"Oh look! Look, Katerinka, isn't it beautiful!" Innokentyi was practically plastered against the window of a jewelry shop, his wide eyes fixed solely on a sparkling necklace. It was quite obviously the most expensive one there, with light flashing off of faceted diamonds, sapphires, and rubies, all garunteed to catch the attention of a certain Ten of Hearts. He and his sister had been walking along the streets, glancing in the windows occasionally, and then he'd seen the necklace, which was far finer than anything Daddy had ever given him. Maybe Daddy would buy it for him, if he told him? Oh, he hoped so! It was just so pretty, and it shined like a star! "Do you think Daddy would get this for me? Maybe?" he asked hopefully, looking over and up at his sister with bright eyes. "...maybe," Katerinka said grudgingly, though she couldn't help but smile at him, nudging companionably at his shoulder. He grinned back up at her, and even though she knew his little trick, she found herself wishing for the time when they'd just been kittens, and nothing mattered to the two of them except for playing with each other and having fun, and making the most out of every single day. Well, that hadn't changed for Innokentyi, but it certainly had changed for her. Now she had to worry about him all the time. Even if Daddy hadn't told her to watch out for him, she would. Even if Daddy told her to leave her brother alone to whatever fate had been planned for him, she wouldn't. He knew that, fortunately. "Oh look! Look at that one, too! Those earrings! Aren't they lovely?" Inno gasped, his attention once again directed to something else that had sparkled temptingly.

"You really liked the shiny expensive ones," said the young sparrow. He had been staring at the window for some time now, looking at all the jewelry. He honestly wanted some himself--but of course he would never ask his father for things. That feeling of want just disappeared as soon as he spoke with his straight laced father. Ez had wandered to Capital city by himself, he was almost eighteen, but his father was still horribly protective of him. It was like he was losing an arm or something. Ez tapped the window lightly, trying to direct the feline's attention to a small golden necklace with a bright green gem hanging from it. "I think that one would look better on you," he said smiling. The one thing his father was right about was kindness to strangers, no matter what. Talking about nothing wasn't something adults wanted to do on a regular basis. And, you know, if shiny jewelry was involved how could anything go wrong?

The young Selkie Lakes attracted the attention of both siblings, though for very different reasons. Innokentyi was absolutely delighted that someone else was sharing in his, "oh shiny!" experience, while Katerinka was (as usual) wary of him initially. A bipedal sparrow, and, judging by the fact that he still didn't look to be quite an adult, born that way. Though he was a Six - the same rank as her - the fact that he was bipedal gave him a mild rank advantage over her. Not over Innokentyi, though it wasn't like her brother would ever think to take advantage of that fact.
"It is pretty, isn't it?" the male feline asked, delighted gaze switching over to the far more delicate piece of jewelry. He didn't mind that Ez had just started talking to him out of nowhere. He was talking about pretty things! "I like it a lot. Maybe Daddy will get that for me, instead. Ooh, look! You'd look so pretty in those!" he cried, pointing with a paw toward a set of wrist bangles, gold and silver intertwined, sparkling with rubies that matched the Diamond mark on Ez's chest. They were thin, obviously designed to be worn as a collection upon one's wrists (or ankles, or tail even) instead of just a single one. "You've got legs - you could dance and they'd chime, right?" he asked, grinning at the sparrow as if he'd come up with the most brilliant idea since ever.
Katerinka watched the pair for a second, before shaking her head minutely and deciding that he couldn't be that much of a threat. Yet. "I'm Katerinka, and this is my brother, Innokentyi. It's a pleasure to meet you," she said dryly.

"Really?" The sparrow tilted his head, "I think I agree with the dancing thing though. That would be quite fun." His smile widened, "One day I'll get myself a corset. Pretty and pink."
Apparently this feline's father bought him things all the time. He was either rich or something was amiss. Ez could only guess the latter, but he kept that very much to himself. This man was very nice, and didn't deserve to be mistreated. Then again, no one did, but this feline especially.
Ez's train of thought was interrupted by the other feline. He blushed slightly as he listened to their introductions, and in turn introduced himself. "I'm Ezekiel, call me Ez. It's a pleasure to meet both of you!" He gave a little bow to both of them. Be nice to those older than you. "I really hope I didn't interrupted anything..." He had only just thought of that, silly boy. Oh well, if he was interrupting they would just go on their way.

[ooc: I'm good to keep going! =D I wasn't sure if you wanted to continue, because Ez is all grown up now. ^_^]
"Oh no, you're not interrupting, not at all!" Inno protested, gray-red eyes going wide as his gaze snapped from the window toward the sparrow, returning his bow with ingrained grace that he really didn't notice any more, because it'd been trained into him as far back as he could remember (which, alright, wasn't all that far, but that was okay because he knew that it didn't really matter).
Then his gaze went thoughtful as he looked the Lakelander over, imagining him wrapped in a pretty pink corset, and then he nodded firmly. "That would look really pretty on you, I think. The corset, that is! All sleek and lovely and stuff, right Katya?" he asked, glancing over his shoulder at his sister, ears perked up in sharp attention.
"Hmm," she murmured, and then nodded to her brother's satisfaction. "Yes. I think you'd look very nice." She might be wary of the stranger, but that was her usual state of things, and she was used to allowing Inno to go forward, as long as it wasn't really dangerous. Daddy would probably have her hide for that, and not just metaphorically either. However, it seemed that Inno had adopted this young man as a friend for the time being, and so she shifted her usual watchful gaze to include, not just her brother, but the Lakelander as well.
"So, what are you doing here in the City? Daddy has a meeting here, and so we're not supposed to bother him, so Katya is taking me for a walk around to see things," he explained confidently.

Ezekiel blushed for a moment. He wasn't interrupting things and he had just been complimented. "Thank you!" he said with a happy chirp. No one had ever really liked the idea of him wearing a corset in his family. Well, Dad just raised an eyebrow at the idea. He would probably stop caring once Ez actually did it.
The sparrow shifted as he looked at the pair of felines. Well that seemed like a legitimate reason to wander around the city and window shop. "My Dad is busy with working at his Shipping firm," Ez shrugged. He had no head for numbers like his brother. "I could show you around if you like. I know a few of the stores around here, and a few good places to eat if you're hungry."
It was an offer. They were adults, but he could easily help adults out, he had done it so many times before. Well... Inno was a special sort of adult who was really just a kid.

Oh, Inno liked this sparrow. He was happy and nice, and there was something that was really just...well...nice was the only word that he could come up with that fit, even if he'd already used it and Katya said it was overused anyway. There was something really nice about him, that made him happy, because too many adults were all caught up in their adult stuff. Even when Daddy made play-dates for him, they weren't always so simple and uncomplicated, because some times they wanted to play weird games. But Ezekiel - Ez! - was different, and Inno liked that.
"Really? Oh, that would be wonderful, thank you! I wasn't sure how we were going to find lots of interesting things, and Katya said we'd be fine, but if you'll show us around, then you already know where everything is!" He was thrilled! A guide, just for them, and they'd met because of this store full of lovely jewelry and things. A moment's thought reminded him that he wanted to come back here with Daddy some day, because then maybe Daddy would buy him a few things, and so he looked up to see the name of the shop and fix it in his memory.
"We ate not too long ago, so we should be fine for the time being, but thank you Ezekiel," Katerinka said, because Innokentyi was a little bit distracted by trying to memorize the shop name. Habit made her glance up and fix it herself, because if he couldn't remember it, then he'd be absolutely disraught. "However, if we're out long enough a snack would be appreciated," she added, too polite to just leave the offer of places to eat hanging.

Ez made a rather cheery chirp and clapped his hands together. All right, this was going to be fun. Let's see, what was on the list of places they could go to. "There are several jewelry stores in this general area, a magic shop, two floral shops, two clothing stores, one place for formal evening wear... and the list goes on. I guess we should start with the closest place to this."
He hummed happily, "And if you're only window shopping it probably won't take all that long. But there's always a place that's open around here where there's food." And he had enough money from his dad to buy his own if that came up. Oh this was going to be a nice little day out then? He would get to do something that wasn't boring. It was a wonderful refresher, and now he got to make an interesting set of friends out of it. Even if there was a chance he might never see them again. Such was life.
