Gaining Points
If you want to advance in Rank, gain another form, learn some magic, or up your chances in a breeding, points are what you need! Here are some of the various ways to acquire points through playing.
The only rule we have about points is that you must keep careful track of them for everyone to see. If you come out of nowhere with 50 points and no explanation, we may be slightly suspicious. Also, points are only gained through RP circumstances (ie: playing in character). Posting once in general chat does not get you any points, nor does a post in the breedings section. Points are only given through RP and fanworks.
Points cannot be traded between characters. If you want one of your characters to have some points then you need to play with them in order to get them the points. You may not take points from one character and give them to another. Miscellaneous points can be received from fan writings and art. Unlike normal points, they are unassigned and you can give them to any of your creatures.
One point: You can gain one point by posting a reply to an RP thread, meeting another numbered Card (A-10), or meeting lower-ranking members of Outside Courts (Leverlet/Fela/Follower).
Three points: You can get three points by meeting a creature of higher rank in an Outside Court (Jack Rabbit/Doe/Queen Cat/Tom/Leader) or by meeting a 'lower' face card (J-K). You can also gain three points for finishing a thread (the RP thread in question must be five posts long or longer to qualify). Once you have finished the thread and labeled it as such, you and the people you are playing with each get three points.
Five points: You can get five points by meeting a Queen card or a Joker, or by having a running RP with another person that's over thirty posts long (each involved character receiving the five points one time when the thread reaches 30 posts). You could also get five points if you have a moderated fight, win or lose; if you RP it out, you will each get five points. Referring another member and having them apply with your name as the referrer will net you five unassigned points. Or if you do any pieces of fan writing or artwork (which would be unassigned points). (People who have already gotten higher points for this may keep them, the points are five as of now X3 No alterations to previously given points.)
Ten points: You can get ten points by taking part in a large plot-related RP (you will be informed upon joining if it is plot related, and assigned your points). You will also get ten points if you manage to kill another Card (A-K) or a lower-ranking member of the Outside Courts.
Fifteen points: You could get fifteen points by killing a Queen or a higher-ranking member of the Outside Courts (ie. Jack, Queen/Tom, Leader).
Spending Points
So you've gathered a large amount of points and want to spend them? Here are some of the things you could purchase with your horde.
Some purchases can come in the form of a Queen's favor, which will actually be an item for you to have in your inventory until you see fit to use it. Others are changes in rank and form, which happen instantly when the points are sent in via PM to the admin, Nathalia.
Forms and rank increases may only be purchased with assigned points. All other things on this page can be purchased with both assigned and unassigned points. This had to be changed due to the intensely 'personal' nature of both these increases for characters and the amount of work it takes to make them happen.
Assigned Points Only (Ranks/Forms):
Twenty assigned points: Can be used for any one of the following.
-Move up one step in rank from 2 through 10
-Move up from Fela to Tom if you have a male Fela in the Court of Cats
Forty assigned points:
-Move up from Animal form to Bipedal (Sorry guys, I had to change this to save my sanity...this is already taking a lot of time and I'd like for the form changes to be a little more spread out... If there are any major issues with this change, PM me, those who have already submitted their Biped requests will still only need the original 35)
-Note: Clothing may be placed randomly if you request random clothing for no extra points, specified clothing will cost extra points, anything from 5-50 points extra depending on complexity.
-Note: It is much more difficult for Aces to achieve their bipedal form and it will almost certainly cost more points.
Fifty assigned points:
-Move up in rank from 10 to Jack. This also requires a small RP Quest, set up through the admin.
-Move up in rank from Jack to King (This move requires at least five posts worth of RP in which a Jack ingratiates themselves with the Queen they will follow, if they're aspiring for a Court position, or just the Queen to raise their rank if they're not).
-Move up in rank from Fela to Queen if you have a female Fela in the Court of Cats. This requires some RP with the current Queen.
Seventy-five assigned points:
-Move up in rank from King to Queen (This also requires at least 10 posts of the move up in the Court if there is no Queen present, or RPing with the current Queen, who may not want to fight you and if she is willing to succumb to being A Queen as opposed to The Queen. Or if you fighting the current Queen.)
- Move from Bipedal to Human form (In the PM you send to the Admin, please describe some adornments for your Human as they will need clothing <3).
-Note: It is almost impossible for Aces to achieve their human forms. As something intrinsically connected to the magic of this world, the form is difficult to trigger for someone not possessing any magic, even with assistance.
-Change your Tom, Queen, or Fela into a Cheshire Cat in the Court of Cats (Doing this causes Toms to lose their power in the Court, though no Queen has ever done this before and it is unknown if she would be able to hold sway over her Court...and her mind...or not).
Growths/Powers:
Ten points: Can be used for any one of the following.
- Grow from baby to adult (In order to get this, you also have to have at least ten posts with this baby). In addition, you must have owned the baby for two weeks.
- This small favor can add a very small mutation or accessory to your SD as they grow or gain more forms. You can purchase more than one of these to get more items or mutations, they stack <3
Twenty: Can be used for any one of the following.
-Small magical power
Fifty points: Can be used for any one of the following.
-Magical power attuned to your character
Seventy-five points: Can get you any one of the following:
-A rather incredible magical power attuned to your character
One Hundred points: Can get you any one of the following:
- An amazing magical power attuned to your character
Favors/Breedings/Redraws: So you have some points and you'd rather use them to make the babies you have in mind somewhat...special? Or perhaps your creature has had some...interesting goings on and you would like them redrawn. Say no more; your points shall assist you in getting exactly what you desire!
In order to get these favors, all you need do is PM the Admin with what you would like to purchase and subtract the amount of points required.
Ten points: You could receive one of the following.
- A small magical spell. It can be used once and is usually defensive in nature, such as a spell for light or a spell for knowing other languages.
- A small magical spell. It can be used once and is usually offensive in nature, such as a spell for small spurts of fire or a spell to call up a thick, choking gas.
- A small spell to use while the carrier in a relationship is pregnant. It can have a myriad of small effects on the child(ren) when it/they are born. It is not widely known what these effects are, as they are usually different every time. Some have been known to have nasty side-effects as opposed to good ones, but many eager parents are willing to take the chance.
- An odd favor, this small bit of magic will cause the owner to be the one to become pregnant should mating occur. (As anyone can get anyone pregnant in this society...it's just far more likely for women to become pregnant than men). Can only be used once.
- This favor will increase the possibility of having a mixed-Breed baby by 25%. It can only be used once and has the possibility of making one of your children extra-interesting!
Fifteen points: You could receive one of the following.
- A magical favor to increase the possibility of having a mixed-Realm child by 25%. It can only be used once and has the possibility of making one of your children extra-interesting!
- A favor to temporarily increase the fertility of one of your creatures! It offers a 50% chance of getting extra babies in your breeding. Can only be used once.
Twenty-five points: You could receive one of the following.
- This is a magical favor to give one creature increased fertility permanently! From now on, that creature will have one more baby than is rolled naturally for every breeding (meaning instead of 1-4, it is now 2-5). It can only be used once, but if you buy two, their effects will stack (meaning instead of 2-5 it would be 3-6).
- If you ask of a Queen, they may gift you with a token to take to a trusted friend of theirs who is learned in magic. This person will more than likely take the token in exchange for a magical item befitting the owner! (Some RP required, minimum of three posts, might get extra prizes for good RP.)
- This favor is lovely, for all that it's expensive. It allows parents to increase their chance of having higher ranking children! This favor may only be used once and only while the carrier is pregnant. When used, the child with the lowest number rolled in the batch will be increased by two ranks. The original rank will be posted in the birth for the owners to see.
Forty points:
- Has your creature gained many impressive trinkets, been injured and now possess a very cool scar, lost a limb, or been magically mutated? This favor can be used to get the Admin to redraw your creature with their new additions, though only when slots are open and advertised. Just PM the Admin with what you want added or taken away and it'll get drawn up!
Forty-five points:
- Purity favor: This favor grants the parents the assurance of at least one child of each breed involved in the pairing (this may cause more children than originally planned and any children afterward would have the chance to be mixed breeds).
Fifty Points:
-This magical favor enables the parent (dealer) to customize one baby. (For example if you wanted a cosplay baby, or a special mixed breed/realm) One time use only. This favor can assist parents who want something special as well (Like wings or horns and such)Rare realms, such as the Hisstor wastes, Tulgey Wood, Solandria Glacier, Ramblen Bog, Lowlands, and Mid-Range will cost at the very least two of these to guarantee your custom. The more complex the custom is, the more favors will be required, this goes for rare breeds as well, such as Reptile, Bat, or Insect. Rank cannot be decided using this favor.
One Hundred Fifty Points:
- This magical favor is one of the rarest of its kind, extremely difficult for a Queen to produce. It changes the gender of one Card from male to female or female to male, keeping the hermaphroditic qualities of the genders normally.
Two Hundred Points:
- Changing the intrinsic nature of a Card's breed is a complex magical feat and, quite often, favors to accomplish this feat don't work correctly. A "broken breed favor" will add 15% of another breed to a Card. The breed will be chosen at random by the admin through a roll of the die and cannot be influenced in any way by the Dealer. There is a 50% chance for the breed to be rarer, with the exception of insect, which cannot be gained.
Five Hundred Points:
- Changing the intrinsic nature of a Card's breed is a complex magical feat. A correctly working breed favor will entirely change a Card's breed. The Dealer may include their top three choices of breed in a PM, ordering them from most wanted to least wanted, and the admin will roll a die with different percentages assigned to each choice. Dealers may not choose insect as one of the options. Mixed breeds will have a higher chance to remain a mixed breed.
