Dilis walked slowly in the room and sat in the chair Queen Aderlass had motioned to. “Well Your Majesty, I realized it was wrong of me to make assumptions and to address you in such a manner. I should have paid more attention to the courts as I was progressing and would have realized you worked hard to get where you are. I insulted you and it was wrong of me, I will never do it again. Thank you however for giving me this opportunity; I do realize how lucky I am.” She smiled politely and placed her hands in her lap.
She desperately hoped Queen Aderlass would forgive her because she had worked so hard to get where she was and it would be awful to have it all end here. She had a lot on the line, if she failed she could lose it all; her father’s love, and her home.

He listened to her words weighing them for sincerity.
“You are lucky indeed, however, I mean for you to learn from this mistake and thus you will not be so lucky should it happen again.”
From her words it would seem that such an incident would not happen again, so that matter aside he headed to his next question.
“It has been made aware to me that you have already completed your Jack Quest.” He nodded towards where the black ‘J’ rested on her chest. “So my next question should not pose any contest to you. Tell me, why is it that you wish to be a Jack here in the Court? Why not simply take the rank and remain free from the requirements of the title?”
He was interested to see why the female was interested in his Court. She was not like the typical people who entered, so he wondered if there was anything behind her that had her here before him.

Dilis listened to Queen Aderlass' words carefully and formed an answer in her head, he was questioning her but it almost seemed like he was more curious than mean-spirited.
"Well your Majesty, at first I was weak going from rank 7 to rank 10 only for the sake of my Father... but somewhere during the Jack Quest, I realized I wanted to do this for me and show that there was more than just a weak little daddy's girl. I feel I am fully capable of being in such a position and finally have the gumption to say so" She said almost triumphantly.
"I could have just taken the rank and forgot about the quest but had I not done that, I think perhaps I would not have grown as a person. I would have stayed at home forever and catered to Father's will. that is not to be my life" She suddenly felt empowered; like she could do anything and she was almost not even afraid to stand up to Father and tell him about her travels to other realms... that would come at a later date though.
It really was going through the Jack Quest that had done this to her, her mother's words forever rang in her ear and from that day, she had refused to let herself become her father's "puppet". She loved her Father and would cut down anyone for him but she was going to live her own life and make her own choices. She hoped however that he would understand rather than become irrational and do something silly.

He hid a smile that resulted from her words. So the female did have something to cause her to want to make herself better? That was exactly what he had been hoping for though it was not completely expected.
“That was a very good answer, Your Excellence. I can not wait to see where that passion to make yourself better will lead you.” With that he pushed the key that was on his desk before him towards her.
Pointing at it, where it now lay closer to her, he continued, “That there is your key to your Jack Suite here in the Court. Congratulations, you have earned it.” He gave her the directions to where her suite was located as well.
After she had taken her key and given her thanks, as expected, he replied with a nod. “It is a pleasure to have you here, Dilis, I hope to see great things from you in the future.”

Dilis breathed a sigh of relief when Queen Aderlass had given her the key, now she could go home and tell Father all about it not having to worry about a fight. "Thank you, Queen Aderlass it is a pleasure to be here. I will do everything in my power to keep doing well and perhaps one day I will be here to become a King" She smiled.
She wanted to increase in rank but before she did, she had some things she needed to do.... talking to Father was just one of them. She bowed daintily for Queen Aderlass and walked out of the palace. She had a lot of time to think but she was hungry and she felt it prudent to get something to eat before she met Father... she really needed the energy. Now... next thing to do is to get my Human form... delicious plots in her head made her giggle as she walked toward Capital City. She touched her pearls and sang a little tune to herself.
