Passing strange fellow he was, when it came right down to it. The morning he was to leave he managed to rise marginally sooner than Reisz herself, and took himself outside to do little of anything at all, really, but stare out and greet the rising sun. She watched with intermittent curiosity as she did a spot-check of the house. It was her responsibility to look after him, after all, and she couldn't very well do that without any idea where he was.
It struck her a little odd to see someone who had come for coin appreciating an all together different kind of gold, but it was not an unfavorable feeling. Perhaps he would fit in better than she would have thought.
She could sense it was a moment upon which she was not meant to intrude, however, so she left him to his thoughts, and only approached when he was ready to leave. Bates assured him that it was a pleasure to host him; Reisz gave him a wide hyena smile and said, once his attention was distracted, "But I reckon it was more a pleasure for you. Been an honor meeting you, Master McDuck."

Graeme let the memories take him, flow through him, and leave him feeling empty and cold when they finally left him in peace, staring out at the blue of the early morning sky. He was unsurprised to find he'd been crying, and he wiped away the tears with an absent brush of a feathered hand. Strangely, he felt no shame. There had been no one there to see it, anyhow, in that moment of memories and nostalgia. He shook his head, slowly, and forced his stiff muscles into motion. It was time to move on, at last.
Graeme exchanged pleasantries with Bates, assuring him that he'd been honored to stay with him and it had been a great pleasure doing business with him. Gold-orange eyes gleamed in mirth as he he turned to Reisz, a smile on his bill. "Ah'd agree, lass," he murmured, twirling his cane before setting it on the path home. "And Ah could also say the same. Thank ye for makin' certain Ah didn't end up in a great ditch somewhere." He looked over the landscape again, expression slightly fond but mostly unreadable, and then he took his leave of the Veldt.
Not for the last time, he didn't think, especially with a lovely gold mine now in his ownership. He tipped his hat, when he left, richer, older, and wiser...and full of memories and satisfaction.
(BLUUUH end it there? Sorry if it sucked this post fought with me)
