At the owl’s words, a hint of frustration mixed in, the mouse could not help but give a small smile. Trust Pascha to always make things right. Taking a few deep breaths he tried to calm himself.
Slowly he released the owl from the hug though he kept his hands on the owl’s shoulders. He could not bring himself to completely release the physical feel of the owl, to allow any of this to be less real.
Taking a deep breath he set his mind to explain, it was safe it Pascha knew. “It was a boy, Whip took him at my request. I just could not . . . it would not be wise for the boy to be here at the moment.” He explained trying to reason his own choice to the owl. Whip and him had talked long and hard about the decision and everything was bound to work out for the best. It had too.
“He is half and half, he will take after . . . him to some degree, though thank goodness not completely.” Thank the Suits.

Pascha rose an eyebrow as he visibly struggled to calm himself down. What had gone on that Aderlass was so visibly worked up? The owl knew Ader tended to let his barriers down around him more than others, but rarely did he ever see quite such a blatant show of emotion.
Being released a bit more helped his own thought process--he just didn't like random hugs, and that was all he could concentrate on when someone was refusing to let him go.
He listened carefully to Aderlass's words, and tried not to cringe at the 'half-and-half' comment. They both knew Pascha didn't react well to Corvistowneans. He was getting better, that was true--Elyse only set him off occasionally now--but it made him fear that he might accidentally hurt the poor child if he were to meet him. Nevertheless, he was curious.. "Will you be bringing him here at some point?"

He eyed Pascha. It was true that the child had looked half Corvistownean, which might pose a problem when around the owl. There was only one way to know if he would though, honestly. “He will come here to visit every now and then. It would not do for him to be completely unfamiliar with the ways of our court and our people. He will mostly stay with Whip though.” He was not quite sure what was to happen, though Whip and him had talked about it in passing. They would communicate more on the subject when the child was older.
The topic made him calmer, and finally he sat back releasing the owl from his touch. Looking around the room he saw that it was much the same as when he had left. “So you did not get bored enough to change around my suite? That is a good sign.” He commented in a joking tone.

"Did you.. name him?" The owl inquired lastly. Names were important to him--without his, he would never have had any kind of identity all those years in his past.
Furniture! Bah. The topic made Pascha scowl around, particularly at the heavy chair he'd knocked into a few minutes ago. "I tried, I tried!" He pushed himself to his feet and walked over to the side of the chair, where he quickly morphed into his bipedal.
Pascha began trying to lift it, but it was quickly evident that he would not budge it more than an inch upwards, and dropped the chair after a moment. "It is far too heavy for me, I am too small even in my bipedal," He griped, then shifted back down to his animal. "Get lighter furniture!" Pascha was tempted to mention what he had done when he was bored--namely bother Anouskha and do nothing--but figured Aderlass would find that out sooner or later anyways.

He was a silent for a moment before responding, “Whip and I agreed on the name Ignatius.”
When he saw Pascha walk over to the chair, shift forms, and then back again in a vain attempt to move the chair he could not help but laugh. After his laughter had died down some he responded “I . . . am not . . . the one who . . . bought it.” He had let Pascha pick out the new furniture when the mouse had decided to change the look of the suite, so it was not him the owl should be blaming.
Yes, he had missed the owl while gone. Pascha always seemed to be able to say or do something to cheer him up. “Well if you did not do harm to my furniture then I am sure Her Highness will have quite a few stories as well as complaints to fill my ears in on.” He gave the owl a mock glare, his smile betraying the fact he was more amused then anything.

Pascha nodded in response. Ignatius. He had no idea what it meant, but it seemed strong enough to hold the child up for his.. interesting future. Vaguely he wondered what kind of childhood he would have, being hidden away by Whip, but hopefully Aderlass would at the very least introduce him to kids of his own age so he would not be so alone.
The owl scowled at him. "I may have picked it out but how was I to know it was so heavy? They hardly let you pick it up at the store!" Indeed, the furniture salesman had looked at the two of them askance, as if they were some sort of oddity.. and, well, okay, they probably did look a little weird. A small white-and-black owl and a small bright red mouse with purple accessories and a cane made an interesting pair.
"... Heh." Was all he said about Anoushka, for he had no idea what she really thought of him at this point. His Jack quest was going to be interesting when the time came, for she was not likely to go easy on him.. though Pascha imagined she'd enjoy telling him what to do.

He gave another laugh at the owls comment. The designer had indeed looked at them in a questioning way when he had come to see what he could do for His Majesty, but had known that it would not have been allowed to ask about it out loud.
Why did everyone think he was gay? he thought in passing. Yes he was bi, but there was Minh. Shaking his head he brought his attention to a matter at hand.
“Pascha, would you mind scurrying up some food?” he asked the owl. It had been a while since he had last eaten, having made his journey home as fast as he could. He was still recovering from the delivery, though most of the healing was done.
He was sure that His King was going to want to know he was back. He debated between informing her now or see about it first thing in the morning. “And have one of the guards inform Her Highness Anoushka that I am back and will see her in the morning.”

"Hmm? Oh, sure." The owl got back to his feet and headed towards the door, only to pause when Aderlass spoke again. "Will do." He headed out the doorway and into the hallway. There was a guard at the entrance to the courtyard and he the owl paused to request that someone be sent to King Anoushka, which the guard immediately went to do.
Satisfied, he traipsed his way over to the kitchens, which was unfortunately across the courtyard. It was dark with only a few lamps lit, so he decided to shift to his bipedal in order to move faster. He could fly, but his control wasn't the best, and people tended to get pissy with him when he knocked things over.
After hitting up the kitchens for some sandwiches and a nice big pot of coffee, he returned to Aderlass's suite. The owl set the tray down on the table in front of the mouse. "There you go. I told a guard as well."

When Pascha left to go fetch the food and inform a guard of his new task, the mouse lifted himself off of the floor and made his way over to the couch. Settling down he gave a sigh, slowly sinking into a comfortable position, allowing the warmth of the room embrace him.
When the owl made his way back inside and placed the sandwiches and hot pot of coffee before him, the smells awoke from him from the light doze he had fallen into. “You are a wonderful blessing. Thank you ever so much, Pascha. Come,” he waved towards an empty chair, “Sit. Eat.”
He had the inkling that the owl probably had not eaten much while he was away. There were not many who put up with or knew about the owl’s existence so he was sure it had been boring for the owl. Food, coffee, and then bed, that sounded like a wonderful plan.
