So, I had exams, lots of them. And then I finally went to start posting 2 days ago and my computer came down with a bad case of a ridiculously horrible virus. Worm? Whatever.
Of all sites to get it off of too, I was looking at a golfing forum. Seriously??
So now I can't open my manager to shut down the virus, or open firefox, or open my anti-virus programs. This thing took all of 20 seconds to completely immobilize my computer. I'm typing this at my bfs on his laptop, and he's leaving to visit family today. So until I have the money to get my computer fixed, or, I go back to school in January, I have no computer access.
I guess. . I need to withdraw myself from the plot threads, I'm REALLY sorry. But there just isn't anything I can really do about it because I don't have the funds to fix my old comp, or to buy a new one. Nat, PLEASE keep the money for my tickets for the trouble I've probably just caused you. I have no idea how this is going to affect everything but I just don't have any other option. I'm so sorry. ;____;

So sad... Viruses are the worst!
Maybe you can re-join plots in January? That will leave a month to play along.

Ugh, that sucks Spidey! :/ I think I might know what virus it is, too. A VERY nasty one. (That my computer has caught TWICE.) There are some programs you can use to remove it but it requires having a second computer so you can boot yours up in safe mode and delete all the files the virus put on there.

A very, very good anti-malware program that I've found is MalwareBytes. If there's any chance you could use your bf's computer to download the program onto a flash drive, and then load it onto your computer (maybe in safe mode? I'm not sure), that might be able to fix it? Aside from that, try figuring out what virus it is and googling it. There are some really good suggestions out there that might be able to help.
Regardless of what happens, good luck with getting your computer virus-free! ;-;

Uggghhhhhhh!!!!!!! At least it waited to be infected after your finals, but that still really, really sucks. I remember back when I had a Dell - that thing caught a Trojan a couple times and having to flush it out and redo everything was such a pain... I hope you're able to get it fixed soon, and I'm sorry that happened to you!

I second the use of malwarebytes. Also if you are into self computer repair, you can try burning a linux boot disk on another computer, booting into your preferred linux flavor and deleting the virus files from there. That works sometimes if you know where to look for the virus's main components. If you don't feel comfy deleting things you can also just boot in linux to save your important files to an external drive and then take the disk out and try using your windows disks for a sys restore.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got that one too. I used Malwarebites and a few other things (along with booting in safe mode) to knock it out. It was obnoxious, but it might be worth a shot to see if you can't get it going again??
If not... we will miss yooouuu T___T
