He never really thought he would be thankful for being force fed tea of all things. It burned down his throat, but somehow made him feel the tiniest bit better. Then... then something weird happened that almost made him jump.
Javaid actually took his hands without warning and offered to fix them up. He blinked a few extra times as he looked at the damage. Had he really dug into his skin that much? He looked back up at the Jackal and offered him one of his hands, it really didn't matter.
Why was this all so weird? Why was someone really taking care of him after he freaked out like that? Stupid people didn't make any sense! None of it made any sense! He wanted to live a normal life but he didn't want to live because he hated what he was. He could hide it... but he could never change it. This was just miserable.

The surprise in Conway's eyes was obvious, but Javaid merely smiled in response to it. Time after time he found himself so aware of how attention starved the boy was. Had no one ever showed him this kind of affection?
Oh well, he was here now and he would care for Conway as long as Conway allowed him.
Gently taking the hand offered to him, Javaid wiped up the blood gently and then applied pressure to the small wounds. He would wait until that hand had stopped bleeding, which luckily didn't take too long as the cuts weren't that deep, and then he held out his paw-hand for Conway's other hand. He would repeat the process once the hand was given to him, and would return the slightly bloodied rag to the tray with the intention of changing it later.
The small matter of cleaning up Conway's hands, however, had brought something else to mind. "Would you like me to draw you a bath sometime?" With all that sweating and his still too high fever, Conway could do with a flush of cold water.

"Okay...I guess..." Conway said blinking. A bath might be a really good idea, it was just a matter of getting their without falling flat on his face. How many times he had done that before he wasn't sure. How the Jackal was planning to move him under any circumstance.
He shifted uncomfortably as he looked at his hands. How many times had he caused himself to bleed? He really couldn't remember anymore. None of it mattered as he flopped on the bed with a small cough. He turned his back to Javaid. He wasn't up to dealing with this anymore. It was too confusing and too much for him to handle when he was sick.
He was far too tired to stay awake, so in a matter of minutes he had fallen into a less fitful sleep. That medication had worked to some degree, and probably gave Javaid enough time to do something other than worry about Conway.

Javaid nodded quietly to Conway, trying to ignore the fact that getting him into the bath might be awkward with out assistance. Assisting someone to a tub, however, was quite a bit easier than carrying them across the house and down the stairs. He could hopefully manage it on his own. If not... That would have to be dealt with then.
Luckily he'd have time to think on that and other things since Conway had fallen asleep again and a slightly more restful looking sleep this time too. Perhaps he'd finally found the right mixture of medicine for him. Thank the spirits for that.
He wasn't sure how much of a window he had but he'd use it to the fullest of his abilities. There were a few chores that ought to be taken care of, a bit of cleaning and a quick check of the perimeters once he was dressed again. He turned off the main light in the entry way so that any visitors would know he was not to be bothered and left on another that opened up the back entry to the necropolis proper.
It wasn't long before he'd settled up his chores and was able to return to the temple, make himself lunch and even grab a brief shower. Conway was still asleep or semi-asleep during Javaid's brief checks on him. As the hour grew closer and closer to dark, Javaid expected the boy might be waking soon and made a fresh batch of tea and supplies and returned downstairs to take up his vigil over the boy once more.

Conway woke up with a start from some sort of horrible nightmare. He almost rolled out of bed to his great dismay. Somehow he managed to get tangled in the sheets. Fantastic. He wiggled uncomfortably as managed to get himself out of the mess.
When he looked over to the doorway he saw Javaid. With tea. Again. Enough with the tea, honestly. He closed his eyes and returned to his pillow. At least he could move a bit better now, even if it hurt like no tomorrow. He wasn't going to walk properly anytime soon. Maybe if he shifted to his wolf form? Even then he would have to use his ability to cover up his lack of suit.
He looked a Javaid curiously. He was back in his jewelry again. Conway wasn't quite sure what to think of him, at all. He was being nice and he was.... pretty for a guy and just... why was he still taking care of a miserably sick person who didn't even appreciate the effort? He probably had better things to do.

There was an obvious appearance of exhaustion about Conway but considering the way he managed it would prove just how accustomed to this lack of sleep he really was. Staying up for Conway was nothing new, it just meant his usual research wasn't being done. Research, however, was not nearly important as his sickly guest.
Setting the tea down, Javaid turned and found Conway's dark eyes staring back at him. Good, he was awake. A smile spread over his muzzle as he drew closer, sitting down at the boy's side. "How are you feeling, Conway?"
Absently he tested the boy's temperature and placed a cold compress over his forehead in an attempt to lower it down again. Fever was good in small doses, but it risked scrambling the boy's brain if left too high for too long. Javaid would rather not take that risk.

"Bad," Conway said as he flopped his head on the pillow once Javaid was done. Maybe he should try to eat something... but he wasn't hungry. That was a horrible problem that Conway usually dealt with when he was ill. Along with being dizzy. He did need to get out of bed though, he was terribly sore and the sweat was getting to him.
He wasn't going to be able to keep his balance in his human form though. Of course he needed to concentrate so he could cover up his lack of rank and suit. When he shifted, and all was said and done, he was in his animal form and had a seven of Spades on his chest. Not too high and not too low, as far as he was concerned.
He looked up at the Queen curiously. "So that bath you were talking about... think I could have one?"

Javaid nodded gently, concern filling his eyes despite the Jackal having expected that answer. Before he could speak up, however, Conway had shifted forms and Javaid was left staring at a young Hisstor wolf with an expression of pure, but pleasant, surprise. He'd notice the Seven of Spades as a minor afterthought, far more focused on region and breed than rank. A smile touched his muzzle absently and he nodded slightly.
"Yes, of course." His tail flicked slightly, wagging gently as he moved forward to assist Conway. This would be far easier for Javaid to help move him since he wouldn't be forced to support the whole of his human weight.
Despite his sudden increase of curiousity surrounding the boy's origins, Javaid focused first on moving Conway from the bedroom and into the adjacent bathroom. It would take him a second to draw up the water, but once it was a decent temperature he urged the canine inside.
"Is the temperature alright? I left it a bit chill, but it should help a little with the fever."

Conway wasn't particularly thrilled about being led around. He was just very thankful that the bathroom was adjacent to the room. After flying into a small coughing fit while Javaid drew the bath, the wolf wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes before getting into the bathwater.
He whimpered as soon as he was in the water. As good as it felt he gave a shiver. Maybe he should switch to his biped and grab some soap.
No, his body decided to throw him into another coughing fit. How miserable was that? Every single time he tried to focus or do something for himself his body protested. As long as he wasn't going to be dizzy in a minute...
Once the coughing had ended he propped his head on the rim of the tub, looking miserable. He eyed the man for a minute. "Can I... have some help? And can you make sure not to get anything on my spine?" It was bad enough that his bracelet was already giving him hell. He shifted to his biped form to make this a tiny bit easier.
God. He was never going to live this down.
