The 'stay' made Fluffy twitch and hold more still, but then the man was scritching and rubbing at the top of her head again and she couldn't stop a small purr from escaping. Xiven hadn't said it incredibly forcefully so maybe the purr wouldn't make her angry? She dared a quick look but didn't see anything but a smile on her owner's face, which made her relax a little bit. She wasn't quite as outright terrified of the word as she had been when she was little, but it still made her very uncomfortable.
But this man was being gentle with her and that always made her relax a little bit. She'd heard him mention 'wet' and wondered if she was going to have to endure it. She had nothing against water, really. Baths could be fun and they always left her smelling so pretty, like some of the ladies at Court.
And they kept saying her name. It was enough to make her smile and tilt her head as Mr. Todd began his work. She was still purring a little bit.

"Makes perfect sense, my dear, no problem 't all. Make Fluffy, fluffy, huh? Heh heh..."
He couldn't help the smile twitching at the corner of his mouth, so he let it out, laughing a little and picking up the blue pot, mixing in some water and watching the substance foam a little.
"Awright, lets get the ears done first then..."
Mr. Todd murmured, patially to himself, partially to the kittens. Taking some of the substance on his fingers, he began to run it into the tip of the Ace's ear, aftre massaging it for a second, he moved onto the other one. The started down her front paws and shoulders.
Slowly, the fur would begin to grow out longer, it would itch a little but the fur would grow fairly fast. This wouldn't take long at all, after this he would just trim it back to where the little Queen desired, not bad at all.

Well at least he was in good humor. That made Xiven feel much better about the entire thing. She watched with amazement as the hair grew. Wow, that was just... that was just amazing. It made her wonder what else this man could do, and again, why he was in such a sketchy place if he knew what he was doing.
Then something popped into her head. Oh, she had completely forgotten about that. Maybe she should wait until he was completely done? Then she would probably forget. Might as well ask now while he was in a chipper mood because of her mother's sense of humor. Amazing how it came in handy sometimes.
"Uh... I forgot to mention that.. I was wondering if I could get a magical scent from you. One for calming people if at all possible. I hope I'm not being rude to think of it now," Xiven said as she watched Fluffy. That... was probably itchy from the way she was squirming.

Fluffy watching him mix the foaming stuff curiously, not afraid because of her owner's calm and his quiet chuckling. For all that his voice was rough and vaguely gravelly, it was warm right now and his laugh made her relax. That wasn't the scary kind of laugh, it was the happy or amused one, so she doubted anything bad was going to be happening.
At first the stuff being rubbed into her fur didn't do anything but make her purr at the massaging sensation. It felt good, for all that it was strange. And then it started itching, and she had to fight with herself not to move, to squirm, to mess anything up. Xiven had told her 'Stay' so she would stay. Despite her best intentions, however, she couldn't stop from twitching her ears and nose and whiskers, and nearly trembling from fighting the urge to start licking and gnawing wherever he put the stuff on.
When she dared to let her eyes flick down and see what it looked like, they widened at seeing the longer fur. She was... what? What was going on? Staying still, she was far more interested now in just what was happening to her. Everywhere she wanted to gnaw, the fur was getting longer. So this was what her owner paid him to do?
Would... she be as pretty as Xiven, with long, fluffy hair? Well, she would never be as pretty, because Xiven was a Queen and had a full, beautiful tail. But maybe she would be closer...?

"A scent? Sure 'fing, to calm people, awright, seems a good idea...some people gets a bit huffy aroun' Aces. It'll be ten p."
The large wolf smiled, and rubbed the underside of Fluffy's chin simultaneously getting some fur growth there and calming the Ace.
Once he had gotten all the fur out to a nice length, he reached into his pocket and flicked open a shining silver razor.
"Now jus' hold still, it'll only take a moment. Miss, if you could jus' tell me 'ow close to cut it so it falls properly."
He then began to trim at the longer fur until it looked layered and fell around the Ace's shoulders and legs correctly.
He then walked back over to his table, wiping his razor off absentmindedly and returning it to his pocket. Muttering quietly to himself, he grabbed up three jars and an empty container. Slowly pouring some of the mixes together he returned the jars to the table and then picked up a jar that was a very deep blue, the smell when it was unstoppered was very strong...but pleasant.
"Great, now I'll jus' apply a bit of this behind her ears...an' we're done!"
He said with a smile, turning the chair slightly so that the small Queen would have a good full view.
"What'd you fink?"

Xiven dished out the proper amount of money happily. This man was doing quite an amazing job and he was horribly nice. He tail swished as she saw the result of the proper trimming.
"Oh! That's amazing! She looks absolutely fantastic!" Xiven said happily as she gave Mr. Todd the rest of her money. She couldn't help but wonder what Fluffy thought about all of this. She seemed rather happy, but she was still staying quite still.
Right right. She had to tell her to stop staying. "Fluffy, you can come down now. Everything is done." Xiven waited until Fluffy was down from the chair to say anything else. She turned back to Mr. Todd, a rather wide grin on her face, "Fluffy and I thank you very much. If we ever have an other need for your services, we'll be sure to come back. Thank you again."

Fluffy's nose twitched curiously when the scents were opened and she fought the urge to sneeze. She was still Staying and so sneezing was definitely out of the question. When the stuff was brought closer to her, the combination of lavender and chamomile and something else she couldn't quite define made her purr even louder. The stuff smelled just wonderful.
The man with the rough but warm voice said 'done' and showed her to Xiven, who also said 'done', so she gave herself a little shake and hopped down from the chair to stand next to and behind her owner. She still wanted to gnaw and lick at her fur, but the urge was subsiding a little bit and the smell made it less of a frantic need and more of a passing desire.
With her owner thanking the man on her behalf, she dipped her head and mewed at him. "Meer." It was a polite little sound and mimicked Xiven's speech, as a good, well-trained pet might to keep people assured of her status.

At the polite thanks from the Queen and the utterly adorable little imitation made by the Ace, Mr. Todd gave them a stiff bow at the waist, servant style, tail tucked. Though his smile remained.
"Fank you kindly, girls. I'd be honored to be able to give any sort o' service should you need it. You be careful on your way out now, don't go down Forgro's street for any reason, awrigh'?"
He reached down to scritch the ce under the chin again and then held out a hand for the Queen to shake, make her feel like an adult...it brought back customers... And he liked these two, shame Mrs. Lovett hadn't come out, she'd have actually given 'em something that wouldn't have killed 'em. Ah well.
"Good day now, fanks for stoppin' by."

Xiven was utterly thrilled by this man. She would definitely fine an excuse to come back here with Fluffy. There was no way she couldn't when he was just being so... well she could use the word cute and that might cover it. She just could never say that out loud.
She did, however, smile and give him her paw so they could shake. "You have a wonderful day," Xiven said happily. After Fluffy said her little goodbye the Queen led the Ace out of the store. Now they had to get back and see mom at that cafe.
And she remembered not to go down the street that Mr. Todd had told them about. She didn't want to get lost in this place no matter what her age was. She merrily led her newly "made" Fluffy down the proper streets. She was happy, furry, and smelled fantastic. Today was a very good day.
