Kamina's ears twitched in thought. She supposed her brother was right. Half the time she was stoned anyway, so if he was wrong she could only hope that she would tumble into one of her hazes before her father got upset. That or she could look cute. That normally saved her. "Right..."
The man came back with two small bags for the children. Offering one to each he explained what was in them. "This bag is for the young lady, and this one is for you with two sandwiches."
The little girl happily accepted the bag in her mouth. It was nice of him to wrap it up for them. A small purr escaped her at the smell. Cheese. Meat. Warm joy. The girl would have bounced on her heals if she wasn't trying to focus on where they needed to go.
Hopefully Daddy would be there. And maybe Enkidu wouldn't be so stupidly angry over her saying "no."

Oh, wow! That was even better than Simun had originally hoped for! His purr picked up for a moment as he accepted the bag of food from the man, holding it tightly in his mouth. His whiskers curled happily, the tip of his tail swinging upward ever so slightly. "Fankoo!" Whoops. That didn't quite come out right, but he was certain that the man would understand. Lightly, he bumped his shoulder against Kamina's, and then turned to lead them out of the room.
The walk to their father's room was uneventful. The door was open a crack, but there was no noise coming from inside.
That was odd. Normally, Enkidu wasn't exactly... quiet. Or subtle. Simun's head inclined to the side and he pushed the door open with a paw, stepping inside.
The bag of food fell from his mouth when he screamed, backing up against the door, eyes wide with terror. In the middle of the room, their brother lay, blood pooling around him. His mouth was open and slack, and there was something protruding from his throat. "Kamina! Quick, get help!" Oh, Suits, was his brother dead?!

Kamina enjoyed the walk, her tail twitching behind her in anticipation of actually eating good food. Her stomach was still complaining about the lack of nourishment. If she didn't eat something soon her stomach was going to eat itself.
When they arrived Kamina walked in after her brother her eyes closed, her ears perked and cheerful. The world was a wonderful place. Until she opened her eyes at her brother's alarmed statement.
She gave a surprised yowl as she ungracefully flopped on her bottom and her bag hit the ground, spilling the contents. Her eyes widened at the sight of Enkidu in a pool of his own blood, and they grew wider at her brother's statement.
Get help fast?
The look on her face was one of complete and utter disbelief. Someone needed to act fast and get help, and it couldn't be her because she had a hookah coming out of her back that her brother seemed to have forgotten about.
She resisted the urge to smack her sibling, as it would only be more trouble than it was worth, and breathed out a good deal of smoke before speaking. "Simun. You need to get help unless you want a sister with a broken back and a brother who's bleeding to death on the floor! GO! NOW!" she hissed at the other cat, her fur puffing up.
Though she didn't know what to do with Enkidu. She didn't know what to do in a crisis at all. She was HIGH all the time, and she wasn't lucky enough to be high right now. No. That would have been too easy.

It was the sound of his sister's sharp exhale that brought Simun back to himself. Panic had ridden him hard and left him confused, not thinking properly. Of course what he'd said had been stupid. There was no way his sister could run to get help for her brother. That would have to be his job, as terrifying a prospect as it might have been in the current moment. What had Enkidu done? There was so much blood, so dark on the already-red carpeting...
"Right. Right, okay." He swallowed hard, bobbed his head. Then he backed up, sliding back through the doorway. Once outside, he took a few deep breaths to try and steady himself - then bolted, as fast as his little feet would carry him, towards his mother's room. If he ran into someone else on the way, that was even better. "MOM! DAD! Anyone!! Help, please, help!" His voice cracked as he cried out, and he felt his breath catch in his throat. He wanted to break down and cry.
Somehow, he was sure this was all his fault.
Meanwhile, Enkidu's world was oddly dark and stifling. He was aware, distantly, of pain. His breathing wasn't right, either. It was like.. he was choking on something. A weak cough escaped him, and he tasted metal. Blood? Huh. How had this happened? He'd been investigating the grate, when he'd seen something. It was shiny, and he'd grabbed it in his beak and tried to pull it free. A noise had startled him, he'd gasped, and then... pain. Darkness. And now this.

Kamina had no idea what she was supposed to do. Should she go to her brother's side? Should she try to stop the bleeding? Should she try to wake him up?
She expelled a great deal of smoke in yet another sigh. She couldn't panic. That was the most important part.
She brushed the remnants of her sandwich and the other bag to the side. If someone tripped over it that would just make things more terrible. When that was done she slowly walked over to her brother.
Tentatively she reached out a paw to brush up against her brother's shoulder. From close up she could easily see something poking out of his throat. What the hell had he done to do that? Had he swallowed something? "Enkidu?" she whimpered.
Meanwhile, Peaches was nowhere near where the panicking young boy was. And his mother was actually in her office finishing off a bit of paper work before getting ready for lunch with Pale.

There was absolutely no sign of anyone anywhere nearby, at least not close enough to be of any actual help. Simun did start crying then. He was a miserable failure. Even if Enkidu could be awfully mean sometimes, he didn't want anything bad to happen to his brother. And this - this was more than bad. This was terrible. Sniffling loudly and urgently, he reached his mother's room, and pushed on the door. Luckily, it opened on the first try, and even luckier, the Queen was in the room.
Urgency gripped Simun all over again. "MOM! Mom, something's wrong with Enkidu, he was in dad's room and there was blood and he - he.." The kitten mewled with terror, his tail a little puffball on his butt. "He wasn't moving, and... He needs help right away!"
Noises. There were noises. One of the hybrid's eyes rolled open, but it didn't want to focus on anything. That was okay, he could tell that it was his sister from the smell filling the air. A small smile tried to form, and he groaned. Oh man, whatever was in his throat really hurt. He coughed again, and this time, the blood actually made it out of his mouth.

Xiven had a very bad track record with her children. Or at least she felt like it. They always seemed to get hurt. Not the normal sort of hurt, the horrible sort of hurt that ended badly. She hadn't expected her son to storm in panicked.
For a moment Xiven was froze as she looked at her son. Of course Enkidu was the one to get hurt. Reaming cool and collected was extremely difficult. Especially when her babies were hurt. But she did manage to stay cool in front of Simun.
"Baby," she said as she dropped her paper work and hurried over to the boy. Kneeling down she spoke as softly as she could manage. "I need you to do something very important. I need you to go and run to the infirmary and grab one of the doctors. Lead him to where Enkidu is as fast as you possibly can. I'm going to go now."
When the boy was out of side she had every intention of running. And she really hoped that Pale was somewhere close by... or at least Em!
The woman appeared with a disgruntled expression as Xiven pointed her in Simun's direction.
Kamina screamed. It was the only thing she could think to do when she saw her brother spit blood. She backed up, tripping over herself and falling on her bum. What the hell had her brother swallowed?! "Oh my god! Enkidu!"

Almost the second his mother was down on the ground where he could reach her, Simun launched himself forward with another desperate mewl of fear. He pushed his muzzle against her stomach, his tail tucking between his legs as he shook. All the same, her words managed to reach him through all of the fear, and he gave a weak little nod. "Okay... Okay. I can do that. I promise."
He took a shaky step back from her, looking up into her eyes. His lip quivered as another round of tears threatened to overcome him, but he managed to gather his resolve, his expression going almost steely. He gave her another nod, then wheeled on his heels to retreat from the room, hauling ass towards the infirmary. He knew well where it was - he'd found his father there more than once before. It only took him a few minutes to get there and let the doctor know what was going on, and then he was on his way back to his father's room.
Please. His brother had to be alright.
As gruesome as the coughing might have looked to his sister, it was actually making Enkidu feel a little better. Every cough got some of the blood out of his windpipe, though it also had the unfortunate effect of lodging the metal object in just a little more firmly.

When Xiven arrived she was at the tail end of her daughter screaming, and her son was coughing up blood. This was something that she was not particularly prepared for, and she had nothing in her magical arsenal that would actually fix the problem.
But she rushed to her son's side anyway. Her daughter frantically trying to hide in her mother's side, as she tried to explain what was happening in a rather incoherent fashion. Ultimately Xiven put a finger on her daughter's mouth and told her to hush and wait outside for the doctor.
She did what her mother told her, sitting outside, doing her best not to cry.
Xiven had no idea what to do. But it was clear that something was poking awkwardly out of his neck. Dear god what was that? What had he swallowed. "This is why we don't like you snooping around our rooms," she said as she brushed the boy's mane. She could try to stop the bleeding but she didn't want to aggravate things.
Being helpless was a nightmare.
Once the doctor had been found the green haired Avington went to find the King of Hearts. Letting him know that his son was in trouble was a nice thing to do, and Xiven was probably going to kick her pretty hard if she didn't. Hopefully the man would be easy to find, and not that difficult to talk to with the news of "Your son might be bleeding to death in you bedroom."

The boy's eye rolled up as he felt himself moved slightly, looking up into the worried face of his mother. He coughed again, and closed his eye. He knew there was going to be a scolding. What if he had died?! Would she scold him then? Probably not, he thought, and that was a reassuring thought. If she was scolding him, it meant that he was going to be okay. Enkidu didn't want to die, not really, and especially not from a stupid mistake.
Simun arrived in a tangle of paws and a jumble of words that didn't make much sense the first time they left his mouth. He gasped and panted for breath, pressing his nose against his mother's arm and then trying again to get the right words out. "He's on his way. Is bro gonna be okay?"
A second later, the doctor arrived. A moment after was Apocalypse, eyes flashing bright with worry. Oh, good god, that looked... bad. Very bad. He froze in the doorway, staring at his Queen and his children and the blood. The doctor wedged his own way in, getting straight to work. For now, there was nothing anyone could do but wait. And wait they did. But the prognosis was good - Enkidu was going to be fine. Even though there was a lot of blood and the boy had been in a lot of pain, no lasting damage had been done. They would just have to wait and make sure the wound healed up - then they could try to remove the object.
Right now, there just didn't seem to be anything to do for that. Apocalypse hung his head, a heavy sense of guilt settling over him. He knew at first glance what the object was - it was the tip of his own damn weapon. Shit.
