Yess, I almost forgot about the aftershocks. Those can be very unpredictable and sometimes even more damaging than the original quake. Know where your fire extinguishers are as quakes have been known to ruin water lines and start fires from ruining gas lines and such. Not to mention power and phone lines.
I mean, probably won't be that bad. I'm jus' saying.

I saw all the information on the earthquake on the CBS Evening News. o.O;; Thank goodness they were saying there were only minor injuries all along the coast.
They said the earthquake was felt for so very far because the rocks and land in the area is more solid, more of a one single 'rock' type thing whereas the earth and rocks are broken up along the West Coast so it's more centralized to the epicenter.
I'm glad that no one was hurt!!! *hugs everyone* I don't want anything to happen to any of my online family!

A 5.9 is pretty impressive for a place that rarely has seismic activity. The first time I went to NYC I nearly shit myself because of all the brick buildings! I almost went on a rant about how they should all be reinforced, but then I remembered that earthquakes weren't really a problem on that coast.
Ugh. It just reminds me how much our household needs to get an eathquake kit. There's constant banter about how "the Big One" could hit any day, and when you live on the San Andreas Fault like some of us psychos, weeelllllllll....
I'm glad no one is hurt, but I'll bet it was a nasty, unwanted surprise! *hugs*

XD I love you guys. Never fear, Gobbo, the drawings are safe.
Awww, Lucca, I'm perfectly fine, save for a bruise. It was a big glass table and it just kind of...came at me...bro. <3 I half-caught it, half didn't and got it back upright. So it attacked me, but didn't flatten me. All my stuff fell off my shelves though, I need to fix that.

Glad everyone is alright~! Sorry a table attacked you, Nat. Also sorry about your papers, Jenn. *flails love everywhere*
(This reminds me of last year when we had a tremor about a mile from our house; it sounded/felt like someone had run into the foundation of our house with a truck. Not terrible at all, but very startling. xD)

Uh... this is kind of hilarious... Apparently there was a 3.9 quake this morning. I had NO clue until I saw that a bunch of my friends were talking about it on FB.
CALIFORNIA STEREOTYPE = CONFIRMED.
