(( OOC: So... just a little warning. Conway is a tad bit unstable, so he may just purposely piss off the character you choose to throw at him. ))Conway walked down the street with a quickened pace. It was the dead of night, not another soul that he could see was on the streets. He fiddle with the small knife in his pocket. He had promised June he would come back to her someday. But... he had murdered someone in cold blood. Someone with a family. Someone who held quite a bit of weight on his shoulders. Someone who... lord. He had murdered the Queen of Hearts. The boy, that's all he really was at his age, pulled out the knife briefly, running his finger along the blade. He could just give up here in the middle of the street. No one would notice his dead body until the morning. No one would care if he was gone. June would. June wouldn't be happy. If her brother never came back, what would she do? He couldn't break the promise. But. He slipped the blade back into his pocket. No. No. He took the blade out of his pocket and threw down an alley as he continued to walk down the empty streets. Oh, what had he done? What had he done!

George hurtled down the street, soon he would be out of the Capital and heading back to the Wood. Soon, very soon. He would just have to hope that Master was waiting at the edge of the Wood to fetch him, he had no earthly idea where Master's home actually was. He had spent the last few days hiding in random places, making his way slowly through the Capital and away from the palace of Hearts. He didn't know what to think anymore. Meeting with Mr. Whip again...and seeing him in the position of the Queen of Hearts was unnerving to the extreme and he just wanted to get as far away from the Murderous Hearts as he possibly could. As fast as he could without being seen at any rate. His heart was thumping uncomfortably in his breast and he felt again the strong urge to turn to the South and head for the Court of Spades. Mother... He couldn't even remember her face, he just wanted to see her again...even if she didn't know who he was. "What's gone is gone. Come directly back to me, George..."His Master's warning before they had set out for the Court of Hearts rang again in his mind and he felt tears of frustration beginning to slide down his face once more...damn. Turning the corner he nearly died of shock to see another Human coming toward him. Leaping backward he choked, then coughed for a few seconds before gasping out. "S-sorry, didn't see you."

Conway was taken completely off guard by the other human form, and a squeak escaped his mouth as he skidded to a halt. His eyebrow twitched as he looked the other man quickly up and down. He looked rather scraggly and.... rather scraggly. There really wasn't an impression beyond that. But judging from the chains he must have been a Torquehelm.
"What the hell?" Conway found himself saying. "Are you crying?"
Oh damn. Now he couldn't pretend he was mute and just flip him off without a second glance. This was probably the worst thing to do. Conway's heart skipped a beat from his own stupidity. Why would someone be wandering down the street in the middle of the night unless they did something bad? Conway bit his lower lip as his heart pumped faster. He should just walk away, he shouldn't pause and wait for a response.
He dug his nails into his hands, he wasn't going to make any sudden moves until he knew it was safe.

"W-what?"
The question caught him completely off guard and he self-consciously began to wipe at the tears that were still escaping.
"I-no, no it's nothing. God god, I'm sorry."
The man in front of him looked to be about his age, now that he observed him...though for the life of him he couldn't tell the region. Nicer dressed too, perhaps this other man had a caring home. Well, technically he did now...Ellen and Master took very god care of him and Fravell was fun to be around...
A family...he almost had one now, if only he could get back to the Wood....
He rid himself of the remaining tears and lifted his face to the other's, painfully aware of how much he resembled the newly deceased Queen of Hearts and wishing he could just bolt.
But then this man might yell after him, and who knew what else might come charging out of the darkness if that happened?...

Conway raised an eyebrow. "Stop apologizing. It's not like you knocked me over like so many other people...." This was terribly unnerving. Something really didn't sit well with Conway. The crying thing. That.... guh.
"I can't imagine...." Conway said as he filled with his bracelet absently. "That crying in the middle of the night is a good idea." He really didn't like this at all. Why was he bothering to stick around? Conway had half a mind to go back the way he came. Then again, he really didn't know which way he was going.
And why did this man... look... really he need to stop thinking. This was going nowhere so very fast. He made a sound akin to a whimper as he brushed his fingers through his hair, keeping his eye on the man. "It's just unnerving."
Just walk away. Just walk away! Conway quickly glanced up and down at the man again. What the hell was with those watches? Why would a four of Clubs...? This had to be really really bad.

George flinched slightly at the reprimand, but nodded. The look on the other's face was indescribable, and his clothing covered up his suit and rank...George wondered if the man was going to take him in...or if he was of a high enough rank to kill him. He swallowed hard and fought back the burning sensation at the edges of his eyes.
"Yes, sir. Of course you're right...I-I didn't mean to make you angry. I-"
He looked up again, surprised by the odd sound the man made, had he just whimpered?
"Are you...are you alright, sir? Do you need help?"
He wasn't sure what to do, the man looked fidgety and nervous and he knew he should just try to duck by him and run...but....was he ok? He didn't seem to want to harm George...
He looked harder at the face, at the scars and the untidy appearance.
Where had this man come from?

"I'm not okay at all," Conway said shaking his head in dismay. "No place to go, no one who cares. I did something stupid and I'm better of dead." He made another awkward sound. Damnit. He really needed to shut up. This had to be because he was tired. And guilty. Oh God. The guilt.
June would never forgive him when she figured it all out. She would want to see him because she loved him, but she would never forgive him. And now he just told a complete stranger that he was actually quite in trouble. He dug his nails into his hand. He should just walk away now, right? If he left now no one would notice another dead body on the street.
"I shouldn't bother you. But... this... you wouldn't know... any place I could get a job? I'm... really sorry if it sounds strange. I just... I don't even have a cent to my name." Wow. That just sounded ten times worse out loud. That was why he kept his mouth shut most of the time.

"I'm not okay at all,"
What? That was the last answer that George had expected out of the other Human. He had done something stupid? No home? No one cared?
This sounded familiar.
"I...hey, it's ok."
He moved forward hesitantly and tried placing a hand on the other's shoulder...Master did that to calm him down and it always worked at least a little bit.
"I...I know how you feel. My father tried to kill my mother and I a long time ago and I've been running ever since...so that they don't get her. Though...my father's dead now so it's at least a little better..."
Though they could still hurt her...
Maybe telling the other man these things would make him feel better? George wasn't sure, he didn't get time to interact with Cards very often, he wasn't sure what was and wasn't alright to say...
"I don't really have a job or a home either...but I do stay with my Master...and he'll feed me later so..."
He dug into his pocket and pulled out the few coins that the White Rabbit had given him and handed them over to the other man.
"I guess you can have this."

Conway flinched at the touch but didn't pull away completely. Someone other than June touching him at the moment was just troublesome. He tilted his head at the story.
His father was dead now...? That... that. Conway shuddered. He didn't want to remember anything right now. The blood. The screams. Really didn't need those images now.
He closed his eyes and bit his lip so he could focus on the word's coming out of the other man's mouth. Conway was surprised to find that money was being placed into his hand.
"What.... I don't understand? How can you... how can you just..." he stared wide-eyed at the stranger. If the man had known what Conway had done he wouldn't have shown such pity. "I can't just take this."
Conway felt the corner of his eyes burning. Oh damn, not now. He wasn't going to cry when he was just complaining about the other man crying. "Thank you... but I just can't take it."

At the flinch George drew his hand away entirely, honestly afraid of being bitten...again. That had happened to him once, he had hidden for over a day after that...
The man before him shuddered, looking almost ill...George didn't know what to do for him, he knew still in the back of his mind that he should be running but...this man seemed...almost like him.
Maybe he could make a friend?
Alas, that didn't seem like it was going to work as the money was shoved back into his hand. George looked at it curiously, not sure what to do aside from give it back, this other man...seemed to need it more. he had no home, George had a sort-of-home. At least he would be fed when he got back. Ellen would see to that...even if Master told her not to.
"I-I think you can. I don't really need it that badly, Ellen will give me something when I get back and, well..."
He wasn't sure what to do to get the other to take the money, he shuffled his feet in the dust and looked away.
"You just can, because I said you could. Um...my name's George, by the way. Hi."
Lame, he knew it was but. Friends knew your name, didn't they?
