"Well," Pascha started as he went to find some sugar, "You have to get it down somehow. We could always keep pouring things in until you can't taste anything anymore." The owl came back with a sugar dish and poured liberal amounts in until he was told to stop--and snickered, because he'd forgotten to bring a spoon to stir it and the lumps of sugar were refusing to dissolve.
"I'm going to go find something to snack on, I'll be back in a bit." He started towards the doorway, then paused. "And don't pour it in anything, will you? I keep trying to save that poor plant in your office but all those chemicals just keep killing it."

[[Time skip to Ader leaving for his birth]]
Pascha paced back and forth in front of the doorway of Aderlass's suite, his thoughts running in a chaotic pattern. What was Ader going to do with the child that he couldn't do perfectly well here? Why did have to leave for two months, surely the travel time wasn't a month both ways? And what was he to do for two months? Even assuming he was perfectly able to handle himself for that long--which he wasn't, because he knew distress made him worse, and this was certainly distressing him--he had nothing to do. He wasn't a Jack yet, he had no official duties, he merely helped Aderlass when Aderlass requested help, and the suits knew Anoushka didn't want his help, though he certainly tried.
After he had paced enough that his legs were protesting, he slumped against a wall and watched the hands on his watch tick.

“Not tasting it sounds like a wonderful idea,” I replied to the owl’s comment. “I just dare you to try some of it, and then you might be a little considerate to the torture that I must suffer.” Yeah, when Jack Rabbits exist, he taunted to himself.
Motioning for the owl to stop pouring the sugar into his cup, he then started at it with distaste as he saw that the owl had ‘forgotten’ to bring a spoon. Giving the owl a glare he gently snarled, “Do you realize how lucky you are that I like you?” Some days he found himself wondering just why he put up with the avian’s antics.
He did not respond to the owl’s words, only rolling his eyes when the owl mentioned the plant in his office. He hated that plant anyway. Giving a long sigh he closed his eyes as he quickly downed the drink. At least there was a bunch of sugar at the end.

He pulled the cloak tighter around him. Making his way down the hall he started on his way away from the Court grounds. It would take him about two days, maybe a little more now that he was hampered by the weight of the child, to get to his destination. He had contacted the canine a few days ago so the person he was to meet with should already be on his way.
As he made it to the gates, he glanced over his shoulder. He really hoped all this was going to turn out okay. How Pascha would fare weighed on his mind as well. When he made camp he would have to contact the lad and check in on him. Well the quickest way to get this over with was to get it started, with that he headed off.

[[.. and jump to the present!]]
Pascha was utterly and completely bored. He'd worn out the 'annoy Anoushka' option nearly a month ago, and without Aderlass there he wasn't willing to buddy up to anyone else. People he tried to meet on his own tended to end up in less than pleasant conditions, especially when he was stressed.
Let it be known that Pascha was very, very stressed.
Aderlass's protection in itself and within the Court of Clubs was his only protection and he kept it very near and dear to his heart--and while he still had the Court of Clubs surrounding him, without Aderlass there to back it up it made him a very nervous little owl.
Today, however, Pascha had worn out his limited capabilities for stress--when it got to a certain point, he simply started getting tired. The owl was laying on the floor in the dead middle of Aderlass's bedroom.. mostly because he could, but also because there was a very interesting spot on the ceiling that he was trying to determine the origin of.
Needless to say, that bored him more than doing nothing did, and eventually he curled up and slept on the floor, fully intending to spend the next few days until Aderlass's return on the floor. It was actually kind of comfortable.

He was tired, and sore, and hungry, and grumpy . . . and at this current moment just wanted to be back in his suite. He had been traveling for two days now, his burden much lighter now that the child was out of him. And what an adventure that had been. It was defiantly something he never wanted to experience ever again.
As he made his way onto the Court grounds it was late in the evening and many of those in the castle would be heading to bed if not there already. Too tired to make a scene or care about formalities he snuck into the castle through one of the side doors.
It was within reach. Home, warmth, a lovely soft bed, all of it was within reach.
While away he had tried to make sure he contacted Pascha at least every night to see how the lad was doing. He was worried that something would happen to endanger the boy or that something would set the lad off. From the way Pascha had talked to him the last few days his worry for the lad’s health had only grew.
Making his way towards the door of his suite he felt some of the built up tension leave his body. Silently he made his way into his suite, leaning against the door wearily after he had shut it. He was home.

The pgymy owl lay on the floor exactly where he'd been ten minutes ago, except he was twitching every few seconds in what seemed to be a dream.
Pascha was actually dreaming about being chased (which accounted for his legs twitching) but he couldn't figure out what he was being chased by--everytime he turned around to look his vision blacked out until he faced forward. The dream was odd enough that his conciousness wanted out of it, so despite Ader having shut the door quietly, the owl awoke, but was disoriented. "N-n-no! Go away, stop chasing me!" The owl whispered to the darkness, as he had never bothered to light any lamps. His eyes were open but still unseeing, caught partially in his dream and partially in reality.
Pascha had never been good at separating reality from insanity, or dreams, as this case was. "Leave me alone!" His whispered again, but louder this time, and began rolling around on the floor, his small frame maneuvering somehow despite the darkness.
Within a few seconds, he hit a nearby piece of furniture, and was knocked completely out of his dream. "Ow. What the hell.." He didn't realise anyone had entered, however, so sat up, sighed, and stared blankly around.

Though he could not see a thing he heard Pascha’s voice clearly through the darkness.
“Pascha? Pascha where are you? Pascha!” He called becoming more worried when the owl did not respond. He ignored his physical fatigue at the sudden worry that consumed him. Something was wrong with Pascha.
Hurrying over to the stand he felt around for the matches and feeling them fall and scatter to the floor quickly gave up on them. Reaching out towards the wick with one of his hands he lit it with not much of a second thought. His being able to control his heat was nice.
Turning he spotted the owl as he sat up, appearing to still be caught up in whatever it was that held the creature in it’s grip. It did not appear that he was caught in one of his Spells and the only other thing that the mouse could think of to cause him to act this way was his nightmares that he got sometimes.
Making his way towards the owl he was startled when the owl awoke and started to run from him . . . well that was until the owl ran into something. He made his way swiftly over to the owl’s side, gathering him up in his arms in a hug that was both gentle and hard at the same time.
“You are okay. I am back. Everything is fine.” He said the words as if he was not just speaking them for the owl’s ears.

The owl raised his head sharply at the sound of Aderlass's voice--was he still dreaming? Then the mouse began hugging him and he got some fur in his beak, so no, he wasn't dreaming. Only Ader actually hugged him, and he never dreamt of people hugging him.
"Nnngh," was all he managed to get out at first, as his beak wasn't in the best position, but after he shifted he exclaimed, "Aderlass! You're back early!" It didn't occur to him that the mouse would be worried about him because he didn't realise how bad his dream had been, so wasn't sure why be was being reassured, but went along with it. "Yeah.. is something wrong?"
After a moment he noticed that a lamp had been lit.. when had that happened? Maybe a servant had come in while he was sleeping.
Pascha was still a bit disoriented.

When he felt Pascha shift himself into a more comfortable position he let his hold loosen some but still kept his arms around the owl, needing the comfort for himself if nothing else. It was good to be back. Pascha would be here, Pascha would make things right again.
“Yes, I just arrived back to the Court. Everything went fine, we are all fine. Whip took . . . Everything will be fine now.” He responded, resting his forehead on the owls shoulder. He was not going to say much more on the birth just yet, not unless the owl asked him about it.
“Are you okay?” He asked, meaning in general not just from the nightmare he had just suffered. “How did Anoushka treat you? Anything happen? I am so sorry I had to leave you like that. It will not happen again, I promise.” He asked, turning his attention to the owl instead.

Pascha was mildly disturbed with the sudden need for physical contact displayed by the mouse. Hadn't he found someone, anyone, to cuddle with down wherever he'd gone? Really now, was it so necessary to keep hugging him? Mind, the owl had nothing against physical contact, but prolonged amounts of unnecessary (or in this case, unwarranted) affection made him want to poke at Aderlass with an ice cube or something cold until he let go.
He didn't, but instead tried not to sigh or squirm and managed to stay where he was. Hopefully Aderlass would get his fill of 'happy fun tiems' soon enough.
"That's.. good," He started, then paused and frowned. "Whip took.. where?" Pascha was intensely curious to know more about the baby, since it was evident that it had survived and was well; no doubt he would have heard more if it wasn't. What gender, what did it look like, and why didn't Pascha get to see it yet?
"I'm.. fine." He said, hesitantly at first, but then with force. There was no point in the mouse worrying over him just yet. "Okay, no, and it's okay, relax, will you?" Perhaps it was because Pascha hadn't been expecting his arrival so soon, but Aderlass's abundance of anxiousness was making the owl calmer, if anything.
