Pravus sauntered in, enticed by the hubbub and general chaotic state of the store. Something good must be happening for this many people to congregate here and he decided to see what it was for himself. His eyes settled on a bright green and black shape and he smiled genuinely at Ophelia before pressing forwards towards the sign and reading.
Banders! Well. . . That was definately something to get excited about. He read over the genetics again and again, trying to remember what he'd learned from Lleurela. She had seen a red one in person. . . so R must be red! Humm The primary colours were red, yellow, and blue. So each of those genetics must be there, and combinations would hopefully work in the same way as they did with art.
He wrote down his choices by clutching the pencil between his teeth and handed it in to the shopkeep.
Pravus' List:
1. Number 4. He's male and by the looks of it hopefully orange. But I like the fact that he's homozygous red. Also, he either has patterns or carries them, good for breeding.
2. Number 2. Another male. I'm not sure what colour but it looks like he has some interesting patterning genes and will pass on colour well.
3. Number 1. I'm assuming she's yellow but she carries a LOT of patterning genes. Really good base breeder for selective breeding.

Aftering hearing about some congregating mass in the center of town by gossip, the fox made her way towards the gathering to see what the fuss was all about. She had only just arrived in the city fifteen minutes ago, after making a long and leisurely trek down her mountain home to pick up some supplies for her new commission. While her main materials were readily available, the metal or string fastens still had to be purchased premade or molded from scratch and then attached to her magically made instruments before sale was complete. This trip was for some long strings and some silver bolts to fit them onto the granite base, which doubled as a tuning device to tighten or loosen said strings.
She barely made it into the business district before word spread to her that some harrah was being held a few blocks away and everyone was heading towards it. While she usually would have avoided those sorts of "overly popular" events, something drove her to go check it out. Call it her near-feline curiosity. Foxes were known for their inquistive nature too. Swiftly, her long, thing paws brought her down the side street in a elegant lope. She came upon the masses with ease and managed to weave her way through the surging bodies with sultry smiles and polite requests. Her tail wove alluringly above her while her hips rocked, suggesting something deeper. Several Cards in the crowd stopped and starred, getting a sweet smile out of her as she moved on, while other made humor double takes once they read one of the many scripts detailed into her fur.
It didn't take her long to reach the front of the group and come face to face with an adorably small creature. Part of her instantly thought of lunch, but that was quickly brushed away by the creature's pure cuteness. It made her want to coo, but such was not her way. Instead, Aroha allowed a distinctly male voice wash over her. He told them of a contest to receive one of those cute things, bandersnatches, and explained the rules pertaining to it. Seating herself a few feet away from the shop keep with a only about five or six Cards between them, the Miirian flashed a toothy grin over to him, her eyes flickering with sin.
It only took a few seconds before writing utensils appeared out out of thin air and the crowd became a mob scene with everyone trying to turn in their paper for one of the promised Banders. Some people were quiet and contemplative, but others were loud and boisterous. Noise flooded her ears, but one sound among them called from among them and made her breath falter. It was deep and low and brought an image of purple eyes to her mind's eye. Instantly, she found herself looking around the crowd for the female, but she pushed the thought back. Now was not the time. Instead, Aroha turned her attentions to the large paper with the genetics on it, contemplated then wrote her choices down. On the sheet it read:
To whom it may concern,
For the contest, my choices are: First - Number Four, because I simply adore the look sound of any kind a leopard. Second - Number Two, because he is the second male and I like the sound of blankets. Third - Number Five, because of gene variation
Thank you for your time and congrats to all that win, Aroha

The pine martin accepted everyone's ballots and placed them in an old food bin he had yet to refill, muttering as he shuffled his hand through the slips of paper. Time to draw the winners...
