"Fine." Conway muttered still in his protective ball. That hurt but he wasn't about to admit it. Now he just had to listen to what Javaid was saying. Food. He was supposed to eat today?
After a few moments he uncurled to prop himself up. He stared blankly at the food and tea. He was supposed to eat that?
"No. I don't think I can eat solid food." He shook his head and didn't touch the food. Conway was going to be stubborn. It was just part of his immature childish nature. That and, he was terribly afraid that he couldn't actually stomach the food. He still didn't feel quite right, and enjoyed avoiding disasters involving the loss of the content of his stomach.
He stared at the tea for a minute. In all honesty he preferred drinks without a drop of caffeine in them. However, he had to put something in his stomach. If he could hold the tea down he might be able to manage some soup.

Javaid watched Conway with unspoken concern, studying the boy's improvement -- or lack thereof. It wasn't that he was ailing further, but that he seemed to be remaining a constant unwell. That wasn't good, not at all. He needed to get some proper nourishment in him soon...even if Javaid he had to feed the boy himself.
Well, at least he was growing more comfortable around Conway. Usually he wouldn't go so far as to get that close to a stranger, especially a decidedly conscious and unwilling one. Ah, the troubles of being shy.
He followed the boy's gaze toward the tea, and back toward the soup. "Then perhaps the tea first? It's a green mix, with a hint of ginger that should settle your stomach." Oi, he wished he knew the boy's tastes a bit more accurately... It would've helped him a great deal when he attempted to prepare things for him.

Conway hated tea. Why couldn't he have orange juice or something like that? At least that didn't tasted funny. With a small sigh Conway accepted the tea and downed the whole thing with a shiver. He could still taste the bitter parts of it. Bleck. How did people drink this stuff all the time.
He stared at the soup. He didn't want to eat it. However he had no excuse not to. Holding back another sigh he took a sip of the soup. It tasted... well he couldn't really taste it properly with the way he felt. Frustrating. Either was he ate half of the soup when everything was said and done. He felt ill again, but he managed to keep it down.
He didn't plan on eating for a while now. Otherwise he wouldn't make it without losing whatever he had managed to gain. "Thank you..." he muttered.

While Javaid was far from a mind reader and couldn't rightfully realized Conway hated tea as much as he did, the jackal could see the boy's brief cringing and that made him frown a little. Not from insult to his tea, but for concern. Was the medicine too bitter? He'd hoped the gentle flavors of the ginger mix would ease that...
Nevertheless, he was quiet for now and allowed Conway to slowly stomach the tea and breakfast before asking questions.
"You're welcome." For a moment he hesitated, losing himself in thought. His living was frugal at best, and he lived off of a small mix of bare necessities that suited him just fine... He could imagine, however, that a younger card might not appreciate his diet nearly as much. "I imagine you must not be entirely thrilled with what I have to eat at the moment...but if there's anything you'd like, I'd be happy to get it for you." Well, of course, not him specifically... but he could get someone to fetch it. Conway didn't need to know that, however.

"I'm not all that picky when it comes to food..." Conway said with a wheezy sigh. "If you could get something other than tea to drink though, I would be pretty happy."
Not like he would be staying here for much longer. He needed to go once he was better, right? He couldn't impose on someone so nice for very long. That and he didn't want to get attached. If Javaid ever found out about his secret.... the Joker mentally shook it off. He just needed to stop thinking about all of it. He was being stupid, miserable and paranoid.
"I-I'm sorry to be so much trouble to someone like you...." Conway muttered before propping his chin on his hands and staring at the other Hisstor. He really was quite pretty and painfully nice. Why had he been lucky enough to stumble on someone like this when he didn't deserve it.

Javaid smiled a little and nodded. "Alright, that shouldn't be too hard. Anything in particular?"
Unaware of the boys thoughts or secrets, Javaid was simply happy to have company for once in such a long time. Very few people came by here for more than personal calls and this was usually entirely fine. Javaid tended to be antsy around most strangers, even cold in his duties. He'd never really been given the chance to warm up to someone outside of his family though... At least he was Hisstor.
"You haven't been trouble at all, Conway." The jackal flashed another brief smile before his expression muted a bit and his tone shrank in a moment of contemplation. "The company is nice." He honestly couldn't believe he'd said that, but there was no changing it now. It was true and Conway deserved to know that he wasn't just a burden.

If Conway's tail had been there it probably would have wagged once or twice. However he was good at containing his emotions when it came to happiness. "Um... coffee I guess." Even though he would rather have alcohol or something sweet that didn't seem like the right answer. Sticking with coffee would be best for now.
"I didn't think I could be good company being sick at all. I'm... glad though... I guess." And there he went and stumbled on his words. Talking was difficult. Maybe he should just keep quiet for the rest of the day? The boy refrained from sighing as he coughed a bit. At least... it was less frequent and he felt a little better.
Conway glanced back at Javaid. Maybe he could risk a question. "You... don't leave often so who helps you?"

"Coffee?" Javaid couldn't say he'd ever had coffee before, but he was really far more of a tea person... He was also rather set in his ways at times. "Sure, that won't be a problem."
As for company... Well, he didn't mind him being sick or anything of the like. Company was company and when you were as lonely as Javaid was then it didn't really matter how articulate they were. "I don't believe that being sick makes you bad company." He had at least been kind to him so far.
'You don't leave often'...well wasn't that the understatement of the year. Not that Javaid could contest it, or even scoff at. Instead he smiled a little and rubbed the back of his neck, awkward about having to admit he relied on someone else to do most of his shopping.
"Occasionally a boy from the local clan comes by and brings me groceries or supplies as I need them. He will probably be by later this afternoon, so if you want anything else just let me know and I'll add them to his list."

Conway muted his happy sigh. It was nice that he wasn't that much of a burden on someone else. For once in a long while he actually felt safe. Of course that meant he needed to be more careful... but while he was still sick he wouldn't be able to do much. As long as he kept his secret protected everything would be fine. He just couldn't slip up.
"Coffee is more than enough to keep me happy. Thank you... for everything. Not many people would be willing to do this..." Sadly he knew that from experience. When he was younger it was a lot easier to get help from random strangers now was close to a nightmare. How lucky had he been to stumble on to a place like this.
A place filled with dead people, but none the less, it was a place. Maybe he could repay Javaid when he was better by helping out a bit. Then... then he would have to disappear.
