Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I am sadly unfamiliar with threads with official posting orders, even though you mentioned it at the top. ^^;; I grew up with the "post when you have something to say" bit, so forgive me if I messed up...? I just saw that everyone else had posted, and went, "Damn, forgot," and wrote up a post. >.> And no, please don't walk out, FP - I joined this thread because I want Solo to bother Severus! I'm perfectly willing to wait. ^_^]

"Touche, Solo. But I have also heard it the way I have spoken it. There are many ways of saying the same thing." Severus spoke, his condescending tone only growing...but now coupled with annoyance. He might have made a comment to the last of Solo's comment...except he suddenly felt...very bored by the conversation, as he tended to do when things grew a little to childish for his tastes. Besides...he didn't even really know Maxwell very well...so what was the point about talking about him?
Severus reattached his attention to the intruding bird. Well, everyone was intruding to some extent...but the bird just seemed odd to him. Well, everyone seemed odd to him if they were children. He just...didn't know how to act around those of his own 'age' group. Didn't know how to interact with them at all. He looked at the rotting hand in the green liquid. Disgusting? Maybe...there were very few things that disgusted him other then ignorance. "Intriguing at any rate?" he said, though more a question to himself then anyone else. Insecurities assaulting him, he wondered why he found no disgust in things that were disgusting to others. Just the way he was.
It was then that the rat came upon them. A lowlander, and a foul looking one at that...though not the most disgusting. Severus' snake like nose slits flared and wrinkled at once in distaste, though it soon went back to his normal facial expression, one of disinterest and coldness towards people. How he detested rumors. He was a man of facts and of logic...not things that may or may not be true! "What is told in the ear of a man is often heard 100 miles away." he said simply in response to the rat's ludicrous tale. Besides...he wasn't exactly happy to be in the company of such a fellow...he smelled of ill tidings.

Solo grinned cockily at Severus, nodding to acknolwedge the fact that the serpent-deer was right. There was always more than one way to say something, but there were also versions of it that were more common. Not like he was going to mouth off to his half-brother about stuff like that. It was a sure way to earn himself a lecture, and while occasionally stuff like that was fun, it wasn't what he really wanted to do. At all.
He eyed the rat warily, though, as the Lowlander went through his whole story. All he needed was some dramatic lighting and creepy background music, and they'd be good to go! Maybe a lightning flash at the end of the whole thing. Yeah, that'd be good, lots of fun. Or rather, a flash of light in the darkness, because he still had yet to figure out how to do lightning, and a bit of shaking on thin metal sheets for thunder. That was it.
"I dunno about it being all magical-like. It really just looks like a severed hand, to me. I mean, I could be wrong, and all. And don't you think it'd be in a magic item shop, not an apocethary's shop? Or something? I'm just sayin', is all,"[/color] he added, smirking. Yeah, knock down the Lowlander, even if he did apparently have a skill for being nice 'n dramatic n' stuff.
