vast pleasure he was feeling just then. Her Majesty seemed pleased and genuinely so, which was far more than he'd honestly expected.
When she mentioned he may actually be doing more than paperwork (bodyguard work no less!), it took all of his willpower to contain the urge wag his tail. He silently cursed himself for not sitting on the blasted thing when he'd entered, but he buried the burst of childish pleasure by bowing his head politely.
"Yes, ma'am, I believe I am. I'd give anything to be able to assist and further the goals of our Court." At last he allowed his smile to widen. "I am well-suited to both tasks, and will happily put my weapons to use for you."
Years of guarding Nico were going to pay off and he'd finally be able to fulfill not only his dreams but his mother's. It was a wonderfully satisfying moment.
