Pravus' feet scuffed the dusty roads surface, raising a cloud around him as he walked through town. Sighing a little he continued ambling down the street aimlessly. His dinner of nuts and veggies was not sitting well at all, but Lleurela was still too queasy to buy raw meat, and Pravus refused to eat cooked.
He had slipped out of their small cramped house at the soonest possible moment to try and find some real food, but had yet to find a roadside vendor. It was getting later and he was afraid that they had all closed up shop for the day.
The hungrier Pravus became the more his mind wandered, flitting from subject to subject without much coherance. He vaguely recognized the street he was travelling as the one he had met Ophelia on. He chewed his lip a little, he did miss Ophelia. . . as . . . odd as she was. >.> A Corvistownian with no sense of court politic, but yet, he held a certain fancy for her curious lack of controlling behaviour towards him. So unlike other adults that would scream at him for little insignificant stuff. . like saving people from possessions they didn't need, taking strolls through strangers houses, taking proper vengeance on lowly clubs, or whatever else he could think of at the time.
A furtive glance was cast around the neighbourhood, no vendors to be seen at all. Pravus sat down roughly, almost too tired to continue on home. Perhaps he would find a nice little hiding spot in the area to sleep in for the night as he waited for the morning opening of business. His long slender back leg came up to scratch his neck, causing his beautiful bauble to sit on top of his fur.
He loved the necklace dearly but wasn't yet used to the feeling of it trapping his hair and rubbing his skin. The setting evening sun caught the chain and set it ablaze with light. It was a gorgeous piece, if not a little useless considering where the youngster had nabbed it from. Pravus looked down at the bloody looking scarlet pendant, sitting amongst his fur exactly like it belonged there. He panted a smile and got up, ready to find a nook to call his own for the night.
"AY 'OU!"
Pravus turned lazily in place, wondering who would deign to bother him until he noticed, it was the shopkeep. He was rushing across the street towards the young cat with a rather dangerous glint of metal in his hand. Shit.
"AY 'OU! Yes 'ou! I 'no ya took me necklace. Git back 'ere! I can see 't on yer neck!"
With a quick bound Pravus took off, running as fast as he could. But the bipedal adult form of the shopkeep was just too quick and he started making up ground. His heart beat roughly in his chest as he took a quick turn into an alleyway. He'd been chased before, but always he knew the area, knew where the right turns and twists were to lose his pursuer. This time however it seemed as if Pravus was out of luck.
The shopkeep gained enough ground that he swept a foot out at Pravus catching his back feet and sendling the youngling tumbling with a screech of pain. Before he knew it the elder SD was on top of him, pinning him down with a knife in his hand.
"A'll teach ya ta take me things withou' payin'." A smile full of broken and yellowed teeth smiled down cruely at Pravus before he roughly grabbed the cubs paw, twirling his knife in his other hand. Pravus tried to jerk away but the adult had too good of a hold with his human-like fingers.
The knife slashed down quickly, attempting to take the paw that had stolen the necklace from him. A huge gash was left on the top of the leg, near down to the bone leaving an angry mouth-like wound flapping on Pravus' front left leg.
SEARING white pain shot through Pravus body and he jerked, yowling into the air. Struggling manically to escape from this punishment. Finally thinking somewhat clearly he loosed his claws and slashed the shopkeep across the face and reared up enough to bite as hard as he could on the man's arm. With a shout of anger the adult let Pravus go long enough that he was no longer pinned.
Pravus stood and turned quickly, knowing that he couldn't outrun this crazy person, but could at least attempt to fight. He whimpered a little in pain, holding the one leg up as if it were lame.
The shopkeep rose like a horror movie monster, hunched over and breathing in pants, a maniacal glint in his eye. Slowly he advance, taking swipes with his knife as he did so, warding off any attempt to pass him back down towards the street.
Pravus' eyes narrowed and he hunched lower to the ground as well. Smaller target, harder to hit, he wouldn't go down without a fight. He dodged in, chancing a swipe at the bipeds legs but the knife came down and glanced off his shoulder. He jumped back again, wincing at the new pain. As the adrenaline began to creep in however he started to feel numb and knew that meant that his cuts were deeper than he thought. Not good.
He dodged in again, managing to catch the bipeds legs with his claws but it cost him dearly as that ever present knife came down on his right paw with such force that it pinned it to the ground underneath. A fine tremor began to run through Pravus' body as he looked up at the shopkeeper, now fuzzy in his fading sight.
He wasn't registering things properly, everything seemed slow motion and yet, he still couldn't keep up. He could see the shopkeep lean down with a lazy grin and grab the hilt of the knife. Pravus didn't even feel as the keep wrenched the knife from his paw. Glassy eyes stared blankly ahead as the knife slashed down again.
Pravus tried to move slightly at the last minute, and instead of catching his throat it instead hit the side of his face, cutting sideways across the bridge of his nose and across both his lips on the left side of his face. He fell backward, his legs numb and no longer able to move. The knife flashed once more down between his ribs and then. . ..
POOF
The shopkeep made a sharp surprised noise as suddenly Pravus was no longer there, just a pool of blood where he had been. He was gone. . .
