Rosemary was prone to doing stupid things. The Selkies had been dying one by one. It was actually rather heart breaking. The Lowlanders had gone as well, their realm burnt to a crisp. She'd have to poke around there later, to see if everything had actually burnt down. Right now though she was going to focus on the obvious task in front of her. Shifra, the small water sprite on her shoulder chirped constantly, filling the void that seemed to be filling the region. She gave the critter a light pat on the head as she continued to walk down the road towards the edge of the nearest lake. "Rosemary," Forge said as he trailed behind her, keeping an eye on the surrounding area. His hands were stuffed in his pockets though. He didn't like this idea one bit, and she knew it. At least she had agreed to letting him walk around freely. "Just relax a little. It can't be as bad as the Wood, you know? I also have you. I'm just going to investigate some of the houses. Potentially I could make a lot of money if I find things for survivors. And I would help a tiny bit.""You? Help? That's a first. The World must be coming to an end!""Haha," she said with a snort.

Risks. Bailee took quite a few of them. Why not? She hadn't gotten anywhere taking the slow and steady path. She was impulsive and experimented on herself more often than she would like to admit. So venturing into a land that was cursed wasn't too different. She wanted to see if she could find any deceased residents that she could pull samples from. Not many Corvies were willing to go directly to the Lakes for samples, so she could potentially get a heads up there. It was certainly better than dealing with the crying and screaming living victims. The Collie mix shudder at the thought of dealing with those poor insane people again. She was happy she had managed to get away from that when she could. She had been wandering around for a little while from house to house. Most of them yielded nothing. The place was also an eerie ghost town. Until she spotted a pair of people in the distance. Their conversation was practical a whisper on the wind, so she decided to keep her distance for the time being.

Rosemary stared out at the long expanse of water. It was beautiful, and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness at the thought that all the inhabitants of the area were gone. There were a few, of course, but not enough to count. She had no doubt that they were going to die out.
The little water sprite chittered on her shoulder mindlessly before it spotted the dog in the distance. It lightly tugged on Rosemary's fur to grab her attention. The wolf mix's tail swished as she eyed the small thing, and followed the direction it was pointing.
"Forge, we might have company, be prepared."
"Always," the sword said as he eyed the creature in the distance. They were doing a horrible job of hiding, though it seemed to be a shade of blue. Perhaps it was one of the residents of the lake? Though there was a bit of black? He honestly couldn't tell from the distance.
"Should we go to it, or should it come to us?"
"I imagine we should get the jump on it. If it's hostile it will probably run since there's two of us."
"What if it's rabid?"
"Why would it be rabid?"
"We are in the lake."
"Then we'll stab her, come on." The sword nudged the wolf mix in the direction of the faint figure. What was Rosemary worried about anyway? She could disappear at will if she wanted and he was a damn sword.
