She had been bundled tightly by her new foster parent in one of the blankets from the basket she had shared with the other five youngsters. She tried to wriggle free as the adult carried her farther away from the gleaming white walls. No…no…not away from there! Let’s go back! I don’t want to leave this place She though to herself, but she soon discovered that her attempts to break free were useless. She looked up at the face of her caregiver it was cold and emotionless and scary. Her scaled skin in sunset hues was a definite contrast to her own pale blue and white feathers. She was in her bipedal form as well and that made her even more intimidating to the small child. The female’s reptilian eyes looked down at her own avian ones. Disgusting little wretch, but at least you will be of use to me…you will serve me for the rest of your days. The queen gave you to us and only us…lowly club
“Don’t think that things are going to be all sunshine and rainbows sorgairian…you belong to me and you will do as I tell you to.” The words hissed out of her mouth as she watched the child struggle in her bindings. She looked up at the female with defiant eyes and wished that just a part of her was close enough to peck. This morganberrian was disturbing but she wasn’t going to let her tell her what to do and how to act.
“Y-you can’t control me…I’ll get away from you and come back here just watch me…you’ll see…” her blue eagle eyes looked defiantly into the face of her caregiver. Sigma, as she would soon come to find was her name, was scary but no one had been able to control her by force and she would soon find that out. Sigma stopped suddenly and put the sorgairian youngster on the ground so forcefully that she couldn’t help but utter a small squeak as air rushed from her lungs.
“You listen to me…You are mine and you would learn well to treat me with respect. You are lucky to be placed in my care and not killed by his majesty. You would be dead right now if he had it his way…you will accept whatever fate has bestowed on you. Learn to be grateful with what you have and not anything more.” She hissed into her face. The youngster just looked at the adult with defiant eyes, she hated her already and she wished she would just leave her there in the gutter. She tried to peck the woman with her sharp beak and just barely missed. Unfortunately, her attempt to assert herself only landed her and swift hard slap to the face. Rage grew within her as her cheek ached and hatred grew for the one that was to be her caregiver. “You will grow to learn your place or I will beat it into you.” She shoved the child to the ground with her foot and stepped on her chest. “Do you understand?” She squirmed, tried her best to not attempt to show that she was going to be subservient, but she knew with how small she was and how large and strong the adult was she had no choice. She managed a nod of agreement and wished that the opportunity would present its self soon so that she wouldn’t have to endure any more of this treatment. Tears threatened at her eyes and she just thought of happier times as she felt herself hoisted over the female’s shoulder and lead away from the beautiful place she had hoped to call home and into a hell that she did not want to face.
